Boyle County rolls in this one. Seems to be getting better every week.
11-17-2010, 03:14 PM
This team has shown more improvement from the start of the season until now than any team i can remember for Boyle co,and im not sure if they have peaked yet or not.they seem to get better every week.i have said it befor and ill say it again this years team is better than last years team.

As far as when the game is played. Amnews and Khsaa both are saying that is is on Friday night.
11-17-2010, 06:37 PM
To clear up the confusion. The game date is 11/19, not 11/20. Therefore, the game in on a Friday.

After reading the kentucky.com artical i cant understand how a team can be so cocky after being beat so badly by Boyle co.its almost disrespectfull to Boyle the way they talked in the artical.this sounds like good bulletin board material to me.i hope they do bring this attitude with them cause its gonna ugly for catholic friday night.

didn't sound too cocky to me. they basically said that they won't be intimidated at all and that if they win they have to be at their absolute best. Really don't think thats disrespectful IMO

When your starting linebacker says that when they take the field friday they know they have the best team, and a few plays here or there would have made the game totally different.thats cocky and disrespectfull if they respected Boyle these things would not have been said.i dont recall him complimenting Boyle at all or giving Boyle any credit for thier play in the first meeting .the artical has been printed and will be posted in Boyles locker room in the morning.my nephew plays for Boyle and its fired him and some of his team mates up this evening we will see what the rest of the team thinks about it tomarrow.good luck friday cause Lex.caths.gonna need it.

I have been looking at some stats from different teams that are playing Friday.
Lex Cath has given up 362 pts in 12 games this year. Is that right? Thats giving up 30.1 ppg!!!
Do they have any type of D at all? No disrepect to Lex Cath but for a team playing for a Regional Title should be a little better than this on D.

Their Defense is not like Lex Cath defenses in the past. However you have to factor in their schedule too. They have played Trinity, St X and Boyle which I doubt any other team (even Highlands IMO) have played as challenging a threesome that could lay points and wood like those 3. That will skew anyone's stats.

That Kentucky .com artical has not only fired up the players, but also the fans of Boyle Co.
Lets go back to that hammer thing with East Jessamine, and look what happen to them.

I had to go back and re-read this.
Its all in the full context. And when the words and full quote are read in context it is actually very respectful of Boyle County football. Now, the LHL did chop the article right where it loses its context and if you read only the 2nd page - it looks bad, granted.
But here is the full quote with proper context. Including the lead in from Fields...
On paper and in the ratings, the Rebels are a decided favorite. But don't suggest that to Lexington Catholic senior linebacker/tight end Nate Letton.
"We're not going into this game thinking we're underdogs," he said. "Boyle County is one of the hardest places to play, and you can't go in with any psychological down-play on yourself at all.
[article cut here from front page to back page]
"We'll absolutely be thinking we're the best team when we walk into that stadium Friday night."
The quote is about mental preparation that must come with being the acknowledged underdog. Its called the power of positive thinking!

Here's a look at schedules:
Boyle has defeated 9 teams with winning records: Johnson Central (36-29), Franklin County (51-20), Corbin (42-10), Danville (28-7), Lafayette (40-0), Lexington Catholic (42-10), West Jessamine (45-6), East Jessamine (28-13), Christian County (49-33).
Lex Cath has defeated : LCA (62-0), East Jessamine (46-40), West Jessamine (42-26).
I did not include playoff wins.
No one has defeated Boyle yet.
Lex Cath has lost to: Cov Cath (54-21), St. X (37-0), Lone Oak (33-25), Boyle (42-10), Trinity (56-7).
First thing that jumps at me is that Boyle has played 9 teams with winning records and won them all. (Also note that as of the Regional Finals 5 of those teams are still alive in the playoffs)
Lex Cath has played 8 teams with winning records and defeated 3 of them.
Two pretty tough schedules for both squads.

I still havent read where he gave the Boyle team any credit for the out come of the first game.there are two sides or views to every story. you see it your way i see it mine, and unfortunatly for catholic the Boyle team sees it my way it was definately bulletin board material believe me they are fired up over it,and im sure they will vent themselves on the field friday night.
