What's the word on Hatcher right now, JP1?

As long as he fulfills some obligations I think he will be back. So far he is fulfilling those obligations to the best of my knowledge.

He will be back. Don't act like he won't. That massive 1 quarter suspension they put on him last time will straighten him out. In all reality the boy deserves a second chance....well third chance...but you have to question if they would have been harder on him from the start if they would be in this situation.

I think the problem the first time is that most of it was rumor, and nothing was substantiated. The violation in this case had much more grounds. The suspension was actually for longer last time, scrimmage, 1Q, and there was a lot behind the scenes. Regardless I don't think anyone is in the business of letting kids fail and an example has been made in this case. We'll see.

Well said JumperPride1. We're talking about kids here, they mess up it's what they do. I have no clue what he did but I'm sure it has been handled with the care it requires. Now back to football... Jumpers have a new OC?

Not at all.

So the Hatcher kid is questionable? Not much on here about the Cornette kids. Seems to be a lot of hype around the Doan kid. Looking him up shows he plays at SouthWestern Pulaski? By khsaa anyways. Josh Cornette seemed to have a really good freshman year at receiver at least stats wise. Its interesting how a team that didn't win a game has so much hype surrounding them. Not a shot,at the program at all, Just wondering the logic behind it.

The program had won 5 straight regional titles with a state finals appearance prior to last year. I think most around the program continue to have high expectations, seeing as how they started 5 freshman and 3 sophomores last year. It was essentially a JV team playing a varsity schedule and they ended up 6 points shy of winning their very tough district. I don't know that hatcher is questionable anymore honestly, just a matter of him staying on the right track. Doan was a freshman at Somerset who transferred to southwestern and back to Shs midway through last season, all out of his control. The jumpers should rebound if they're better up front in my opinion.

Would agree with most of what you said EXCEPT the tough district part.

How is their district not tough? It doesn't have Highlands and Belfry in it but Danville (multiple state titles) is a VERY historically relevant program who always has athletes, LCA (state champion in 2009) had one of the best (statistically) running backs in the state last year and will continue to improve, and Middlesboro (former state champion) is always athletic and is also a very historically relevant team who can be good at any point (probably should've been a lot better last year than they were). I don't think you'll find a better district in the east in 2a.

At this point the western side of 2a has all the clout with Desalles, Mayfield, Caldwell, and even Murray, but 2a District 7 is very very tough.

Stop making excuses, every team has this issue at some point and we did too not long ago and never came close to an unblemished 0-10 season. GO MAROONS STATE CHAMPS!

somerset has never had any discipline under this staff that is why kids are fleeing to Pulaski and SW. I think somerset future is in serious trouble. Go Maroons State Champs!

you got it backwards 3-7 bottom of the district again. Three wins is being kind. Go Maroons State Champs!

you guys had enough talent to win to at least 5-6 games. No excuse that team should have been 0-10. I hope you guys get it turned around. Sounds like the way you talk Anything less than a 7 win season and regional title will be a disappointment. Good Luck! Go Maroons State Chapmps.

Don't worry Jumper fans. Hatcher will be back. This morning he ran track for the Jumpers.... I guess he's only on suspension for football. He did sit out the girls 400 meter so he should be ready for next football season.

It is currently a weak district, none of those teams have won a state title in years, the district winner last year was 7-4, not what anyone call a strong showing for district winner. Go Maroons State Champs!

Why is this any of your business? He's a kid who made a bad decision and has been punished and continues to be punished, you wanna open up your closet and see what we find?

LOL, the Jumpers haven't won a football game in over a year. Playing in games IS the punishment.

Go polish your trophy . . . make it the shiniest trinket on display in that new glass house.

Just tired of the Somerset faithful acting like you are burning this kid at the stake when your not. It's just typical. It's just like last time when you suspended him a quarter. Oh wait it was a scrimmage and a quarter over a RUMOR.... or so you all said it was a rumor.

Keep on blasting a kid man. You must be a really cool guy.

Is this ongoing "interest" in one high school kid entirely natural, or have you inadvertently dipped into the Viagra a couple times too many?

Last time I checked, Somerset's coaches and administration are in charge of Somerset's programs . . . for now, anyway. If that doesn't suit you, then by all means, please apply for the positions that will enable you to "right the wrongs" that you perceive so acutely from afar.

Otherwise, go pound sand. Sheesh.

Once again.... Not the kids fault. Go back and read my posts.... I have a problem with the leadership not the boy.

Don't know anything about Viagra there old man. You might though being an old jumper. Has nothing to do with the kid I'll say that once again but the leadership. I wouldn't put myself in that toilet up there. You all will be closed within 5 years anyways.

The 5A state champs were well deserving last year, however they have to deal with Highlands next year which probably presents a major problem for their hopes of a repeat. It's amazing to me that the Maroons cannot allow the other programs to be successful independently of each other, people continue to trash the jumpers after you guys brought home the big hardware. We compete in different classes, your school is 3X the size of Somerset's yet you still get off on trashing a small school that has owned you historically since your inception. It's commical.

The jumpers are rebuilding after an outstanding 5 year run. Which kids have been fleeing to the county? I know of one kid that has transferred to southwestern after his freshman year last year and that is because of a change of address. I don't think any Somerset player is abandoning ship, they just went to work and have had a great off season in the weight room.

Go enjoy your trophy, the KIDS that play for Pulaski earned it, any former Maroon is just trying to kick a lame dog after decades of beat downs at the hands of a small independent neighbor. The tide may have shifted but success in high school sports is cyclical if not fleeting. Enjoy it while you can, in 2-3 years this thread may be about the maroons rebuilding and we'll see how that sits with the mighty Maroons. One class of kids does not a program make.

:thatsfunn now that you are done with your novel stop living in the past how does 56-0 feel and what does it feel like to see Pulaski do what the bunnies could not do in over 100 + years enjoy your regional titles while we will enjoy our STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy it. It was well deserved. Good group of kids, and an outstanding year of football for the maroons. They'll never have a winning record against the jumpers. This is about the 2015 Jumpers not the 2014 Maroons. No way to swing it, Pulaski had their statistically best season in Somerset's statistical worst, congratulations. Once again you prove by posting here that no matter how successful you are you always compare yourself to the purple and gold, there is a reason for that, your coach and program have always been envious... Now you have something we don't, a state title, so I have no idea why it continues. When Hall and company graduate you will sink back to football mediocrity, have fun with that.

your hilarious no one cares about Somerset. state champs don't concern themselves over little bunnies. we may stumble some day in the future but that ain't now, stop living in the past we don't have time to play 0-10 2A schools. I am sure we can win at least one game in our worst season though :biglmao: come up the road and see our State Championship trophy
