#31
I dont give a damn who they put on the roster, as long as they are wearing blue, and beat tennessee I dont care. It would be awesome to beat them in football two times this year.

Once a kid is nominated, what is the criteria for being selected from that point?

Panel of coaches from the state select.

RunItUpTheGut Wrote:Whoever said I-75 i the dividing line is correct. They only pick kids from I-75, which includes all LEX schools and all the ones who are right on the border, so if you mix that all up, youve got kids from teh Fayette County schools a well as schools from northern KY like Highlands.

PLAYER HIGH SCHOOL
Jeremy Clark Madisonville High School
Seth Peay Allen County High School
Brady Jorstad FT Campbell High School
Avery Pitt Henderson County High School

I75 is nowhere near these guys so I am thinking that the I75 line or close has no relivence. But that is a good thing if it gets any kid from anywhere in KY or TN a scolly and having a few kids from other parts of the state could be good for the games growth in the future where maybe the whole state is involved like the old KT-TN All Star Game

There are some exceptions, but thats the general consensus

Is this the game you have to pay 300$ for?
#39
No....
#40
yes, they pay.

I was told that they are expanding this year. I was also told by Coach Campbell who is theAD at Whitley and on the border bowl directors. He said that this is the 4th highest in attendance of all of the high school all star games in the US. That is awesome. Congrats to all go CATS.

Yes. In additon to the privelege of getting to play with other top athletes from KY and TN, each player gets a set of Border Bowl sweats, a BB T-Shirt, their game jersey, and a Border Bown ring.

BTW - to all parents sending a player - practice will be outdoors on a grass field, and will be cold, wet and muddy. Pack enough gear to have something dry for each practice, and send a large garbage bag for wet, muddy clothes!

Im so glad they got this thing together.
And yes, while the kids have to give a little bit up, look at the oppertunities they get to show off there skills to couts along with all of the things they get.
I didnt know it was that high Amped. I know a couple of years ago, he told me it was getting up there in attendance and it was a top 10 when it comes to that, but 4th is crazy.

The KY usually practices at Whitley County Middle School, which is seriously better than a lot of high school fields ive been to. I think the Tenn team practices at Wburg high which is one of the nices fields thats actually grass in the state, or its vise versa, but im pretty sure its that way.

How did Sawyer Williams not make this roster? The kid is 6'7" and finished the year with 54 grabs for 1,157 yards and 15 TDs. So a kid that is tall and has good hands would seem to be a good target for these QBs to throw to. Not to meantion he excels defensively as a DE. Plus I-75 is a lot closer to Owen County than it is some other schools that they expandaed the selection for.

Contact the head coach and ask if he nominated the player you listed...

I did ask and he (Sawyer) was nominated. That is why I asked what criteria the coaches making the selections looked at when picking the roster.

Zack Burgy-Vanhoose (K) of Pikeville has been selected to play in the game. Great honor for a school to have both of its nominees selected.

Since this game has gone on through the years, selection has been tougher and tougher. Congratulations to these two Panthers! Hopefully they will help the KY side bring a W home!

Congrats to Codi Diamond! Go show em what your all about!

I'd rather KY just took Trinity or Highlands and had them go out and rout the Tenn team. This team we're sending doesn't look very good to me.

And, this why everyone thinks your a dousche.
Thats exactly why the kids that were chosen got chosen. Because they wouldnt get exposure otherwise.
Dont put Highlands in the same regard as Trinity either. You had to throw that in when in all honesty you know Trinity would smoke yours and there ass but Highlands would struggle. Your not that good.

Seriously, why can't some people support Kentucky sports as a whole in this kind of game. There is no need to tear other parts of the state and schools down every chance you get.

This is a really great opportunity for all of these boys and the team looks great.
VERY proud of Trey Slaughter and Alex Lange from Somerset. They will represent the team well. Little surprised no Storm Wilson, but you can't win em all I guess.

I am not certain about it, but, I think each team can only nominate two players. With Trey and Alex both making it, I think Storm was left out of the nominating. Who knows, he may have wanted to start working on his baseball. But, I think each coach can only nominate two players.

You can add Jeremy Harness and Hunter Holloway to the roster from John Hardin. I'm pretty sure both got invited to play.

I'm not certain but I think you are right. Storm is a sure fire D1 baseball prospect and Lange and Slaughter could benefit from another game of scout exposure a lot more than Storm could. Storm would definitely be a big addition though. Personally I think this roster looks pretty damn good.

I think there has been Boyle kids on the roster since this game started. I know Rees Macshara was on this team a couple of years ago. I also think we sent some kids down there last year also. Could be mistaken.

If you dig a little, the line is huge and very experienced. This is gonna be a big old team up front with the players coming from all over the state. Like someone said earlier, it is starting to look more and more like the old Kentucky vs. Tennessee all star game.

Diamond, Lake, Robinson all played in good battles against each other over the years. It is a real blessing to see these 3 and the rest of the talented players get on the same side for a game against Orange. Knox Central got wins over 3 TN teams this year (Lancaster, Clinton, and Gatlinburg Pitman) and we are all looking to continue that in this game.
