:ref1: Someone threw a recruiting flag on hammertime and I think he has left the site.

Thanks for the info.
Maybe what I had heard was true. I can't wait to see.
The reason I had asked about paid or volunteer was a paid asst. coach can be there all the time whereas a volunteer typically has another job to attend to and can only be present with the team when they don't have to work.
Your response answered that question too.

Hawg, I think you are mistaken about coaching.
First off paid asst or volunteer can come as they please. They're not required certain hours, we all know how underpaid coaches are. At BL, I think they only have two coaches that teach but after that its just get their when they can as much as they can.

NKY,
Your wrong, a coach from another school, can not "change jobs" until the end of the school year. They would have to give up their pay for the remainder if they are a paid coach.

well, I think it is wrong to do it, I have heard some due it like chapman and central as a head coach, but never an asst. coach.

I've seem plenty of coaches coach at one school and teach at another. There is no legal means of stopping this. One school district can not stop a coach legal from coaching in another district.

can't wait for football season, I'm fired up and so is the rest of the fans and parents of Betsy Layne. This is most definitely going to be a year to remember.
The Bobcats are averaging 20-25 kids lifting and working hard to be the best.
First scrimmage is against Boyd Co. (August) tough one there, hope everybody stays healthy but know Red will have them ready.

Did your kid go to PC awhile? Why all the hype on BL's Alumni?

sheriff Wrote:Sorry to disappoint but Coach Ortmeyer will be coming in a couple weeks to meet Casey. Heard it from my cousins(Red told players today during weightlifting)
Red had the KY/WV last year but turned it down so he can play with his kids a little longer before season starts.
I smell jealousy!!!!!
Congrats to Adkins...but hopefully he is NOT THE ONLY player whom Parsons would want to have recruiters look at. Is there no other player on this team who has the talent to play at a higher level? I've heard other players should have plenty of scouts looking at them!!!!!!

Stats/film don't lie. I do know Coach sends film, whether the college coach likes certain players I dont know. I just know the Casey caught the UK's coaching staff's eye. When UK came to open gym, they saw a couple of boys and they got invited. The boys was korey jarrell and dylan hamilton. I'm not sure but I also think PC was up there last week to talk to Nathan Martin, Casey Adkins, Dylan Maldonado, Tyler Recznik, Aaron Newsome. Coach Johnson must like something about these boys.

Sounds Like Besty Layne should be loaded this up coming season.

any news from Casey at UK camp?

Yo Ref trust me Red is doing everything he can to get these boys noticed, its up to them, fate is in them boys reach now all they have to do is work hard and take instruction from the coaches. What we have up on the hill I tell you is the best talented gruop of boys to play together sense the late 80's. Trust me if these kids stay healthy and keep there grades up the colleges will take notice. Basketball starting up I believe and well hope that the kids can lift and shoot in the same day...lol...
As far as the coaches go its the same ones as last year except for one and that one is really going to improve and help Reds coaching staff, hes well known through out the region and very demanding coach, Red likes him very much and likes his ways of coaching.
He will be the line coach off. and def...very important part of success, I believe Red will be running the wing-T and the def. well tell ya the truth not sure, but am sure Adam will step up and take care of buisness.

Recznik Wrote:SPORTSCRITIC you nailed it right on the head. Since I've been back home there is maybe a hand full of loyalty from old ALUMS at the high school level. These are people that I went to school with. It saddens me to no that past ALUMS would turn there back on there own school, either by not helping and donating there time to there schools or letting there pride get in the way and sending there kids either north or south. Trust me if kids have any possible way of playing on the next level they will, theres colleges out there that can't find enough kids to fill schollarships. Parents need to UNITE....Lets make this program what it was in the late 80's. Red has come through on adding experienced coaches that will make are kids better young athletes and by there senior year respectable young men. Mrs. Akers is doing great things for all the kids on the hill education and athletic departments both. Its up to the parents to come through and to fill in the blanks in the puzzle. PARENTS NEED TO UNITE!
You keep telling everyone to unite, didn't you move your kid to Central a couple of years ago?

Raz, who is the OL/DL coach?
06-01-2010, 11:38 PM
here u go (MAN) my son was brought up in Scott. Co. and we moved back home we lived in the PC school district. He went 1 yr. at PC and we moved to Floyd Co. now he goes to BLHS. You want to dispute my words or what? not sure what u want, let me tell u this Scott Co. High has spoiled me, seeing the parents contribute to all fuctions was the reason why there school is a success, for that matter any school that has success has unity from all forms of different people in there community. Thats what we need at BLHS and that is what is happening.....

I wasn't disputing anyones word. I simply asked a question, as to all the hype now. I wish you well in uniting your community.
