Bell Co. @ Harlan Co. 10/29
BB CLAW Wrote:Holy cow! Look, the fact is Bell has a very powerful team that will contend for a state championship. Bell fans are proud and very proud and should be. Bell should go into every game with the mindset that they will win. Every team should. Harlan County is a rising program that have shown and proved that they have a great team as well. HC also goes into every Friday Night with the same mindset that they will win. The HC Black Bear Nation is proud of the accomplishments of their team so far in these three years of existence and especially this year. Have the Bears built good enough to beat Bell County? I think the Bears will be a bigger problem for Bell than what most are thinking. I for one have faith in the Black Bears and the future Black Bear Program, just like Bell fans have for their team. No doubt Bell has IMO one of the best teams in the state. This group of Bell Seniors are a very talented group, as good as any across the state. Harlan County will have to play a flawless game and also play their best game of the year to be in the game. Can they? I think they can and will. What is wrong with me in thinking and believing this. Yes, this game has potential to be big. The HC and BC fans all love football and we may get to see the game of the year here in Harlan County. Nondistrict, but huge. Again, I think my Bears will give Bell all they want and could beat Bell. Bell fans think otherwise and thats their perogative. Nontheless, both of these teams will have great playoff potential. I hope both go to the state championship and win. This Friday Night I hope all the Bears are healthy and all the Bobcats are healthy and they go at it and in the end, I hope all are still free of injuries. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!

Good post BB CLAW. I wish all could posted comments like this. And to answer your question, there wasn't one single thing wrong with believing your team could win this game. That's all part of being a fan. I don't look for Harlan Co. to beat us, but then again, I don't know very much of anything. Good luck to you team Friday night. Calling it a night. Hope to carry on with this thread again tomorrow.
Not sure how long it was. You bring up a good point.

So are you gonna win your class title in the same amount of time ?

Honestly was hoping that by now you would be elite among your class. Own this region and start development for the likes of Cov Cath / Highlands so on. To get some titles. be great to have our mountian area teams win them. All in the same year.

Hazard 1A
Corbin 2A
Somerset 3A
Bell Co 4A
Harlan Co 5A

You want to be Elite? You want respect? You want to matter?

Then keep up your part of the "List", stop worring about Bell, KC and those who arent your class, forget the talk, the rankings , the retoric. Play ball win the title

Hazard 1A
Corbin 2A
Somerset 3A
Bell Co 4A
Harlan Co 5A KEEP UP YOUR END

Your Region 4,
Highlands is Region 3.

HC would get to host ... you wanna make a statement ... WIN your playoffs, set up a Home game against Highlands  theres a true chance

Here, don't see how you can have a better path laid out, you own the home field threw out to the state title game.

Home - Mercer Co
Home - winner (Southwestern / Whitley)
Home - winner (Pulaski / Clay)
Home - Region 3 champ (Highlands ?)
WKU - Title game

I still have family up that way, we can do it their and Let our own Coach Mills do it. You all have seen the pre-game speech before Bell, you know he is sensitive.

It's a funny video on youtube about TN and Alabama and I thought it would be funny just assumed most every had seen the video. I do not hate bell kids! Seriously me and the Perry Central guys really got at one another, just a joke noting but a joke! And I do believe I lead off my last post giving bell credit! What don't I get? I'm missing something! Yes some HC posters get crazy over not getting picked to win, but I said SOME bell fans belittle people for picking against bell. Why is it I can say almost the same thing you said and be told I need to grow up a little. And rest of your post reads similar to mine about winning mentality. Apparently if I don't post something insane people think it's boring and don't read it.

I don't think many people in Bell Co. would watch anything about UT???? That would be like talking good about Corbin or something?
Bell Co. 31-13.
This will be without a doubt the toughest game that Bell County has played all season! With Harlan County being at home it gives them the opportunity to win but I just don't see them dethroning the Bobcats this year! Should be an outright dogfight!!

Bell Co. - 28

Harlan Co. - 17

Are you kidding me? Bells toughest game., Knox, Johnson Central, Soddy Dog or some team in Tenn. Green Co. would rank up there. I have all the respect in the world for Bell football program. Harlan Co. is good and congrats on District title, but IMO not in Bells league yet. The same goes for my colonels, I thought we were there, not so fast my friend. NOT IN THERE LEAGUE YET

Yeah it will be Bell's toughest game, Harlan County is Red Hot right now and playing as good as just about anyone around! They will give them a better game then Knox Central did especially since this is a home game and Senior Night for Harlan County!

Don't think so. Knox @ Knox was pretty darn tough, I would guess for the Bobcats. That was the best atmosphere I have ever seen for a game in the regular season or anytime at our place in Barborville.

Well I do think so. You have your opinion and I have mine, can't wait till Friday!

And the days are counting down. Can we agree that this game is the biggest game in the history of the consolidated Harlan Co. school? Think about it before you answer.......

I agree with you William. Not only is Knox our toughest opponent hands down, they are also our district rival. Knox was/is our toughest challenge of the season hands down. And not to boast Knox's ego but they pretty much enforced their will against Harlan County in the grid this year when both teams had their first string in. That was very obvious to see.

Clay pretty much had their way with Bell offensively that night too. Do you really think Clay could play with Bell?
Yogibear Wrote:Clay pretty much had their way with Bell offensively that night too. Do you really think Clay could play with Bell?

'No. And we scored at will against them. Don't remember that happening in the knox/harlan game.
Yogibear Wrote:Clay pretty much had their way with Bell offensively that night too. Do you really think Clay could play with Bell?

You are judging that off of 2 series? That is all Bell's starters played that night in the grid.

I think Harlan Co's weak schedule will catch-up them.

Pulaski is by far the best team they played.

Clay is pretty good at times but are classic Jekyll and Hyde.

Whitley is decent and I think led HC in the the 2nd half?

PCC is well, shall we say overrated.

Then the rest, none of which are very good.

Leslie, Lee High Va., Powell Valley, NL and LCC.

I failed to mention that Bell only played their first string for two series. Thanks for pointing that out.
I hate to say this because I have friends from every school in this district but the Harlan County district is fairly weak. No one stepped up as the season went on except Harlan County. So, I'll give them credit for that....
Put Bell or Knox in that district and they win it without a doubt IMO.
Only 3 days away after today. Lets pray both teams to have a good and safe practice these next couple of days so they can come out both on Friday night healthy and prepared to give us a good show.

Always first wish should be, good health for all the kids that will be playing Friday night. And after the game they conduct themselves as the fine young men they are. And lastly, the least important part of all is, NO EXCUSES. Whoever wins, wins......

Are you serious dude? I don't believe in the Grid at all. It is a sham to make money for a conference that is a sham because no one will play Bell and now no one will schedule HC for 2011-12 except Bell. I was just making a point that to judge off a scrimmage that is not even a real scrimmage is just silly. You make your judgement off three series between HC and KC (7-0 Score). One of which when HC had the ball the clock was running out. Base your judgements on that all you want. I was just being sarcastic about it all.

Are you serious about that weak schedule stuff? When will it catch up to knox. South Laurel, Clay (who you all say is in a weak district, but they almost beat you), WILLIAMSBURG, Middlesboro, Madison Southern, MCreary Central. And to top it all off you close out with the other Harlan. You have played two teams. Bell and JC. How does that make KC's schedule any better than HC's. I promise you PV Va could play right with all those teams on there with the exception Clay Co. I respect what Bell has done. They arrived a long time ago. Knox, just like HC, has not yet.
Ok, well who wins and why? Forget the team schedules so far. Forget the district they play in. Forget the history of these two in the past years. Everyone should state their case as to who wins this game. Please do so by this head to head matchup and not what each has done during the rest of the year..... Let's hear it.

This is what the case should be in every thread but somewhere along the line KC joined in and someone from Bell started blowing the trumpet for them. That is what was irritating most people. As for the game, I predict a great competition between two very good coaches, who have their teams playing very hard.

But you forgot your prediction.....
I'll give you mine. Bell wins due to their speed, quickness, talent, size, and experience. This is one of the most talented groups Bell has put on the field and that's saying a lot. I look for a 2-3 td difference. Good luck to both teams and let us hope both come out injury free.

I'll let the players decide the score. I just hope for both teams to come out of it healthier and wiser and ready for the playoffs.
Harlan County will win this one by a nail-bitter!!!!!
Where's the Momma Bears at? They'll for sure give their prediction and why..Come on! Where are you Momma's at?

Just like Clay did with Bell in the grid, so throw that one out the window! Some people need to think about what they are saying before they post!:flush:
