HeyJjeepman it appears that Russell has the same problem playing in the division they belong. Mercer did win their 5 A district by going undefeated in 08. They wiil be in 4 A next year what about Russell. I guess when Russell beat Owensboro Catholic in 2005 for the State Title that Catholic could say the same thing about Russell being in the right class now. Catholic is still playing in 2A. Newport could say the same thing when Russell beat them in overtime in 2005. Newport is still 2A. Get over it.

It was on this site. And I think the "straight jacket" he's probably in now prevents him from responding.

It appears to me that when you graduate 20+ seniors the next year may be rough. It appears to me that when the most talented team ever at a school leaves it is tough to replace. As long as I can remember you have always tried to take away from what they accomplished. They didn't ask to play in 2A that year and they beat 2A and 3A schools that whole year. Maybe even a 4A school as well. Get over it already.

I think he wants to play qb where I heard the other one didn't want to play qb in the 1st place. Mercer still has the fastest kid in the state in the backfield along with the kid that finished 6th in in the state. They also have the Banks kid that started at fb last year but hasnt played much offense this year.
Come on man. I know day and evey kid you are talking about. Dexter Banks up the middle is dead against BC. D-E-A-D. He isn't fast enough to get outside. How many carries did Burris get last week? He runs too far outside and isn't strong or quick enough to elude 4 BC defenders. And yeah, I like Lewis. Great kid, but if Guay didn't want to play qb(which he did want to play) but Lewis was still the backup why should I believe a sophomore making his first start will be better. BC isn't Anderson County. I pray Lewis doesn't scramble too much tomorrow. I fear what happens when his small frame meets up with Cook, Dawson and Ferrell. In the next year or two Mercer will win this matchup and could run off a 5 year winning streak. Tomorrow, 7 points should be a moral victory.

DDP5 Wrote:Danville could be a huge threat if they don't figure out how to cover the deep ball. From what I saw at Corbin and heard about their other two games just line up and throw it deep every play. Yea you will have several three and outs but you will also put up 21-28 points and give yourself a shot.
You are a week early but I'll bite.......Somerset didn't give him time to throw. I am sure we won't either. I'd like to think Boyle is as good as Somerset. I no longer fear Danville.

You dont seem to have much faith in our Rebels over the next 5 yrs.I dont think Mercer will ever win 5 in a row much less 2 in a row against Boyle,as long as our coaching staff stays togather.wheres the faith.

I agree with you. I think Boyle County could fade off for a bit after this year but no so bad that Mercer County wins 5 in a row.

Mercer has a lot of talent at 6-9 grade and those boys have had their way with our boys at that level like never before. I didn't say it would happen but it is possible. I don't know much after the Boyle sophomores on down. I hope the young Rebels surprise me because Mercer should be getting a lot better and soon.

The soph's last year as Freshman beat Mercer by over 40 pts. Not sure about this years frosh vs them. I know they are struggling a bit. BC 7th grade class pretty good. QB has a chance to be very, very good.

I wouldn't laugh while Mercers pass game probably isn't that good, Danville's is def. better then corbin's and johnson centrals, and number 11 for the Ads is faster then any of those teams receivers, plus the rebels will be without a starting safety in a shaky secondary as it is. I would feel a threat from Danville or any team with speed and can throw the ball. FYI I'm not saying they will get beat by any team that can throw it just saying I wouldn't count the other team out. You have to admit from the games so far that when the ball goes deep you hold your breathe.

by the way I enjoy watching the Rebels with the best but while watching my team, your team and any other team I am also realistic into what the teams weaknesses are. I hope you can finish the year out 10-0 then go undefeated in the playoffs since I am a huge French fan. I think he is one of the best coaches in the state, and you will never hear an ill thing being said towards him, that's pretty big this day in age.

Purple Pride in 1996 Harrodburg coached by Alvis Johnson had 4 players that signed D 1 and they still didn't win it all. That was the most talented team.

Yeah. Harrodsburg's most talented team. The 2006 team was Mercer County's most talented team ever. They have yet to replace that talent but they are on their way.

I doubt Danvilles passing game is even close to Corbins.Danville has never acceld at throwing the foot ball, but i do have alot of respect for the Danville program.

The 2006 Mercer team you speak of struggled mightaly against a very weak Boyle co. team coached by chris pardue.you could have taken two or three plays out of that game, and Mercer probably wouldnt have had a 100 yds total offense.if Boyle had been up to par and well coached.Boyle would have blown Mercer out.Harrodsburg has had several teams that were better than mercers 2006 team.i know its like beating a dead horse but if Mercer had played in its proper class they would never have made it to louisville much less won a state title.I dont think mercers 2006 team could have even competed with last years Boyle team or this years team either.they were just lucky enough to consolidate at the right, and benifit from it.

I look for Thielemann and McGilligan to have huge games up front tonight. With the middle taken care of, Cook and Dawson will have a field day on the edges. BC by 48.

Coach Jaggers took his 1993 class 3A Lincoln County team to the State Finals that beat Larry French's Meade County team and Bowling Green as well as Warren Central in the playoffs and he stated that the 2006 team was better. They won their 5 playoff games that year by a score of 211 to 40.
