Hey!! There is never a bad time to talk about tater's. Combine it with football and im in heaven.

How's belfry's Offense looking this year? Still gonna be very run heavy I assume but will there be more or less passing than the last couple years?

I agree! And as far a Belfry is concerned, losing Wellman and Varney will hurt but they have alot of talent coming back and some of the underclassmen from last season will be ready to go. Belfry may take an early loss or two given the toughness of the schedule, luckily most of the early difficult games are return games from last season and Belfry gets those at home this year.

IMO, the top 4 teams in 3A this season are Boyle, Central, Belfry & Corbin. This may be the last time we will have a chance to see Belfry vs. Corbin...atleast as 3A opponents. I'd like to see Haywood replace Bryan Station or NCC with Corbin in the 2019 schedule.

The biggest lose to me was Wellman at fullback. He was a great LB but FB is where he made people fear him. I think Hensley will do ok there. Not near the power but he has speed. And I think if he hits the holes the line opens for him this year, look out! He could have a season to remember. To me the O-Line is the key. IMO, we had one of the best lines in 3A last year. This year I think we have one of the best lines in the state. We lose only one starter from that unit and he rotated back and forth with the kid taking over for him. 2 lineman, Wolford at Center and Rash at guard, are being looked at hard by a couple of D-1 schools. Rash will be making a trip to West Point in June to work out for Army and Wolford was invited down to Marshall and has an upcoming trip to UT-Martin and EKU. Both was invited to attend UofL's spring game. I think at least 1 or 2 more of our lineman will be looked at before it's over. Defense will be the BIG question mark. I've heard that players will be shuffled around to try to fill the void left by Wellman. Our D-Line has to be better as well as our secondary. Last year, any time we played a passing team we struggled. We won't have the size we had there last year but we will have the speed and athleticism to make up for it. I think we're one of the top 3 teams in 3A this year. I also think we'll lose a couple of games this year to but will be ready for a big run in the playoffs when the time comes. Look for Ben Bentley, Isaac Dixon, Seth Mounts, Grayson Cook, Jake Baisden, and Justin Barker to have a big year on defense. That's just my opinion on what we have this upcoming year. Should be an exciting season of football in 3A.

Baisden and Barker just jumping back and forth between Belfry and Mingo??

Belfry's defense will be the biggest mitigating factor as too how far the go in 2018. There are huge holes that have to be addressed, and whether or not the pieces are they remains to be seen.

The D-Line HAS to get bigger and stronger than last season. Baisden and Barker will both help tremendously up front. I still think that Lawson should be seriously considered for a 3 technique on the D-Line. As much depth as we have on the O-Line, I believe we may be better served. No doubt, the LB position will take a huge blow with the departure of Wellman. The pieces are there...but they're gonna need time to adjust.....which makes the D-Line much more important in 2018. Got to keep the LB"s free to read and react.

IMO, Varney's departure is much bigger than people think. He usually shut down one side of the field himself with this athleticism. Belfry has a lot of work to do in the secondary.

Way to early for predictions. This team will need the whole season IMO, to get ready for November.
