5throundball Wrote:What region are you all talking about anyway? The title of thread is misleading. I doubt any of these players would be in the top 10 in the state.
Just for your INFO...
Hobo McCoy was the leading scorer in the state.
And INHO...Josh Green was pretty Freaking close to the Top10 in the State.
I also think we have a few more pretty decent players in this Region.

It didn't have 15th Region at the beginning. That's why I included the 14th.

Top 10 in the state? McCoy is a good scorer, but I doubt that, If he is then he is #9 or 10. And Green? I seen him at a preseason classic and wasn't impressed at all. Far from top 10 in the state.

LOL....Would you PLEASE quit talking about that preseason Scrimmage. Is that the only game that you have seen this year? That game meant absolutely NOTHING! They didn't play each other this season. BUT, I would have taken the Tigers over LC any day.
Hobo hasn't been stopped ALL season. No matter who he has faced. He is just a scoring machine. Plain and simple.
Josh Green, the one you weren't impressed with, Has lead his team in scoring, rebounds and Free Throws for three straight season. I may have been exagerating a little when I said Top 10. BUT, IMO and the opinion of EVERY Team that he has played against. He IS the MOST underated player in the Region and EKY. I have heard many many coaches, after a game, shake his hand and tell him that he is one of the best players that they have coached against. Just because the kid isn't 6'5" and jumping out the gym posterizing people, doesn't mean he can't play the game. You ask ANY Coach or team he has played against if they would like to have him on their team. They will tell you YES in a blink of an eye. So don't put the kid down because of the first pre-season scrimmage of the year. I may be a little bias. BUT, I have watched this kid school teams since he was in the 5th grade and get NO recognition, when he absolutely deserves it!

I am not disagreeing when you say he is underrated. He may have been. But he is nowhere close to top 10 in the state. Hobo hasn't been stopped all season. But look at the region he plays in. The 15th Region was without a doubt the weakest in the state this year and some people I know that went to the 15th region tourney say that the 5th or 6th teams in the 16th could have won it. And LC played bad too in that scrimmage. I'd take LC over Paintsville this year. Especially after Tiller quit. That kid is a player. Hard to replace I'd say.

The 15th is down, however they(Betsy Lane) kept the All A Classic title in the region for the 3rd straight year. Oh yeah who won the State Tournament last year, SHELBY VALLEY of the 15th. Everyone needs to quit dissing it so hard, what has the 16th done lately in the All A or the State Tourney, nothing.
Hobo is the state's leading scorer, is he the top player in the state, NO. He does deserve consideration for the All State team as he was extremely consistent night in and night out against double and triple team defenses.

I said this year. Not last. And the 15th wouldn't look so bad if they didn't have SV repping them this year in the Sweet 16. It's been a down year for the 15th aside from the All "A" title won by BL.

Just for your info....Paintsville's PPG went up almost 20 points a game after he quit and Green went to almost 30 PPG. So I would Take Paintsville by double digits over LC without him.
And I Highly Doubt that....lol.
