The stadium that I hated the most to visit was at Ft. Thomas Highlands. How does a school with all those state titles not be able to afford actual stadium lights and not flood lights outside connected to the school. The first time I visited there I was shocked that the stadium looked that bad. The old "ROCK" stadium at Sheldon Clark was bad because the home team had all the seating you could want, but the visitor side had like 3 bleachers. I have enjoyed visiting the new CAM stadium because it has got a small college atmosphere.

I've not been there since the '07 season, but I hated it. They had terrible vistors bleachers... had to walk on gravel over to them... then the student body came over to our little set of bleachers and tried to get fight started with JC fans... thats probably one place I wont return to.

There not tearing it down. More like giving it a makeover. Fixin the foundation,bleachers,and visitors locker room. They put in the new scoreboard a while back and added playclocks. But it is cherished to much to ever be torn down. It will still be Putnam stadium.

The picture out front of what Putnam is projected to look like when completed is really beautiful. My four year old has already caught on to how speciàl this place is as well. He talks about how cool it is playing flag football on "the big field" and he asks several times a week if we can go watch the big Tomcats beat someone there.

I remember days like that with my dad. It's stories like these that make Putnam so nostalgic to so many.

Has anybody ever been to Yeager, WV.'s field? (Or atleast that is what I think it is called) When Bill Tom Ross was at JC, he talked about this place. Said that one endzone was only 7 yards long and it ran into somebody's front porch. He told me that he would rather take a forfeit loss than play another game at that place.

I was on BTR's team at Boyd County that he took down there to play the bears! It was a weird place, from what I remember the back of the end zone on one end was the school building, on the other end was the bus garage. At the max they had 120 yards(maybe) the story of that place could get very long real quick! It was a trip that no one who went on will ever forget

Atleast highlands has some sort of lights. I mean cov cath has turf but no lights? They also charge tuition so idk how they can't afford them. Playing high school football on Saturday afternoon instead of Friday night is just wrong.

Not if you want to make two good games a weekend. They fart around w/ the idea of lights all of the time. There's some big issue w/ the houses backing against the field and whether they have to give permission. Someon who truly cares enough can explain it properly. I don't, but I do like watching games there on Saturday. Now, if I had to make a 3 hour drive in the playoffs to play at 1pm on Sat. afternoon, that would suck.

Always partial to watching a game from the "Biergarden" on top of the hill at Newport Stadium.

For some reason, I always liked Dayton Stadium and Raceland's field. We played there one year and the place was sold out w/ people 3 lines deep on the track.

Worst field was Thomas More College when it opened up. Our kickoff team looked like it was running through a mine field. 3 guys tore ACL's running down and hitting dips in the field.

If replacing the concrete bleachers completley with metal is not tearing it down then forgive me, save the concession stand which was replaced about 15-20 years ago.
It will give it a whole different feel.

Frankfort's stadium is terrible. Best would be Hopkinsville and Christian County's Stadium.

Not a fan of Highlands's parking situation. And I could now do without hearing "We Like To Party" played ever again after attending a game there. Was a decent enough stadium, though.

Always enjoyed the atmosphere at Bell County.

The big cookie cutter stadiums all are starting to look the same. Turf and giant metal bleachers that hold way too many people so there are always tons of empty seats even with good crowds. I miss the old stadiums with character.

Best: Boyle County: Great atmosphere, seating, field, parking, etc. One of my favorite places to go.

Worst: East Jessamine: EJ's home bleachers are like a mile away from the field, but the visitor's bleachers are closer. If I was an EJ fan, I would go the away sidelines.

Anderson County: I really don't want to talk about that...

As far as my favorite, this is a biased opinion but, I just love the atmosphere, concessions, and seating at Pulaski Co. Although, once it's done and I get a chance to attend a game there, I am sure Harlan County's will be my favorite!

Worst: From a fans perspective, Estill County because of the visitor seating although I always stood in front of the home stands with my friends. Personally my absolute worst place I have been to is Anderson Co because of their fans and parents! Not going into any further details about it but, Get Chili and any SW fan that was at the State Semi Final game last year knows what I am talking about!

My understanding was it was just repair as opposed to an actual rebuilding. I could very well be wrong. I know they are doing some work to the foundation since its cracking. I remember hearing one Of the biggest problems is noone has the original blueprint. I hope it is more of just a repair updating kinda thing like when they added the new concessions. It would kill me to see the place torn down.

The Putnam Stadium restoration project has been broken down into phases, with the first phase planned to begin following the 2012 football season.
Highlights of the first phase including razing the stadium’s current structure and replacing the seating with enclosed bleachers.*Also included in the first phase are plans for new home and visiting locker rooms, plumbing and additional restrooms on the north side — and additional concession areas and lighting.

Watched a game on ESPN, it was 2 Cincinnati teams playing. The announcers called the field "The Pit". It looked like it used to be somebody's back yard. Because there were a bunhc of houses with porches all round it. And it looked to be right in the middle of a suburb. They showed the traffic after previous games..... looked like a nightmare getting out of that place.

You are correct it is elder. I don't remember what newspaper or magazine did the ratings. But it was rated one of the 25 best places to watch a game. I think I remember reading that on here

Like: Johnson Central. Log Mountain(except for people standing behind endzone). Christian County. Would have loved Corbin's when it was new or at least not decaying. Montgomery is really nice.

Don't like: ANY school with no seating on visitor side !!!!!!!!!!!!

Boyle would be Great if they would upgrade visitor bleachers. Maybe small concession stand on visitors side.
