I would have to pick HC when it comes to that. The main reason being, does anyone else think that Class 5A is pretty weak overall in football?? There shouldn't be a team east of Lexington in 5A that should be able to compete with HC, their only road blocks would be a John Hardin, Bowling Green, or Warren Central, and they are all in opposite regions.
If you ranked the classes overall, in terms of top teams, I would rank each class this way: 1. Class 6A 2. Class 4A 3. Class 3A 4. Class 5A 5. Class A
6. Class 2A
TOP 10 teams in the state..
1. Trinity 6A
2.Bowling Green 5A
3.John Hardin 5A
4.Highlands 4A
5.St Xavier 6A
6.Scott County 6A
7.Harlan County 5A
8.Warren Central 5A
9.Christian Co 5A
10.Lex. Catholic 4A
25.Bell Co. 3A
4A and 3A are no where near 6A and 5A

Don't think they were ready for his speed, but with that game, I am sure that has helped prepare them for Davenport. HC is very stong and can score very quickly. This should be one of the better games across the state this Friday. You are right GC! Davenport is a great rb, one of the best I have seen in the mountains the last 10 yrs or so, he is very fast and shifty, but he is not 4.3 speed and is not as quick as Pokey Harris IMO. It doesnt bother me to hear Bell fans talk about how great a rb Davenport is, but dont exagerate his speed. He is a legitimate 4.5 guy and that is some serious speed!! Let it go at that

Harlan County is better than Lafayette...fact! Lexington Catholic is average at best...just better than Bell. Read what the rest of the state thinks about LexCath. Bell County has not beat anyone HC could not beat and I'm thinking LexCath would get theirs too!

I don't know about the 4.3, but he was in low 4.4 his junior year. I personally watched 4 runs of 4.40, 4.43, 4.43, and 4.46. Not in pads, just straight out track cleats and shorts. This has no bearing on field speed in pads, but a 4.4 in pads looks way better than a 4.7 in pads. Again though, a 4.4 speed can be outrun by a 4.7 speed in pads respectfully. What does it matter as long as they can get the job done. Davenport was suffering from 2 busted knees and the flu in last years game. He should impress this game.

Bell and Harlan has about the same amount of good athletes the difference will be where this game is played and thats at the Hylton on Log Mountain. Hard to beat a team on there on filed if you are equal... Bell County by 3 pts

I do think this game is the biggest game in the state this Friday Night. It will be a war. Both teams field great athletes and both teams are physical. Davenport has earned much respect and is widely known as a tremendous running back and he proves that fact. The Black Bears have great running backs as well. True, this game won't make or break either teams season, but losing is not well accepted by either team. Both teams will come out with fire in their eyes. Both teams will know they've been in a battle at the nights end. One will finish tomorrow night with a smile, the other with a smirk. Both will move forward and make a run for the state title. May the better team win and may there be NO injuries. GO BLACK BEARS!!! BEARS-32 Bell-20

"im sick of hearing about bell",...."im sick of hearing about harlan" blah blah blah.. when really the way i read it from harlan fans is, "im sick of hearing about bell being a better team even though they have been on top for years now & even though this is the first time we have been ranked higher then them we're better just because we're 9-0 & number 1 in the mtns this year" it never ends. if i had a nickel for every time i heard those remarks id be one rich. dont get me wrong its all interesting and extremely funny.
but...my point, we will all find out who the true king of the mountains is tomorrow night. Both teams are extremely talented so in reality no one really knows what to expect. with that being said saturday we will all log in to see the losing team fans complain about what could of, would of happened.. its all the same
To be the best, you have to beat the best. & until harlan proves that to bell county. then the bobcats are still king

Don't see that one. 5A with John Hardin and Bowling Green and Harlan County are way above 3A with Central and Bell and Belfry. Bowling Green and John Hardin alone would win against those three in 3A.
John Hardin has 5 shutouts and wins vs. Lex Cath & Boyle.
Bowling Green has only surrendered 66 points all season and has strong wins over St. X (I know they are only 5-4 but go se who the 4 losses are too and tell me most everyone else doesn't lose those games) & a win over Warren Central (Their only loss of the year).

I just hope the HC fans get back on here Friday night and Saturday morning after the game. Some of this stuff is silly.
I love how the HC fans always come back saying people are telling lies. Some of the numbers and so called facts they put up are.........hilarious!
Was it not true the Davenport played the 2nd half of last year with torn meniscus? Including the HC game. I think he hurt it against us the first time. He sat out a ton of games.

Time for the teddy bears to go to early hibernation tonight.
Seriously they will make it to at least the semi's b/c the 5A east is pretty darn weak. Besides 1A it is the weakest of the classes in the eastern regions.
