One of our seniors told me that yesterday was the worst practice of his four years of high school. Today is defensive day, and with the ridiculous number of missed tackles last Friday I don't envy those guys at all.

Is it not usually belfry MO to start slow and finish strong. Hears to hoping they meet Bell in BG and finally get the title everyone is throwing around of King of the mountains. Much respect for belfry and coach!!!

I agree. It's funny to watch Belfry fans get way ahead of themselves on here. I said they would get blown out against Henry Clay by 27 points and they get their panties in a wad. Well? They lose by 20!
After all, this 2012 was their super team they have been talking about for the past couple years. Those expectations are draining pretty quick. Central may put a running clock on Belfry this year, much like Highlands would.

Just ignore him skully. Every time somebody responds to him, you give him more fuel. If nobody responds to his ignorance, he will be inefective.

Pulling for the Blackcats in this one, but if they continue to play defense like they have so far this game could turn into a Belfry blowout pretty quick. The 2nd half of the Perry Central game is the only time they have stopped the run.

That last post of his on this thread might have some merit.

belfry will over power pburg with the belly.
side note this belfry team has always had
trouble with putting the ball on the ground
i have watched this group from pee wee
to now and they will fumble when the game
is on the line. i hope that i am wrong.
one hard week of running and hitting will not
fix it.

Im sure both teams come out firing on all cylinders. Both coming off of tough losses and going to be ready to put a "W" back on the paper. Just remember folks, this is Prestonsburg vs. Belfry and its always a good game.
Pburg - 33
Belfry - 28

IMO Belfry will come out focused on this game and know what they have to do to blow through P'burg's weakness of stopping the run. Belfry will get up early but the Blackcats will fight back if Belfry loses the focus...
I say;
Pirates: 42
P'burg: 24

I wish I could say we'd come out pissed and blow Prestonsburg out, that doesn't happen. Derrossett knows our defense and how to attack it. I had a long conversation with Michael Burchett about some of their strategies. Belfry hasn't fixed some of the things they attacked. Even last year when the Cats were down for their standard they put 30 on us, so it'll be an interesting game.
As far as the Henry Clay game, that's a very good team that the Pirates by all means under estimated because we beat them up last year. We were not 20 points worse than the Blue Devils, turnovers and missed tackles doomed us, but when you have the hype that Belfry had perhaps a good smack in the mouth is the best thing for you.

I'm concerned with Belfry's yards after contact in this one. PBurg still hasn't fixed their tackling problem, and the only player out there that will lay you out is Chatlin Jarrell. However, I hear we have had a good week at practice and cannot wait to see how we perform against our biggest rival and also, without our best player in #8 Bryson Williams.

I've been on vacation and not around for awhile. I missed the news about Bryson Williams. I'm sorry to hear he's out for the game. That's not going to help the Cats. I just hope for a safe game. These are my 2 favorite teams.
