Knott County Central 53 - Hazard 46 (14th Region - 1st RD)
#31
KCC has a real life chance of winning region IMO.
The roid boy is back, #12... Watch out.....
#32
Congrats Pats on the big win, and Congrats Hazard for a good season!

zaga_fan Wrote:That was pretty disgraceful....
and then not coming out to get the trophy was pretty low.....
Knott definitely deserved this one.

Davis's 3 at the end of the 3rd was tough.

Hazard is 1-8 against Knott in the last 3 years!
When is the last time Hazard took a first round exit?

I said in the Perry-Hazard recap thread that Hazard would be lining up the seats in the finals but would not be playing for it.

Looks like I was right Wink

2001 - Knott County beat 'em 72-70 in OT.
2003 - Powell County beat them 63-60.

How else do you get healed that fast?????? and put on 30 lbs of muscle over a summer? good question.

I'm not insinuating that he is on roids or that I know knowledge of him being on roids.. He just looks like he is lol..

I can't believe Hazard gave up with 30 seconds on the clock.. Back just started walking off the court.. I knew they we're giving up.. Hate to see Hazards season end like that (especially at home)... I think it had a lot to do with Hazards fan base too.. The student section we're dressed as mimes and wasn't the hardcore, screaming, yelling, Haz fans they usually are. No energy was given in this game..

Zach is a hard working kid! He spends hours on and off court working on game and working on building strength! Ask anyone who actually knows him! Don't start stuff on here about something you know nothing about!
#38
I will say this....
The energy was not what I thought it would be at this game.

Hazard's fans really didn't get into it and pretty much remained silent during the game.
Knott's fans tried to get into it a little more but neither of these teams set the atmosphere like they are known for doing.

Note to Knott fans :
You do NOT have a dynasty lol
I take it they were doing the whole dynasty thing to poke fun at Hazard but Knott has 1 title in 15 years. That's not a dynasty Wink

Crazy Horse Wrote:Tuned in at halftime and when I heard the Davis was playing I was in absolute shock. With him back it makes it twice as hard to defend them. IMO Hazard is the best defenseive team as far as just guarding you in this region, and look what Knott was able to do. With him back now I believe that they have a ligitament shot at winning region. To beat Perry you got to beat them shooting jump shots cause nno one is going to beat them around the rim. With Davis back that gives Knott plenty of shooters to be able to. Hope we get to see another KCC and PCC finals, which I believe it will easily be. But we will have to wait and see what the Cougars of Letcher Central have to say about that.

How do you Know so much Crazy horse? Hazard the best defensive team Look at the points they have given up this year.:please:

I'm not so sure that is what they meant by holding the sign up zaga.. but ok.

Hazard fans have held up the dynasty symbol for a few years.
I'm 100% sure that's what they were doing.

I thought Knott's pep section was one of the best!
And it was definitely to poke fun at Hazard's dynasty..
#43
Hazard's pep section as well as fan section was one word-WEAK.

The mime thing didn't make sense.. and they didn't even fill their side of the gym.

Surprising for sure.
#44
I could understand Hazard knowing the meaning of dynasty and the symbol.. but not Knott lol...

warmachine Wrote:Total shocker to me. I didnt know Zach Davis would be back. Zach Davis to me was the best player in the region before he got hurt. He is a brute and he has it all in basketball skills, good size for a guard, good shooter, ball handler, rebounder, you name it. The kid knows the game. Glad to see him back. This will make the Perry game very interesting.

I agree. I hate to see any player get injured, especially one of Zacks caliber.

You would be 100% wrong... that was not at all what they were doing.

But it brings up an interesting point, because over the past two years, in terms of season games, Knott has had a dynasty over Hazard. 7-0 over the last two seasons. Pretty impressive.

They've had Hazards number, but definitely not a dynasty Big Grin

Aslan Wrote:They've had Hazards number, but definitely not a dynasty Big Grin

I know, and KCC acknowledges that, but that is still an impressive record, and actually, they are 8-1 over the last three years, the one loss being in OT. The only team in the 14th that has a dynasty is Hazard, but at the same time, they are also the oldest school, so it isn't very surprising.

Aslan Wrote:To me it's surprising they've maintained this kind of success with their low enrollment.

Their an inner-city school... Give me a break.

It was a compliment to Hazard, not a jab. Jenkins is an inner city school and have had no recent success.

Strikeout King Wrote:we're not weak. you may think that we're weak bc of some of the close games we lost, but we're not weak.

knott should win this game by double digits, easily. estill played a weak schedule. hazard, woodford county, and madison southern were probably three of the best teams they played. all three beat estill by 19 or more.

HeGotGame Wrote:I agree. I think the Estill/Knott game will be closer than some think. It's hard to "roll" past any team during tourney time.

not really. i've seen many double digit defeats in regional tournaments. already seen two in this one. i will admit, sometimes a double digit win isn't "rolling" but they're also not close games.

Oh what's the populus there in the entire city? 500? Hazard is bigger than you think Aslan..
They have their picks of athletic talent..
PCC is just so big, that a lot of the athleticism they have, isn't shown but is lost.

Not sure if you understand where I'm going with this, but ok.

Well I specifically heard fans shouting dynasty as they were making the symbol.
I'm well aware of what else that symbol could mean but the fact that they shouted dynasty specifically has altered my judgement.

In other news: The Jenkins dynasty continues over Riverside Christian this year

No, I don't know where you're going with this, lol.
Hazards enrollment is just in the 200s, one of the smallest in the region.

The city of Hazard's population is what I meant, Aslan..
I would have to explain in PM or public, not on here lol...

They might have done that, but no one cared about making fun of Hazard's dynasty. Why make fun of it? What's there to make fun of? They've earned their wins and have our respect for it, you can't deny that.

And your counter argument can be said for the majority of the state, not to be mean, but that's not that same caliber of accomplishment I was going for.

Dynasty = Championships
Consistently beating one team = Consistently beating one team
Consistently beating one team < Dynasty
