Congratulations Shelby Valley from a Knott fan!! Everyone knows several of the KCC players are very close to the Valley team and tonight in Rupp Patriots were huge Valley fans! It was a great feeling. Thank you boys for giving Easter n Kentucky basketball the respect it deserves!!!

Congrats to the Wildcats, we were pulling for you tonight! You made Eastern Ky proud, seen them play several games in the 14th this year and knew they would do well in Rupp. Enjoy this great moment, you will remember it the rest of our lives!

Congrats on a major Victory! from a Betsy Layne Fan. 15th all the way!

Hatfield did have 21 points. That is on Mike Field's blog(from Lexington Herald).
..Hatfield led team with 21 points plus 8 rebounds.
..Justice had 17 points and was tournament MVP
..Taylor Newsome had 17 points and 9 rebounds
..Varney had 13 points
..So that accounts for 68 of their 73 points
..For Ballard I have Chiles leading all scorers with 23,Jones 17 and Means 15 which accounts for 55 of their 61 points

Congrats to SV but I will still say the result may have been different if they had to come out of the 7th but we'll never know.

Remind me again, how many top 20 teams did they end up playing on the year.

But guess what, it doesn't matter now- they won and deserve all the accolades!

Me too. I can't root for him as long as he wears red. LOL.

This is something that makes me smile knowing all those "Big Name" schools get put in their place. It had been way to long of a drought for the mountains and for the small schools. Good Job Valley celebrate and remember this well.

FIRST and foremost, Congratulations to Shelby Valley for doing an outstanding job and bringing home the hardware to Pike County!!

SECONDLY and the ONLY warning to be issued.... IF I find one more.... and I mean ONE more comment other than a well wishing, congratulations filled one, I will personally issue an infraction to anyone willing to post it. This thread has been started to give a group of young men praise for their hard work, yet some ADULTS on here seem to be determined to ruin it for them. Well, I have deleted each post that I have caught up until now and it was ridiculous!!!! ONLY warning again that will be issued.... Grow up, post the way you should in this thread, or keep your comments to yourselves!

Classy post honoring a classy bunch of young men, they deserve the praise being lavished upon them, they have done it in the classroom, in the community, on the AAU circuit, out-of-state trips, different championships and now the Sweet 16. Who was it:Jackie Gleason who always said:How Sweet It Is?
#83
Congrats Shelby Valley! I don't know if I've ever seen a team that deserved it any more than these boys did.

Of course Justice is walking on for Pitino at Louisville.
I'm not sure where the other players will play college ball but they will be playing I'm sure and teams will be glad to have them.
..I haven't seen blocks listed but I will post if I do. I think Hatfield did have quite a few.
