Pike Co. Central 2011

There is 6 guys doing 300lbs are better. That is a fact. But I was wrong about the whole line there is only 4 of them . So I missed it by one. The other two is running backs.

Not bad.... Keeping the weight program in force and it will continue to make the boys stronger and enhance the program..... Are the girls that want to take conditioning at the school allowed to do so?

Not sure if it is still this way but when coach Mac was there they were allowed to but typically they tried to do it during a different period.

There is a specific class period set up for the girls at Belfry. Generally speaking some soccer, some volleyball, and some basketball/softball players (girls) take the class. They are NO girls in any of the boys conditioning classes.... :Thumbs:

I don't think in the 09-10 school year there was a class for the girls. I'm not sure on this school year though I know I heard word of girls having one, but I am not positive.

I was told this was a "title XI" violation if it were not offered for the girls too.... IMHO, it DOES help the girls who are willing to take it as it does the boys! To me, it's a good thing!

I think this season is going to be better then last year. We are stronger faster. And this is the 3rd year under Chapman.

Under Chapman they've always had an I formation for close situations.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Shelby Valley 2000 yard rusher is playing at Pike Central next season? I know he has transferred to Central with Norman.

Someone at work told me he is going to be eligable to play next season, if so this would make Pike Central unstoppable with Boggs throwing the ball.

I did hear about this as well, basically Tim Smith is a senior this year but he doesn't have enough credits to graduate so it is possible he may have another year of eligibility.

The KHSAA would have to approve him tho.

But it is possible he may be playing with PC next season.

I dont think he would be eligible. Considering he will be a 5 year senior next season. His case is almost like Zach Ramey's was. Ramey had family problems and had to home school to take care of his mother. Tim was adopted by Norman last season. Dont know much about the rules. But i did also hear that there was a rule in the KHSAA handbook that says something about being adopted. Can someone please provide this information?

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Granted normal situations yes, a high school player has 4 years of eligibility from the start of June their freshmen season, but if you actually knew something then you would know about the redshirt statuses available under certain situations.

He might be ruled ineligible, but there are other factors that may come in to play. Especially if he has been or is ruled homeless by state laws. They are granted another year of eligiblity in everything, if this is or was the situation.

The Smith kid will be eligable next season, and it looks like Chapman now has a D-1 QB and now D-1 Athlete that can play any position on the football field.

Pike Central could have the talent next season to compete for the state championship. That Smith kid scored on Breathitt on the first play, during a scrimmage, he can flat fly, and only got better as he rushed for 2000 yards as a junior.

If you combine Boggs and this kid, Pike Central would have close to 5000 yards coming back and almost 70 combined touchdowns. WOW

i think belfry still win the district pretty easy only one to play with the pirates is lawrence co,and don,t look for it to be that close.:please:

I, for one, think it may be a little closer than many think. Belfry is always a force to be reckoned with, but they are not unbeatable. It surfaces in my mind frequently that old saying, on a given Friday night, anything can, and will happen.

Based upon what I have read on this venue, it appears that Pike Central and Lawrence County could give Belfry a run for their money.

Well, we will not definitely know until they're on the field. I'm looking forward to the 2011 season.
