Knox Central @ Harlan County 9/23
Not to sound bad on PCC..
But I don't see them making up 40 some points from last year to this year..
Not to mention.. Harlan Co. played PCC at home - where it is well known now, very hard to come off with a win.
Yogibear Wrote:Ahh! Revisionist history at its best. It rained all week and the field was not all that wet. Just an excuse your coach used in the paper. Amis was sacked all night was the real problem. You guys forget too when talk about how you should have won that HC had 4 turnovers inside PCC's 20 that night in the first half alone.

Hmmmm...
interesting that the stats don't show that.
No interceptions and 1 lost fumble for the whole game....

Could you be talking about turnovers-on-downs?

Just checked the weather forecast and there is a 30% chance of rain, so I guess you never know what the field condition coule be....HEHEHEH!!!

On drives hurt by penalties, fumbles not lost. I am not saying PCC didn't play good. I am say that it wasn't domination and then poof--LUCK, like you guys want it to be perceived.

And There were three fumbles, 2 lost to be exact.
Harlan Co. 28-7.

thats pitiful! lol
So-called wet field HC 14 PCC 13. Completely dry field HC 50 PCC 7. What point are you honestly trying to make here PCC fans?
Hc 15 pcc-14*
KC will have to protect Barger some. If they can do that they have a chance. HC will score on nearly every drive, KC will have to be very efficient on offense and I just don't see them having the weapons to win.
PCC fans have no good argument here, I don't even know why we are arguing. In 2009 we choked and Harlan County took full advantage of our miscues and executed in the end, and in 2010 we just got our asses stomped into the dirt. I hope this year is different, but this thread ain't about PCC/Harlan, it's Harlan/Knox. Is Diamond 100% for sure going to be out? If so that will hurt the Panthers immensely on defense, he might be the best defensive lineman in the mountains this year.

thats funny lol
My one post on the wet field comments: I specifically remember it raining as I loading my car that day and TJ Green didn't seem to have any trouble playing on it!

I think the Knox game will be intense for a while but I believe the HC defense wears Knox down as the game goes on.

Well....
it's possible.
But KHSAA only gave one fumble recovery to Perry for the game.

There was no domination by anyone in that game.
If I'm not mistaken it was 0-0 at the start of the 4th.

I just jab at you guys over the wet field and the fact that Robinson wasn't in the game for the last few plays Wink

That absolutely killed us that game.

24 was not in on the last drive, but was on the first TD. No doubt about it, that hurt PCC.

I knew it was bad news when Matt went out.

They lined up to go for 2...

I walked down off the the bleachers...

They punched it in....

I walked to the car.

Similar to what I did when Perry and Knott played in the 14th region final a few years ago when Stuart Stamper went to the FT line.
Only I had my wife and sister with me and I was like....
"go straight to the car and don't stop for anyone"

Harlan County winning a game of football is one thing....
but Perry County losing a basketball game is completely different.

It simply isn't safe lol

Unfortunately, I agree.

So forcing fumbles is luck now? Big Grin

Agreed.
But ttt, Harlan Co proves they're for real, and rolls.
Wake up Black Bear Nation, It's time to feed!
Harlan Co.-49

Knox Co.- 24
So honestly.. If Harlan Co. does roll over Knox.. What then?
I know a lot of people are predicting a close game..
But say they come out and put 50 on the board.
^I guess they would get a win
Move up in the AP poll
and start preparing for next week
It's GAME DAY in Harlan County....
I look for the BEARS to win by 3 TD's and put an end to all those doubters out there questioning our scheduling and if we are for real. There will be no doubt after tonight....

:Cheerlead :Cheerlead GO BEARS!!! :Cheerlead :Cheerlead

By the way it's pouring the rain in Harlan right now

Appeals are entered from all possible angles. Waiting to hear.

Diamond has started 39 games beginnning his Freshmen year for KC. Until the GP (TN) game he has never so much as had a 15 yard penalty in a game. An overachiever trys to keep blocking him after the play ends. He knocks that kid off him with a helmet slap and loses 20% of his senior season. Its criminal.

That said - you will hear no excuses from Knox. We are coming to HC to win. And whether we win or lose all you will hear from us is "nice game." Prayers for safety for all the players tonight. Harlan, Bell, and Knox players have been beating up on each other and making each other better since grade school. May their efforts be richly rewarded and the lessons taught by professor football extend far beyond a scoreboard.

I have no doubt that we are for real, but I have questioned the schedule.

I believe everyone knows this by now. Please man, come off it.
highschoolfan Wrote:I heard that the Lewis Kid for Harlan tore his ACL again, and one of the starting lineman has a broke leg? any truth?

Hope this is not true, was impressed by Tucker in the weight room and was looking forward to seeing him on the feild.

I think we all know how you feel 'hit me up' and quite frankly, tired of hearing your oponion....not real sure you should be referring to yourself in the "we" category.
It's almost time to 'Close the Gates", Let's go BEARS!!!
Fooseball Devil Wrote:Hope this is not true, was impressed by Tucker in the weight room and was looking forward to seeing him on the feild.

Tucker tore his ACL last year in the grid. Sat at all last season. Worked hard to get strong and faster and come back. Was feeling well and doing well when lightening struck twice and he has retorn that same knee. He was hoping to put a brace on and try to salvage this season, but his meniscus was too damaged to risk further injury so he will have surgery in a few weeks. To say he is devastated is a understatement. He's no quitter. He has a great attitude and will be back next season.

I remember last season after he had surgery, we were attending his younger brother's middle school game at Knox Central and some of the high school's coaching staff were helping officiate the game. At the halftime some of those guys said some of the most encouraging things to him and I will never forget it. It really helped him. You'll never hear me say a foul thing about the Knox Central Coaching staff. It meant so much to a young man who was down and out. Classy bunch. Thanks for asking about him. His heart is broken but not his spirit.
