That's about as likely as you posting under your real name.

I agree, harlan is better but still not much. If Middlesboro has fallen that much but start over.

This will be a good game for a bit, but eventually I think Middlesboro's size will take over and the Jackets pull away. I say Middlesboro 56 Harlan 21.

Middlesboro and Harlan are very comparable in size. Harlan actually outsizes the Jackets at some positions. These two teams are very similar in many ways. Harlan's reciever's are a little taller than Middlesboro's. Harlan's o-line is about the same as the Jackets. Harlan's d-line is bigger than Middlesboro's. Chase Roark is a little taller than Saragas at 6'. Both teams o-backfield's are about the same size. Both are primarily passing teams that can run the ball as well. This game is up for grabs. The team that wants it the most will come out on top. I'd honestly say that this will be the most evenly matched game in the state this week.

This is a huge game for both teams, if Harlan gets a win at the 6 million Dollar Man Stadium it will go a long way to making the Dragons realize that they can play with any team on their schedule, a loss however will keep this very talented team searching for who they are. A win for the Jackets takes the sting out of the in county beating that Bell put on them last week, a loss to a top 10 Class A school leaves Coach Frazier and staff with the tough task of trying to get the Boro up to speed while playing in the toughest district in Class AA. It should be a very entertaining game with two top notch QBs directing their respective squads. I see a win for the Boys in Green at a place where that has not happened very often.

2 of the top 5 QBs in the mountains? Saragas is a heady little player, but he ranks 2nd inside his own county. No disrepesct to either, both great kids.

I'm an HC man, but how can you say the kid ranks second in the county when most of his stats are in the top 3 of the entire state? Give some respect.

It depends on what you are looking for,in Harlan Co.. If you want a QB that can run the ball and has blaz'in speed then Brewer is definately the guy,but he can throw well enough to hold his own. If you are looking for a QB that can set the air on fire with his passing game then you gotta go with Saragas who can run the ball well enough to hold his own. We have both ends of the spectrum covered here in Harlan and you'll not find any much better than these two anywhere.

Saragas vs Roark
Saragas (JR)
2 gms 59 36 1 538 6
avg's 30 18 .5 269 3
Roark (SR)
3 gms 81 53 2 862 9
avg's 27 18 .6 287 3
Saragas is a JR,if you put his first two games this season against Roark's first 3 games of his JR year( I figured in his first three because his first game last season was against Alcoa Tn.) it looks like this:
Saragas
2 gms 59 36 1 538 6
avg 30 18 .5 269 3
Roark (first three games of 2010)
3 gms 55 34 2 536 5
avg 18 11 .7 178 1.7
Saragas is on course for a 2,500 to 3,000 yd JR season. Roark had 2,425 yds his JR year.
All these stat's came from the KHSAA web site.

Middlesboro is the better team all the way around and it will show this Friday night , Losing to Harlan is unacceptable.

Allen and bianchi are 6'4" and 6'3" and Young and Morris are 6'2" and 6'0". So it looks like you are right,we"re not bigger,we're the same size. You should have gotten a closer look at the grid. Riddle is a good reciever for you all,and maybe Poindexter. But we feel we have at least 5 weapon's for you to deal with and all 5 caight TD passes last week. We don't go to the same one or two recievers all the time. The Dragon's feel the same way, losing to Middlesboro is unacceptable. Winning this game is huge for us. Hey,if you all beat us i'll be the first to say it and wish you well the rest of the season. Could you do the same?

Dragon's dad, please don't think that I'm saying this as an insult, because I'm not, but that's the smartest thing you've said on here in forever.

Hahaha,Yellowjacketfan I'm not insulted. I'm glad you're finally seeing it my way. I take it you weren't impressed with the stats I posted earlier. I thought you would be the first to reply, but nada word. It's all in good fun YJF. Really, these teams are very similar in characteristic. But for the difference in QB size you could switch out jersey's and not be able to tell the difference. Size wise that is. I've got my opinions about play wise and oh well you know what they are. But that's JMO. Have a good game YJF.

Middlesboro by 14. If Harlan wins, I will be a lot happier about that win in Week 0.

Has Middlesboro fallen so far that Harlan has a chance? I know Harlan is a little better, but we are still talking about Harlan beating middlesboro. wow!

My question would be how in the world has class A ball in the mnts fallen so fast?
Name one real team that can play? Hazard, maybe time will tell. who else? the list gets short fast!

In my opinion, single a football is terrible in the mountains. Take Hazard out of the mix the last few years ( i am not sold on them this year yet) and it would be hard to combine all the rest and have a quality team.
09-08-2011, 08:59 PM
Dragon's Dad, Letcher Central and Clay County from last year are a little stiffer than Pikeville and Williamsburg this year. And if I remember right, at the time Letcher Central was like #7 in the mountains when we upset them.
But we can banter back and forth over stats, they don't mean much. The man thing is what happens on the field tomorrow night and I'm looking forward to a good game. Hopefully Middlesboro pulls away in the 2nd half, but I think the first half will be close. Make sure you come say hello to me before the game. I'll be out there working with the chains and I'll have a white UK hat on.

Let me take Roark as QB, Corbin's line, combine Williamsburg and Middlesboro's wide receivers, Hazard's speedy backfield, and add in Clay, Harlan County, Prestonsburg, Pikeville, and others for defense. I'll gladly coach that bunch of mountain boys against any city school. I guarantee you that the Mountain team would win, simply because the city boys wouldn't want it as much as we would.

As far as Pikeville and Williamsburg not being tough opponents,I don't know about that,They were both 1A top ten teams and Pville is still undefeated. I'll call it even with ya,how bout that? Lets just say what other's have said on this thread, two of the top 5 QB's in the mountains will go head to head tomorrow night. By the way,I will stop and say hey to you. I'll be the guy in the green hat with a white H on it.
