Top 5 Mountain Coaches
#31
phillip haywood should be #1
#32
If you want to talk about Heywood's wins MATNEY'S, Hillard Howard would have at least 15 more than Heywood, but you have to remember 05' was his first head coaching job since like 96'. One can't use Heywoods wins as an advantage, because Hillard hasn't been a coach in 9 years! Pluss he has 3 state titles, and 3 runner-ups.

Understand I'm not taking nothing away from Heywood, he's awsome!

How is David Mitchell not among most of these lists.
#34
what about coach mitchell, does no one think he is among the top coaches in the mountains?
#35
how about a top 5 that havent won a ring:yesno:

How could you say that? Looks what he did to Johnson Central's program, definately top 5 IMO.

Matney and Mitchell are both GREAT coaches but the top coaches in the mountains IMO in no order are Holcomb(Brethitt), Howard(LCC), McGlone(Russell), Haywood(Belfry), and Hilton(Bell). There are several other good coaches in the mountains but those 5 coaches are some of the all-time best in the mountains and all have won at least 2 state titles.

Who is the coach at LCC? I don't think I have heard of him before.
