I live a life that many would love to have....So don't worry about me there...I'll give respect where it's due, so why does Magoffin deserve any respect? The stats are factual, and opinions are not...Am I missing something? Please let me know...

cause simply they are kids that try hard with very little talent base to work with is why they deserve respect

I think the 15th will be wide open this year as well. A couple of teams have talent returning but nobody stands out as the clear favorite.
Allen Central-Has maybe the most coming back in Turner, Little, Jacobs
Pikeville- Well there always going to be Pikeville. Huffman and Anderson are the best 1-2 in the region pitching wise.
Johnson Central-Mark my word , will be dangerous. Most of there team knows what its like and feels to be on the big stage. Justin Blanton, Matt Fyfe and Plummer are there top returnee's
Paintsville- Lost alot last year but trust me they have kids that are ready to fill the shoes. Pugh, Logan Barker, Subblet, Vanhoose will keep them close to everyone else
Sheldon Clark-Seems like the last couple years they should be the favorite on paper but have yet to come through. Braxton Lafferty,Daniel Harless,Brandon May are the players on there team but after that the well looks dry.
Thats my top 5 but in no order

What about Prestonsburg. They are returnign Brwenton Hamilton, Josh Rodebaugh, Nick McGurie, Andrew Shephard, Tyler Layne. All these people played last year and are very good. I dont know about the top two pitching. Rodie and Bam will give them a run for their money any day. Rodie and bamd is jodh rodebaugh and brenton hamilton in case your wandering.:wenumber1

Yeah that is very true if anything would happen prestonsburg will win district this year and be make a good run at region. they will come together this year and play ball the way it should be played
12-06-2005, 06:51 PM
I'm not being a home-rooter or anything, but Allen Central will walk through the 58th District and make a legitimate run for their 2nd 15th Region Championship. If anyone is to come close to AC in the District, it will be Prestonsburg, but I don't see them making any kind of "run" as far as region goes. AC and Pikeville are clearly the top 2 teams (pre-season), with Johnson Central, Sheldon Clark, and Paintsville a close 3-5.

Paintsville lost LeMaster, Hess, Young 1 & Young 2, and Hensley. They may have some trouble enext season after losing those players, but they do return Grimm, VanHoose, Williams, Sublett, and Brown.

Every new season in any sport that rolls around someone makes a statement that Landon Slone will be playing in it. And every new season that rolls around ol Landon finds out that he aint the star in that sport and ends up not playing. He found out that he is not a baseball player, just as he found out he dont have the guts to play football.:lmao:
Landon is a good athlete..and in a way i wouldnt blame him if he didnt play any other sports besides basketball. Everyone knows he has a promising future with basketball. Saying the kid doesnt have guts to play football is just an ignorant remark, plain and simple.

Both are decent players but can not compare to huffman, Blanton, Little and the others listed by most posters. Prestonsburg will do no better than 3nd in the 58th. AC being first and BL 2nd.

Lawrence County will be very young but look for Coach Keeton to have them ready to play by the time the district tournament rolls around.
12-20-2005, 04:34 PM
Allen Central & Pikeville will be the frontrunners. Lawrence, Johnson Central, Paintsville, and SC will be rough around the edges but very competitive come tournament time. Prestonsburg, Betsy Layne, Belfry, and East Ridge are all teams that could be sleepers and pull some upsets if they are playing great baseball. Coaching along with good fundamentals made solid teams year in and year out so that will give these teams in the front a little edge over the rest until they can prove themselves.

I think ER is coming in a little underrated by not being in some peoples top 10.

you may have beaten us last year but y in the world didnt u schedule us a game or two this year??? ohh yea lol its becuase u lost 8 out of 9 of ur plyers this year and are jsut afraid of getting beat.
02-21-2006, 10:11 PM
Ur coach wants the draw cause he's afriaid of gettin beat year in and year out. But wait, it really doesn't matter either way does it? hahah....Sorry Johnson Central has more important games to schedule than a less than mediocre practice date with Magoffin Co. Get off the bashing JC horse, it doesn't have any legs.

"alfus21" Wrote:I hate to do this, because for some reason Magoffin County is a sensitive subject for some right now, but I feel like I need to put things in perspective about last years big winning season which was actually 12-9...
One win over a team with a winning record which was Prestonsburg(1st game of the season)
4 wins on the season came against Elliot County who finished 1-22
2 more wins came agasint Riverside Christian who finished 0-4
4 more wins came agasinst South Floyd who went 3-22
the other huge win was against Wolfe who went 6-11
12 wins against 5 different teams...10 wins came against three teams who combined for a 4-48 record....Take away the Prestonsburg win and the record of opponents they beat was 10-59...Even with the Prestonsburg win it's 27-70....
it is not that it is a "touchy" sunject it is that you are a pure butt hole!! any one can see that.. i mean come on like an earler post said get a life

We could have been like Magoffin and scheduled South Floyd and Elliot County four times and also added powerhouses like Riverside Christian,Wolfe County and Rose Hill like the mighty Hornets did last year. Magoffin County has NEVER defeated Johnson Central on the baseball diamond and they NEVER will. It's useless to even play Magoffin and that why there not on the schedule for this upcoming season. This is off topic but can any Magoffin fans spell on here?
