Every year we hear the same old song and dance from Belfry We are going to do this and that to the Tomcats. However when the dust clears, The Ashland side of the scoreboard numbers are always greater than the Pirates side. Go figure!

Nah really it's pretty sad, but if the BADCAT can give your miserable life reason to go on living hanging on my every word! Then I must press on with the message of TOMCAT NATION! Get you some
BOOB!
Oh really!!! I think you hold the patent on that. After getting it shoved up your hind end for about what, 7 straight times, you still have the nerve to spout off again this year. :biglmao:
There's two things you can always count on in this life. (1) NOTSOBADCAT, running his idiot mouth before the JC game. (2) Never hearing another idiot word from NOTSOBADCAT for the rest of the season after the JC game.nicker:
Once a fool, always a fool, NOTSOBADCAT.

Back to the game.....
I heard a good rumor that shannon justice will be back at MLB this week??
Any tomcats heard anything on this? I saw him the other day but didn't think to ask him. They would be fine either way he's been out several weeks but sure would be another BIG time player back in the mix.

Tomcat4ever Like it or not Belfry is and has been top team in ky for years we contend for a state championship year after year.:redboxer: We dont go in to games to lose! We put teams like ashland, johnson central, henry clay and prestonsburgh on our schedule to play compitition that makes us better. Even if the score dont show it against these teams its still a win for us. This years team is one of the deepest fastest teams we have had in years so yes we are playing to win every game. We held our own against you last year considering your school is bigger and has more kids to choose from that alone can be good enough. Win or lose you will leave this game saying Belfry has a great team that plays tough. We Have plans on going back to western ky for our last game of the year probably wont see you guys there!:moon:

If you had to play JC,Highlands,And Cov Cath Every year we wouldnt be seeing you there either. Belfry made the state championship caliber team last year but what effect did that have on the Ashland game? the answer is it didnt belfry competes in the second weakest class in the state while Ashland competes in the the toughest class

I'm looking forward to the game. I've only had the pleasure of watching Belfry play a couple times over the past few years. They are fundamentally sound, hard hitting, and well-coached. I've never heard a negative thing about Coach Haywood and am confident that he will have Belfry ready to play. That said, I am an Ashland fan and have seen all of their games this year. Ashland has a talented and deep team. They have executed their game plans with success. Defensively, they are quite fast. I think the key will be how the inside defensive guys (including the middle linebackers) play. I watched the Henry Clay game on IHigh. Belfry is tough in the trenches and moved the ball well inside. All the rhetoric aside, I believe it will be a good test for each team and will help both teams prepare for the playoffs. Should be exciting. Ashland 36 Belfry 20

I don't think Ashland could beat Mayfield, Central, Boyle County, Highlands, or Trinity. I don't know much about NCC.
10-05-2011, 11:57 AM
Nope. Couldn't beat NCC. But, then, Belfry wouldn't beat NCC either.

I think Belfry could win 2A, and will eventually get over the hump and win 3A. Hopefully.

thats what they said a couple years ago to, when NCC was supposed to whip Belfry and if i remember correctly they only scored 6points..yes Belfry only scored 7,but they won..

Are you implying belfry could I'm not understanding thus statement. Noone said Ashland could beat any of those teams?

No, I'm just saying Ashland said they have to play JC, CovCath, and Highlands to win state, but I'm just saying those other schools are tough too...

Trust me, you would dislike the Taliban more if you ever met one of them. Grow up junior.

My father is in the Belfry Athletic Hall of Fame. I graduated from Ashland and have lived here all of my life but I do know the Belfry area like the back of my hand. I admit I have a slight bias towards Ashland (hate their radio guy, Dickie Martin). A lot of folks have said that this isn't the same Belfry team we saw last year. Might want to consider that this isn't even close to the same product that Ashland put on the field last year either. Anyone predicting a 3 TD spread is delusional and needs Haldol. This should be a tight one. It could go either way and if I were a betting man, I would keep my wallet in my back pocket for this one.

I believe this pirate team is special, after friday it will be more than just whispered
10-05-2011, 03:21 PM
agreed but most of those teams aren't in belfry's class 3a is very week not trying to say belfry is a bad program but if you put them against Ashland schedule they wouldn't go to state so the argument isn't fair that u won't see the tomcats in bowling green cause 3a is weak while 4a is loaded

But would Belfry improve if we had Ashland's enrollment? If you put a 3A school in 4A they usually wouldn't do good, it really is a huge question mark with ten thousand variables. Ashland, Highlands, CovCath all do the best with their enrollment, just the same as Belfry, Central, and Breathitt. You know?
10-05-2011, 03:43 PM
FWIW Highlands enrollment size would classify them as 3A. Just saying. Nevertheless, all bias' aside, this will be a statement game for the winner. If Belfry wins, they prove to the state that they are a contender for the 3A title. If Ashland can leave Friday night with a convincing win, they will prove that the road to the 4A crown just got a little more crowded. I hope this game is played with the same respect and atmosphere as the GW/Ashland game. One of the best high school games I have ever seen in regards to quality of play, physicality of the game, and respect from both teams toward the opponent.

And i will pull for the tomcats most of the time after friday

Actually, Highlands enrollment-wise is playing in the class they are supposed to be playing in, Class 4A. They are not playing up under this new alignment. They are one of the smallest 4A schools, but they are 4A.
I agree 100% with the rest of your post

It is my understanding that Belfry is playing very few 2-way players this year. I don't think depth will be a issue in this game. Since this game is at Belfry the Pirates are a 6.5 point favorite.

I have to disagree with the whole 3a being the weakest class argument.
Central, Bell, Belfry, tighlman.. etc.
