If you could do away with the retarded soccer stuf on this page it would shrink it by 90%.
I wish you could see football only.

Looking threw this list i have a couple of questions.
1. How does a kid get suspended for 5 games for an unsportsmanlike in baseball. (Corbin player)

2. How does an entire baseball team get suspended a game for fighting (Russell), was it a bench clearing brawl?
#33
Since Diamond is suspended, how doea that effect the gamplan?
Will Harlan Co rush the entire game?
#34
I'll take the black bears 36-34

I was at the game and yes that is exactly what happened--the kid from Pittman took his helmet off and tossed it 15 yds to the sideline and noting was called on him--period...oh well----------

I saw a couple Harlan County kids on the list as well.

Actually there were 3. But they were either for another sport (like Gut's favorite...soccer), or out dated.

Two were from last season and one was this season during a JV game.

It does have 2010 DQ's on it.
Im guessing those were the ones that had to sit out the first game of this year maybe?
Im just bumfuzzled at how many of those red card thingys these kids get in soccer, is that when you head butt somebody or something?

Actually it was mid season last year. Don't know why they'd have 2010's on the list. Anyhow, this should be a good game for the Bears. Anxious to see how our Filthy Animals do Friday. Gonna be a fun game to watch.

Sad to see a kid lose 20% of his senior year for this. Two games is harsh for an all out fight - never mind what happened here which was simply a kid trying to get an overachiever who wanted to try to keep blocking after the played ended to get off him. Diamond swatted the kids arms off him and in doing so swatted the kids helmet. The ref ejected him with 50 seconds to go in a game that had already been decided. Diamond should not have swatted the kid but losing 2 games for that is too much. For the Panthers that is like losing 3 players since he anchors the Oline, DLine, and is one of the best kickers in KY. We went back and looked at the records. Diamond had started 39 games in since his Freshmen year and has never had so much as an Unsportsmanlike Conduct in a game.

I admire what refs do and would never want their job. But in situations like this we clearly give them too much authority with no checks or balances. I hope at some point KHSAA will reconsider this policy and only put a 2 game suspension on a player where a true fight occurred.

I had to google it to find out what the red card was in soccer. Alot of those red cards was for girls also.

lol glad to see someone else is as knowledgable as me when it comes to soccer.
IMHO there nothing more exciting than watchin a two hour soccer match that ends in a 1-0 score or a 1-1 draw lmao.

I completely agree. Its ridicolous, i can see one game for actual fighting and punch throwing. I know the khsaa just did this to "look" like there taking it seriously.
IMHO i think football should be totally different than baseball and basketball. It should go by quarters in football and not games. The basketball and baseball teams play 30-40 games and a 1 or 2 game suspension is justifiable.
However a kid only gets to play a guaranteed 10-11 games a year and taking one of the them away is horrific percentage wise as to what it is in the other sports. I say one half suspension for fighting. If you fight again then 1 game, and then 2 games and so on.
These are kids and of course emotions are going to run high especially in a contact sport. Its just ridicolous IMO.

Does other states report this to the khsaa?
I know it might not seem right and may cause future problems if its discovered but could KC have kept it quiet and the khsaa never know?

I say any coach worth a spit would never do something like that.

The TN official reported it to KHSAA who told KC. TN has a mandadory 1 game suspension rule. As such, it would stand to reason that when playing in TN and a TN official ejects a player a 1 game should apply if any. But that is not the case.

And I could not agree more that football should be treated differently. You only play 10 games in the regular season. To take 1 full game away should be a punishment reserved for a very serious violation. Taking 2, even worse infractions. It is inconceivable to me that any state would condone robbing a kid of 20% of his senior season for anything less than a real fight where punches were thrown and an official or other players had to intervene to stop the alteracation.

It is a wrong that an errant TN Ref could impact a game between two KY rivals that happens two weeks after his bad decision. But in this case, he has done just that. KY would be well served to reconsider their policy here.

I would if it was a bull crap call like this seems to be.

I see.
Sounds to me like TN is being there usual jackass selves.
You know that ref loved making the phone call to the khsaa to report the diamond kid.
Hell, he was probably from gatlinburg.

Could it be appealed to KHSAA with the film?

I hope KC plays well and wins, but from what I have seen we will have a big hill to climb. Look forward to the atmosphere at Cawood Friday night!!!
#57
i think the rule is too harsh.1 game is maybe justified for a fight involving punches, and the coach should be allowed to choose the game.
#58
Football1 Wrote:The ref ejected him with 50 seconds to go in a game that had already been decided.
Wasnt that game like a 40+ point blowout?

Why was he still in the game anyway?
#59
Nope. Knox won 34-20. GP was on the Knox side of the field. The fear is they score and complete and onside so the starters were still in and rightly so. Stranger things have happened than a team score twice with a minute on the clock. You might be thinking of the 42-7 win we had Friday over our last TN opponent of the season. I am delighted that if we accomplish nothing else this year we destroyed 3 TN teams - two on TN fields. Go Vols... go away.

I'm sure the coaches are digging into every appeal option but to my knowledge the KHSAA does not provide such a process.

I would think Harlan Co will be a slight favorite in this one.....But I'm just glad to see these two teams playing Kentucky teams in KY this week.
