I promise if you knew you wouldn't have even mentioned that in this post.

I think you better go back and read some of your earliest posts. You know the ones way back even before all the stuff about the Canadian that Rhodes was trying to recruit.

It's the ones with family problems, or attitude problems, what ever, that would need what ever help Rhodes had to offer. I don't know either of those boys you mentioned personally, but if what you said are true they are the ones that Rhodes should be there for and he shouldn't give up on them regardless of who tells him he has to. If he is really there for the reasons you guys say, instead of kicking those kids off or even letting them quit, he should have been seeking them out. He should have showing them that they may quit on him but he won't quit on them. That's the kind of approach that people who really want to work with trouble youth have. If you are going to take on that challenge you have to have some thick skin.
If im an African American and one of the players call me a N*****, they wouldn't step back on my team. It shows what kind of guys Rhodes is to allow it in the first place/.

Some kids no matter how much you help them.....they will continue to give you the same result...and sometimes you have to cut them lose....you have to want help and be willing to change yourself....no matter how much people try to help...that was the case with the 3 boys that were cut/quit....it was a broken record with them

Listen, I'm not black, but I am educated enough to know that that is a word that cuts deep. However, I just happen to have a job in an area which allows me to work closely with some trouble youths. I can assure you that if Rhodes has any serious desire to work with troubled kids, what ever their situation is, he anticipated dealing with that word and a lot of others. If he didn't, he has no business doing what he says he wants to do. Like I said, it's the kids who have attitudes and situations bad enough that they would actually say things like that that need the guidance. The kids who say "yes sir" and "no sir" are already doing just fine.

And if you have that attitude about the kids then you don't need to be working with them.

Yes i agree, But he let that certain kid back on the team, provided money when needed and anything else. I know you are smart enough to know there are kids around here you just CANT help no matter what you do. Rhodes was dealing with three. Like i said for him to be called that and allow that player to come back and provide for that player shows what kind of man Rhodes is. If you deny that anewpat then your just a complete Rodrick Rhodes hater.

^^Your making no sense what so ever. Every high school in this region has players quiting and being cut from teams. Go ask around and see if any other coach in this region is doing as much for his players and the kids that go to school their than Coach Rhodes, You Can't!!!! Rhodes bent over backwards for them two boys from the moment he arrived on Lotts Creek and time after time again they go behind his back. If you know anything about trying to build a program, you know those types of players like the boys who was cut can't be their

Rhodes helped them boys time after time after time after time, and he was getting no where with them. They still disrespected him, cussed at him, and called him N*****.
Rhodes even took one of the boys to Lexington and bought him an entire new wardrobe.

Actually KHSAA12, I don't care one bit to admit that I am definitely not a Rodick Rhodes fan. If he did those things, then great. What I am saying is he has only been at Cordia five months, it may just take a little longer than five months to reach some kids.

Yes it will take more than five months. He tells everybody that he is there for awhile. He will have years to better not only the kids on the ball team lives, but every students life, and future students and players.

But, what the Cordia faithful is saying is that the building of the program and winning is not what Rhodes is doing there. He is there to make a difference in those poor kids lives. If that's true then the kids should come before the program. I agree, getting rid of the kids was probably best if he wants to building a team, but not if he wanted to change the lives of the troubled youth on the team.
I make lots of sense, you guys just need to admit that all of this Rhodes is an angel sent here to make a better life for these kids sh*t you keep preaching is a lie. He is trying to build a basketball program that will be noticed all over the state and probably even the country because some how he has come up with a plan to make money off those poor little kids he is helping. It just hasn't worked out so well for him, at least not yet.

Well cant let a couple bad apples destroy the whole bunch. I think after trying as hard as he did with those certain students and still getting no progress on the court or off it was about time to let them go. Why make the the whole team suffer the entire season trying to fix a kid that obviously could care less if they we're helped or not. And the students he cut we're academically ineligible for sports after break anyways. So it really doesn't matter if he cut them or not.

Yes he does want to build a program that is noticed nationally but think about it. Rhodes thinks if that happens, it will benefit the school, the community and the students of Cordia. Eventually Cordia will get a new gym, and when they do that will help the program. He is there to build a program and change lives. And everybody who has said one word to the guy knows that he puts his players before the program.

A lot of what I say I only say because I know I ruffle your guys feathers. I mean truth is I personally know I think like maybe 6 people on Lotts Creek. Until KHSAA12 ran his mouth so bad in Aug-Sept and p*ssed everyone off, I couldn't have cared less what Rhodes did over there.
But I do have one serious question and if you guys can give a serious answer that we don't all know is bullsh*t, I'll back off Rhodes (at least until he does some other really stupid thing and gets suspended). Seriously now, what exactly is Rhodes doing that is providing all of this change and that is affecting all those lives over there. I mean not just honoring everyone with his presense. What specifically is he doing that can be credited to him as Rhodrick Rhodes is doing that to make a difference in that kids life. Of course don't actually name the kids.

Now, I have to take issue with that. I had heard the rumor that Rhodes was going to be at Cordia and got on here to see if it was true and the I think it was called Cordia moves to the top of the 14th region thread was already in full force. Now whether or not you personally had posted on it, I don't know. But if you go back and look, I actually was first excited for Cordia, until posting got so obnoxious that everyone in the 14th region wanted to see him fail. I actually even stopped getting on here for about two months and didn't post again until after the first KCC vs. Cordia game because I got sick of every thread turning into a Rhodes is taking over the 14th region thread.

Because I actually knew one night miracles don't exist in basketball. But as far as recent talk, I have been defending Rhodes over your comment that either 1 make no sense or 2 just not supported by facts.

This is my answer. He has bought these kids close and stuff. But Rhodes helps these kids in several ways. The ones who may be on drugs or may have parents who are on drugs, he try's and tell him about his experiences growing up around those things and try and keep them away from that. I am a former Lion and I know that there are several kids who could care less about there grades. He preaches to his players and to all the students about doing there homework, making good grades, and go to college. He wants to better the community of Lotts Creek and he wants to help with the City of Hazard. Rhodes is just starting on helping these young kids.

Just looked and I didn't receive a message.....can I ask though, why you even feel the need to defend Rhodes to me or anyone else? Why don't you let his actions and his acheivements speak for themselves. To be honest with you, me or not much of anyone else buys into much of what you guys say anyway. I am not sure who you are, but I do know for a fact who KHSAA12 is, and he is not employed at Cordia and he is not on the Cordia coaching staff. I am going to assume you are not either. All of this inside information that you guys claim to have is information that shouldn't be share with you guys anyway even if it is true. It is so unethical, unprofessional and maybe even illegal for the school staff and coaching staff to discuss individual students, their problems and disciplinary actions, with you guys. Every time you guys post I lose more respect for Rhodes and that entire school administration.

Bottom Line. Leaders have to be respected. If a few dont respect their leader they have to go, if all dont respect their leader, the leader has to go. Schools have special programs to help troubled youth and youth in need, and last I checked basketball was a sport for athletes, played in a gym with coaches supervision,, not a support program to bring in guidance couselors, social services, churches and 12step programs so kids can find a way out of abusive homes, get off drugs, or find an inner peace! I applaud coaches who do make the extra effort to help kids in need of certian things and I applaud student athletes who see the opportunity to better themselves and thier futures through sports but if you are detrimental to the team as a whole (coach or player) and a coach doesnt have to help troubled youth at the expense of the rest of his team to be considered a good coach.
