Central boosters in one post talk about their incredible numbers and depth; yet in another post, they say they 'nearly won' but for injuries to key players. Either you have the depth or you don't. In your last game of 2009 and with your self-described stable of future D1 stars, Central completed one pass for 27 yards. To me, that would be enough to mute the public bravado and send a sobering signal there was much work to do.

Almost, nearly, etc. is not winning. And all of us, at times, make excuses for whatever, but the final score is what counts. I have, over the years, seen a few legitimate excuses for a "nearly won" situation, but, again, bottom line, it goes in the record book as a L.

first off im in no way a central fan,in fact you read my post and i question coach Ty and his strategy.i think central has such superior speed and athletes that an average coach just has to somewhat line them up in organize chaos.as far as depth goes, last year when Spencer Co. traveled to Central the Yellowjackets dressed close to 40 freshman.Coach Ty has gave kids in that area something to be proud of and younger kids are taking notice and want to play for a winning program. To ignore this fact is stupid. As long as Ty is there Central will be in the conversation come early December.Fans in SE KY can say what you want but until Central is reclassified to 4a you need to be used to hearing about them, and im no central fan.

I would worry less about where the players are going to and more about WHY they would be leaving Breathitt. That would be of more concern to me.

PT will be a hard out if they can return to the form they had in the playoffs. They certainly retrun enough to get it done. They retrun 7 of offense and 7 on defense based on their roster posted onthe KHSAA for the title game that list starters. They do lose the Jackson kid who ran their wildcat formation and that is a giant loss. I credit the use of the wildcat to PT winning the title last year. They do return Sam Jackson but I think he is a far cry from making the offense go like Jackson did in the wildcat. Their offensive and defensive lines should be much better as they only lost 1 offensive lineman to graducation and that is enough for me to think they should be better than last year and the favorite to repeat unless they return to the team that almost self destructed in the regular season. Union should also be a tough out in the west and I doubt Russellville will be one to take lightly. All that said I have no idea about the rest of the state but PT looks like a team that should be one of the favorites given that they return so much

I am unsold on him but I am not saying I doubt you but how about a link. Until they went with Jackson running the wildcat PT was headed to the gym for basketball.

That would be Sam Cox, not Sam Jackson @ QB. Tilghman would not have won at Russellville w/o a clutch TD pass that Cox threw. PT can put JD Harmon and or Rashad Brown or a soph lefty at QB for the WIldcat. Many of the 09 graduates rotated with underclassmen so it was about equal when it came to playing time. PT was never a great team, just fast. They should have withering speed this fall with a much improved O-line.

PT will be fine but Sam has not shown me much. Against us he was horriffic and in the title game it was the wildcat that did the damage. Anyway I look forward to see if you guys can stack up with is and hope we are both in BG

Central High School is ready to resume its domination of 3A this year. They are loaded with young talent, and Coach Scroggins knows how to mold it. :1:

MC - I think your observations are on point. Fans saw the issues early last year.

I agree 100% with the statement "Friday nights is where it's proven"
I don't think I've seen any games won on BGR! And last years' games are meaningless; that's history.

Should be wide open again. 3A has no dominant team and there are several teams that can compete for the title.

3A seems to be a very competitive class. There are some pretty fair 3A teams in Eastern, KY!

Yes, they've had a very very impressive run since the realignment. Anything less than dominant would be an understatement. No one is questioning that but how does past accomplishments solidify them as the "favorite"? PT beat them last year and returns a ton of talent off a state championship team. Does Central's past accomplishments override the returning talent of PT? Im gonna give the nod to PT as the preseason favorite to win AAA.

That was before realignment I don't recall a Louisville team being in 3a at that time, at first all the af/am kids in Louisville wanted (& some of them still do) to go to x trinity & male, now Central gets those kids a previuos poster stated somewhat sarcastically they didn't believe they have the #s stated previously BELIEVE me PLEASE when I tell you they started 11 freshmen last year that BELIEVE me those guys would start at any of the 3a school out in the state. They have about 70 fresh & sophomores with some very good upperclassem as well . PT will have to come to he hive if both teams perform as expected Central has never lost against a 3a opponent at home EVER(since realignment) they lost 21-7 to bowling green @ the hive before realignment.I was at the 95 or 96 state championship games and was very very impressed w/ breathitt ( beat fk & Derrick Homer) but at that time Central was beating Male & Trinity on back to back weekends. Central will be huge, fast, deep & talented, & experienced , they almost beat pt at pt without Patterson & king. I won't comment on this again Ill let you see for yourself.

Of course they are not unbeatable I did include the ONE loss last year they also have lost to St x highlands, Henry clay, some other 6a powers but also have v's over Male, and Ballard.

Zilch.

Central IS dominate in 3A.....dominate doesnt mean unbeatable.
Central is 20-1 vs 3A
They have won 2 of 3 state championships.
They have been in atleast 3 straight final fours
