Everyone else has an opinion but you have an "actual objective analysis."
Also known as you value your opinion over everyone else's opinion.
Or put yet another way my actual objective analysis is at odds with your actual objective analysis.:Shaking:

Feathers not ruffled at all. I dislike Belfry one week a year. Saturday morning at dawn the UMG workers will be in their astronaut suits disinfecting Hambley Stadium and then I will have another 51 weeks of not really knowing Belfry is on the map.:devilflam

Pilot... If I see proof of additional PHS talent after Friday night...I will say so and if you think I'm wrong then name the players you think are better than Belfry's. I think Maynard is a good player, decent quickness, but wouldn't match up real well with some of the teams Belfry plays.

I'm not getting into playing our left-handed long snapper is twice as good as your left-handed long snapper. I'm not even saying Pikeville matches up well with Belfry. But I will say the talent level of the 11 people Pikeville has on the field at any given time Friday night matches up with the 11 people Belfry will have on the field at any given time much better than Belfry fans will ever admit or even allow their minds to consider.

This is a good Pikeville team. Pretty good on both sides of the ball. But, I don't think they are good enough to play with Belfry. We had over 10 offensive penalties against SW and still dominated the football game. Belfry will come out ready to play after have 10+ offensive penalties. Our triple option showed how dangerous it really is. When SW keyed on Hatfield up the middle (and he still beat them to death), Taylor and Willis ate them alive outside. This season is going to be EXCITING to watch.

I know there are tons of new WV kids on the roster who didn't play in those games but you still have a bunch of kids on Pikeville's team who have played against the Belfry guys and thrashed them 3 times in 1 year and gave up ZERO points. So your belief that it's men vs. boys just isn't true.
Belfry Middle school teams have been beaten some like that, but when they get to high school, those teams that beat them in middle school RARELY beat them....

Back in 1987 it could be argued that Belfry had zero of the top twenty players on the field and the score indicated it. In 1988, the Pirates started catching up some and by 1989 they had the better team. Many years Pikeville has had at least equal talent to Belfry, but none of those years have been lately. Middle school accomplishments are a very weak argument because at high school you have 4 classes playing together not just one or two classes like at the middle school level. Anyway, it took a Belfry boy as coach to end the BHS middle school streak!

Well since I am a Belfry fan living in PIKEVILLE, I will have to jump off my bidet if PHS wins the game. Excuse me while I go have my noon tea and iron my polo shorts I will wear to the game Friday...Seriously, and I am not trying to be mean but at the Pike County Bowl before Belfry played there was a group of PHS students sitting to our left and I knew a couple of them one is the May girl who is a cheerleader and a real sweet girl. But there was a kid showed up in penny loafers and had pleated shorts and a long sleeved polo and to top it off had the ole sweater tied around his neck. We were like, really. Do people actually still wear that stuff? Oh well, to each his own.

Pike County could have 2 teams (1A & 3A) in the state finals this year...
It's hard to believe that a poor little eastern Kentucky county has 6 state football championships and a state basketball championship.
Belfry may have a little bit too much for the panthers. A win for the panthers will let the state know they are making a march towards Bowling Green. (And yes 64SUR, they will be coming for your Orange-Yellow Jackets)
I for one want to see another game of a 9-0 Belfry team vs. a 9-0 Johnson Central team.

Here is what I will say:
I am very happy with the job Coach Mac is doing at Pikeville and I will say with certainty that for the first time in several year that I think Pikeville has a team that COULD beat Belfry.
A little perspective from my view. If this were the 2014 Panthers vs the 09 Pirates...or even the 2010 State Runner-Up Pirates I would actually think it would be a toss-up game. The latter is actually saying a whole lot when you consider Pikeville is a 1A team. That shows that Pikeville has truly developed into a team capable of contending for a State Title.. something that even 3-4 years ago was not a reality.
This game will probably have the most buzz around it of any game over the past decade, and for the critics saying the rivalry should end this is living proof of why it should continue on.
Now the bad news for Pikeville though is it is not 2014 Panthers vs. 2010 Pirates.... for as much as the Pikeville program has evolved the Belfry program has followed suit and the product on the other side of the field is scary good. Belfry is bigger.. Belfry is deeper... Belfry is more athletic... and Belfry is more battle tested. Those are the facts.
What this all comes down to is Pikeville's only chance to win this is if the Panthers play perfect and Belfry shoots themselves in the foot. Much like the Pburg game I think Pikeville has a propensity to turn it over when the other team can penetrate and disrupt them in the backfield. The past few years have also shown that Pikeville typically gets a little tight against Belfry and have the tendency to try and force passes or to stretch the ball for an extra yard and have it knocked out.
This game begins and ends with #44 and #23 in Red, as well as Whitt. If they create penetration like they have all year Pikeville will have to find a way to subsidize their offense outside of Pugh. Those two stir the drink and then Belfry's very fast DE's and LB's clean up the rest.
On the opposite side of the ball there is no doubt Belfry's going to move the football at a pretty regular clip. The key for Pikeville's success here is to limit the damage. No long break away TD's... make Belfry cap off 15 play drives with a 1 yard plunge on 4th and Goal. Keep the clock moving, keep the game within reach, limit possessions... and make it so if Belfry makes any mistake.. be it penalty or fumble... that they have to overcome themselves to put points on the board. The hope is you get this thing to the 4th and it is still in question..then you can throw the kitchen sink and try to make magic happen.
Personally... I think Pikeville does a good job 75% of the game...but costly mistakes by the Panthers and shear of plays of excellence by Belfry begins to open it up until Belfry puts the nail in the coffin at the start of the 4th.

Alright, now I'm beginning to get a little queasy...
Pike County is the largest in the state and -still- in the top echelon of millionaires per capita in the entire USA...poor little county, indeed !! Do you even hear what you're saying ?!?
Both Pikeville and Belfry have great football programs and traditions. But make no mistake, it is NO coincidence both have the deepest financial support to boot. It matters a LOT in football...

LOl! Don't understand. What does this have to do with this game? There's probably some odd things about some people from both sides, and for the public as a whole for that matter, but has nothing to do with the game. Maybe it just comes down to dislike of the people you live among? You know what they say, "if you look hard enough, you will find fault".
