Johnson Central @ Belfry (10/28)
#61
I think that this game will be to close to call and could ultimately go either way. I think that the Ashland game will play huge dividends from this point on for JC. Belfry will play the same type D that we seen the other night. Thus, Matney will have an entire week to make adjustments, which has been a problem mid game due to the youth the Eagles play on this team. With an entire week to implement these changes the game may very much be better then most think. However, I do think that the Eagles will go into the game with the same plan as last week, but I think as adjustments need to be made they will be very familiar this week after a week of being prepared to go to these changes if need be.

AND you don't think Coach Haywood has already been viewing film of the JC/Ashland game as well as others of JC? IMHO, you will NOT see the same type of D that was played against Pike Central. You will see the type of D that is needed to stop Jude and company. Belfry will be prepared and will make any adjustments needed to do so. I do agree with you that this is going to be a good game!

this could be a real good game! but belfy will come out on top IMO!
#64
no my point was that I think Belfry will play the same type of D that Ashland played against JC to stop Jude... However, not many people my self included thought that they could. This week I think that there will be prepared adjustments worked on in practice if this is the case.

Belfry 26-20.

I don't see this game being that close. I think Belfry does pretty much what they want in this one. With JC being so one dimentional, this will be a problem for them. JJ can only take you so far, there needs to be other threats so he can break a couple big runs in this game. I would say Belfry will be keying on him just like Ashland did. Don't get me wrong I would like to see JC go into Cam and get a win, I just don't think this team can do that.

That's my only worries, too. Jude and the "letdown factor." I pick Belfry if they've calmed back down and have their mind and heart in the game.

Belfry's D will keep Johnson Centrals Rushing attack low.

Belfry-28
Johnson Central-14

I am convinced this will be a VERY close game. I think most people will agree there are two big keys in this game.

1) Controlling the LOS on both sides of the ball. The team who can do this will almost certainly win BUT

2) JC has Jude. If the game played out where Belfry won the war up front, but gives up just enough big plays to the ever explosive back, key #1 could go by the wayside. Jude is that good.

I simply can't see Belfry bottling Jude all game. So, hopefully Dixon and Robinson can also make some big plays for Belfry. Willis will be there.

As always, not turning the ball over will be a premium for both teams.

JC fans,

Do you guys stay in the wishbone basically every play as in years past? My understanding is your QB has good athleticism but is a runner and not a proficient playmaker in the passing game? Is that a fair assessment? If not, could someone sorta give us a scouting report on all the pieces for Johnson Central.

close game. Who knows!

I think this will be a war. Flip a coin.

Belfry has a great D as long as they slow Jude down hold him to 100 yards or so they win by two TDs.Jude is scary good, and will be looking for a big game on friday. I hope Robinson can have some success, and Dixon and Willis pound JC into submission. Belfry goes 10 and 0 friday. TongueirateSho

If belprey doesn't rap JJ up central wins!!

I made Belfry a 9 point favorite in this game but I think JCHS still has the more talented team. Some things happened in that Ashland game that made it seem like it was not a close game. I must point out that JCHS played Ashland @ Ashland while Belfry played them at home. I know this game is at Belfry and they have a big home field advantage too but its not as big a HF advantage as Ashland has. JCHS has pretty much the same defensive line that it had last season with the exception being that the DE Mullins is back this year he was out last year with a injury. Jude will be the best RB on the field. JC's linebackers have to have a good game plus JC's young QB needs to get over the butter flys and have a break out game. After seeing some film of the Ashland game and knowing that JC will have there kicker for the whole game this week , I'd say this line is down to Belfry -3.5

Any update on James May's health? Anyone know if he will be back for this game and if not, when? Any word on Justin Johnson?

Some people close to the JCHS program have told me that JC's young QB can "smoke Jude in the 40 yard dash" That's a quote I don't know this to be a fact. My guess would be that Jude runs a high 4.6 in the forty. So if the QB can smoke him then I'd say he runs atleast a 4.5. I have watched JC football for many years and I'd say this QB may be the most talented QB that Matney has had at this age. He just needs to play and make plays to become comfortable as both a runner and passer.

Last year against a (not nearly as good Belfry team) JCHS didn't have to play against Josh Dixon or Tony Messer on defense. Dixon was out with a shoulder, and Tony got hurt VERY early. One could argue they are the two best players on the defense. Plus, since moving Gary Runyon to DE and adding Ghormley at LB, Belfry has been 13-1. Much better offensive line unit this year's Belfry squad than last.

It is going to be a close game. Anyone who thinks otherwise is going to be proven wrong IMO.

I don't think JC's O-line is as good or as big as last years unit. JC has a pretty young team. I hope JC can get hot in the playoffs like Belfry did last year. I hope Belfry can get on point again this year and bring a title back to the Mountains.

Johnson Central recovers from the Ashland loss...24-22

I think JC needs to rund Dilion and Belcher more to free up JJ. Belfry will key on Jude again.. Just like Ashland..
#89
I meant to say run Dilion and Belcher more.
