No disrespect to Bell, but it was pretty obvious that Boyle was a BIG step up from what they were used to playing. I think that playing Lex Cath twice this season really prepared Boyle for this type of game. Bell played one big time opponent to open the season and was routed. That didn't do much to prepare them for a smash mouth game in November.

The late hit was definitely called on #10 Madon. He was playing safety. I was standing in the endzone and it happened right in front of me. Of course, I didn't like the call, but I don't like anything called against my team. LOL. The headbutt happened right in front of me as well, and definitely could have been a 15 yarder on Bell. Overall, as said before, I think the refs wanted it decided on the field. I usually just read on these boards, but I want to give Boyle the credit they deserve. They are one good football team. Good Luck next week from a Bell fan through and through.

Can't give any credit can you? :please:
Kickers and penalties had nothing to do with shutting down Bell's rushing attack (85 yards) ALL GAME! I guess they didn't get "smacked in the mouth on those rushes, huh? :HitWall:
Have some class like other Bell supporters on here and Boyle supporters last year when we said, "Congrats and went on." The shoe is just on a different shoe this year.

Exactly. It must have been a hidden conspiracy of "if's and but's."
Most all of the fans of Bell have been great in this post game thread and I applaud them. This rant was drivel and if a Boyle fan posted it last year he too would have been castigated.

In response to logmountainboy64, I did some more looking at things.
2 plays, both passes, accounted for 89 of the total 207 Bell yards. 89!!!
That means that the other 28 rushes and 12 pass plays gained a total of 118 yards. (that's less than 3 yards per play run) Who smacked who in the mouth in either half?
Both teams had great defenses that played wonderfully and credit should be given to both for it.

I don't think Barsotti has had to kick one. This was the only team that held Rees even for one quarter. Hats off to our "Mr. Football". Go job Rees, way to run that ball! Rees, Boone, and our kids are really good kids and deserves the very best. Go job Coach Hester, best D coach in the state!!

That was especially true in the 2nd half. When two big rushing teams face off and one goes for OVER 200 yards and one is held UNDER 100 yards, "whose butt do you think was being kicked?" :please:So "nearly escaped a butt whipping" may have been a stretch considering the stats - but seeing the game, knowing the score, and having the bad taste in my mouth from watching that lady stand over two Bell football players and act so foolishly provoked me to defend Bell.
The fact is it was a great game by two great team. Go Boyle.

You know if Boyle coaches had decided to kick the ball last year, we could of have had the same results we did this year. Bell did play well. Boyle did receive a couple of breaks. Hats off to all our boys for the hard year. Boyle is losing several seniors that will be missed. Although Boyle will have over 32 junior that will be seniors next year and will be beast!

I think a lot of that went on and I'm sorry. But you know it's football and goes on every game. Just be glad you are not Danville, when you play Boyle! I think as hard as both of these teams hit, it's going to keep him pumped and ready to hit. Good job to both teams! Great game!

Congratulations to Bell on an excellent season. Only 3 points kept your team from the championship game; a tough one to swallow. Looking for Bell to continue to roll next year and we wish you the very best.

I thought the penalty on Bell County was an unsportsmanlike penalty because the receiver was hit while in the air after the ball was clearly an incomplete pass. You can draw a penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver unnecessarily.
The headbutt should have been a 15 yarder but I guess no refs saw it. #14 of Bell County headbutted #5 Lamar Dawson after the play was dead. A little jawing went on between the two and then #14 headbutted Lamar. Lamar wisely went back to the huddle. I know the entire Boyle County sideline saw it.
There was also a pass interference called on Rees when the receiver who caught it stiff armed Rees before he made the reception. How the refs missed that one is beyond me.

BluegrassBuckeye Wrote:I thought the refs did OK. They missed Bell's head butt on Dawson and the two pass interference calls on Boyle were pretty iffy. The late hit call was pay back for the missed head butt I think.Congrats to Boyle. Strong second half. As for the headbutt.....what preceded that should bring it to light. The two Boyle players held Hilton down a little long...and when he tried to get up one of them pushed him back down to the ground hard in the pile. Just football....but if you are the one under the pile and you get a little extra....he came up in their face. He moved aggressively into them. I don't think it was meant as a "headbutt" just didn't like what had happened in the pile and got in the players face. Not a typical response from John Dudley Hilton.

It was a good game congrats to both teams. Yet, Last night a couple of times I saw where the clock was stopped when it should have ran when boyle was on offense. Yes there was a couple calls that was never called and should have been done so. I left right when the game was over to get back home had to work this morning. I am glad that I did not see that person taunt another player from an opposing team for losing. BOBCATS put this lose behind you and work hard for next year. Boyle good luck at state.

I heard that at the 7 on 7 passing camp this summer that Hilton and Lamar got acquainted so I think last night they were getting re-acquainted.
Of course from your side of the field it didn't look like it was meant as a headbutt. :eyeroll:
Of course from our side of the field, it looked his head went backwards before it came forward to headbutt Lamar. :HitWall:

BellCoBobcats09 Wrote:WOW what a game. Who had thought it would come down to Field Goal kicking to win this game? When Bell Co got up 10-0 I knew we still didnt have it in the bag. The only thing I regret being a Bell fan was when it was 4th and 9 on the 13 and we went for it instead of a FG. If we had made that, the FG Boyle Co kicked at the end of the game would had been for the tie instead the win. Bell Co had other RB's and never used them Im still confused on that part. #14 John Dudley Hilton had 550 yards this year as a FB and he touched the ball maybe once or twice.
Also the late hit that was called on Bell I really couldnt see much from my seat because the seating was aweful. That call made the difference in this game. I think Boyle Co threw it on 4th down and was incomplete pass and Bell's ball. Then they threw the flag for that. Boyle Co had there only TD on that drive after the 15 yard penalty that put them on the 20 yard line. They only had to go 20 yards for the score. With a RB like Macsharra thats easy on a first down on the 20.
CONGRATS to Boyle Co!! It was your year. Now im ready for next year only losing 7 Seniors in 09.
Well, if you're going to go there, the very, very questionable pass interference call against Boyle I think propelled Bell County to their only TD of the night. When I saw that flag, I was almost certain it was offensive interference against Bell. I believe that was on third down too, was it not?
But as stated earlier, the officials did a good job of letting the kids play the game last night, only four penalties all game when there maybe could have been others both ways.
But again, it was a great, hard-fought game between two great teams. It's too bad one had to lose, but I'm glad it wasn't the Rebels.

:dontthink:dontthink Please don't start with this and that happen. You only make it sound like your making excuses. You don't need to do that, it only looks bad on you. Did anyone happen to notice Bell County's #5 standing near the Bell sidelines during Boyle's winning drive? At about the 1:40 mark he was wandering around near the sidelines and the Bell coaches were talking to him. He looked like he was real wobbly and I commented to the people that I was watching with that he looked "out on his feet". He was noticeably swaying. I assume that he took a big hit or something. I'm not sure if he came out of the game or not. Was he hurt? How's he doing? It may have been just my imagination. I was about frozen by that time.

I can at least say that my team was 1 of 2 teams to score 20 or more points on Boyle County's allowed points stat this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............lol

Great game and hated to see it end.
1 observation of mine. Everyone is saying Boyle's OL dominated but I did not see it that way. Boyle did try to run between the tackles some with very little success. They made most their yards running on the outside against Bell's perimeter players.
Congrats to Bell on a great year and Good Luck Boyle in Bowling Green.
