If he was like most coaches, they have 2 or 3 classes that they teach, a planning period plus a period of supervision (example Lunchroom duty)

Apply for it! We need a guy like you to come and bring our school up out of the ground. We lost 2 very key players (Jordan Amis, Chance Ashworth) and with all the young talent we have (Bryan Rankin, Daryll Beatty, Jay White) we could use a guy like you to teach these Freshmen and Sophmores discipline and football. You need to come man.

Usually the schedule is already made out a year in advance, does anyone have any knowledge of what kind of schedule did Coach Browne leave Perry with? Just wondering, I'm sure a new coach would want to know who his opponents will be.

It's the same teams as last year just flipped. This is the second year of the two year deals.

I would look for them to go out and try to get a big name like they did for basketball with Coach Hatcher. PCC is a basketball school, but their football program is on the way up and, given the weak district that they play in, it would be a good opportunity for an experienced coach to step in and keep developing that program.

Wouldn't say he was a key player or a big loss, but it would be nice to have him back.

He was A senior Reciever so just losing his experience is a key loss IMO

I am John Luttrell, live in Harlan, KY (can give you the address and/or phone number), if you want to go into this further. You know you really can have adult conversations on here without being demeaning or saying things that you have no clue about. At any rate, Patriot I have applied for a few jobs. I have said this before, I served my country in 3 combat tours and I know God has brought me through these for a reason. I just have to rely on him. I hope I did not offend you HUB.
Any jobs close to home?

Not true at all. He did only have like 3 classes and one was the football teams weightlifting class. But I must say he was always in the gym when he was supposed to be. But being done by 11 daily is pretty good. Hade it made? ABSOLUTELY!

Mountain Warrior Wrote:I am ready to get back into the game. There are several really good opportunities. My bottom line is I want to teach young men about becoming men of character. Take out the win at all cost and learn that if you do the right things for the right reasons and work your butt off that good things will happen and winning and losing will take care of itself. That you are responsible for representing yourself and your team on and off the field and that means in the class room and out in public. If there is a place that needs this, I want to be there. By the way, don't try and make a scheme fit your players. You find something that your players fit well in and can have the opportunity for success. I do call myself a wing t man but it is not Deleware and really is so multiple maybe just that multiple, with a wing t base. If your small, use angle blocking and deception. If you have speed, can throw and protect, spread it out, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO HAVE A RUNNING GAME! I just want to help young men learn about honor, integrity, selfless-service, and duty. I have seen enough death and destruction for 10 lifetimes. I want to give to our next generation and make them men of character.
How do you feel about wrestling and its contributions to a football team?
01-27-2010, 09:15 PM
Wrestling is absolutely awesome and I wish more schools in SE Kentucky had it. Yes, it has a great contribution to those who do both wrestling and football because it builds conditioning that is unreal, shows athletes leverage and how to use your hands and body. These two sports mirror each other greatly. With that said, I just think wrestling is an awesome sport.

Prestonsburg has their football players (that don't play basketball) wrestle and it helps a lot of them become much more aggressive. I think that's why we see a lot more underclassmen get solid minutes in varsity.

Have you ever coached wrestling?
01-27-2010, 10:43 PM
I was a combative's instructor in the military which combines Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling and one of my son's wrestled at South Oldham but that is about it. Always can learn.

This board will light up tomorrow. PCC will see a coach on site most of the day looking at all the facilities. Talking with the administration and all that. He will be your next coach if the small details can be worked out.:Cheerlead

Im all for a coach who is for wrestling. I still have no idea why Bert was so against it.
If anyone doubts just how much wrestling helps a football program, watch Hazard in the next few years. Rumor is they will be starting a program next year and Mark has already said all football players who do not play basketball will wrestle. This will be the help hazard needs to get over the top and win a state championship.
On a side note, Perry isnt looking for a wrestling coach. I was just wanting to see if the 2 interested on here was for or against having the football players wrestle in the off season.

Wrestling is great. Now, if the Coach that Xerxes is talking about leaves where he is at, then I would truly be interested in where he is leaving. I did not apply for PCC, so good luck to that person.
I am not sure why any Football Coach would not want to have his players not playing other sports wrestle. It makes them so much better, in my opinion.

IMO Roark is PCC next coach. Has State ring , Can bring a son that can be a big help in the off. and def. Don't know if have the fund's to make this come true may have to hire within, but should say that they went out and got someone with a big name that know's how to get to state.

I think Browne was agaisnt it because he seen some of players lose 20 pounds becasue of wrestling. Instead of of been in the weightroom getting stronger, they were losing weight. JMO

Roark?

Just heard that Roark was in town to meet with officials at PCC.... I for one would agree with football players wrestling during the off-season and learning balance points and learning how to use leverage against opponents. I know that must of the big time football programs in Louisville have been doing this and it's a great way to keep them in the weight room and in shape during the off-season..
