Johnson Central @ Belfry (10/28)
#1
JC won the last 2games and there coming off a loss to Ashland, where they keep Jude in check for the most part,Belfry coming in undefeated, and wanting to stay that way headed into the playoffs, who you got and why?i got Belfry by couple scores if they do what Ashland done to Jude,if not Belfry in a close one..

I don't see JCC being able to handle the pirates at all! Belfry is big an strong an quick. They should be able to do what the Tomcats did to them tonight, an shut them down completely with there defense that held Ashland to 6. IMO

Belfry by 3 scores

Belfry by 3 scores

hope so and keep rolling into the playoffs, but knowing JC dont wont to lose 2in row going into the playoffs..

I got Belfry as a huge home favorite in this one. Belfry -9

Belfry-34
Johnson Central-21

Belfry, and Phillip Haywood is why.
#7
Jude worries me... Belfry still is prone to big plays and fits of missed tackles. I also worry about the "letdown factor" after such a big win and emotional night.
#8
Jude had 53 yds on alot of carriers, not sure what he ended up with but at one point he had 19 carries for 28 yds..
#9
Coach Matney always has Belfry circled and game plans well even back to Matney's day's at Sheldon Clark. But this year I seriously doubt that any one dimensional or one horse team will be able to stop the Pirates. Their D is just too strong and fast. Tho they are prone to give up a big play from time to time one even 2 big runs isn't going to do it. If Central even wants to have a chance they are going to have to control the clock and keep the Belfry O off of the field. Don't throw too much hate my way but i think this could be a big statement game for Belfry moving forward into the playoffs. 32 14 Belfry

This is part of what scares me though. Just like Belfry came out with a fire in their belly to set the record I can see the same coming from JC...especially after the lock down the Tomcats put on them they will have something they want to prove. Factor this with the fact that Matney will want this game badly and want that momentum heading into the playoffs and it has a recipe for Belfry getting the Eagles "A-game".
#11
Should be a dandy of game. Would love to go watch this one. I'm a fan of both of these teams. I think JC will be ready for Belfry, and I look for Jude to have a big game probably, but I don't know if it will be enough to beat the Pirates.
#12
There is no doubt belfry should worry about Jude, an they know it an I'm sure they will have a great defense set up just for him. Stop Jude..... An stop JCC.
#13
Belfry is great against the run. JJ jude may get sum yards but belfry can hold him and JC in check and go 10 and 0!
#14
After seeing Belfry and Central both this year I have to say that Belfry is the superior team and will win by three td's

i agree 100 percent, plus not sure if Justin is ok, hes gets hurt alot, and need him for the playoffs..

I'm going with the Pirates by 13.

And this is completely off topic. But I smiled when I seen Haywood Field! That's awesome!!

Well put, Its going to take a lot of focus on Belfry's part to be able and shut down a very good JC team. I think Coach Haywood down playing his historic achievment will help this team get through the season, and help it become truly magical.
#18
Haywood will have a great game plan worked out and the pirates will execute and be perfect going to playoffs.
#19
this should be the game of the week for the pick em contest.

Belfry rolls
#20
Belfry shuts down JJ and then takes JC to the Woodshed

Belfry rolls

You might would think so, because it sounds like a big game between two mountain football powers. But I don't want to have my GOTW be a game where everybody is picking the same team. And from the looks of this thread so far, everyone is picking Belfry.

For that reason, I don't even know if it will be in the regular games, much less the game of the week.

there will be some JC fans pick them,i say the gotw probally should be Bell/Harlan County.

Belfry at Cam....Hard to beat, however, Jude has to bring his A-game to allow JC to stay in this game! Belfry has plenty of fresh legs in their backfield! Belfry's depth has been the deciding factor in more than one game this year...PCC, was equal in the first half with fresh legs, but has too many players playing both sides of the ball! Congrads to the Pirates coach Haywood on being the Coach of the century and it is well received being a Mountain Coach! Good Luck Pirates...Hope to see you in round three at Cam!
#24
Anyone know the status of Justin Johnson. He has proven invaluable in that Pirate backfield and his quickness is needed.

I will predict:

Belfry 28
Johnson Central 21
#25
This will be a good/close game.
#26
JJ is extremely talented, but hopefully having Dixon back there we only lose depth and not a talent step-down. Seeing Jude this week is the closest thing Belfry can get to looking at Wales/Davenport (whoever we'd face if we made it to a 15th game) so hopefully the experience can be valuable and no one gets injured as we try to move towards another trip to Bowling Green.
#27
I said all year this years BELFRY team is better than last years.BELFRY will dominate JC and go in to the playoffs undeafeated.
BELFRY-48

Belfry remains unbeaten.

just seen play i would like to see Belfry run and use Howie Dotson to do it,Ga Tech was set to run the option with one wideout, they put him in motion, and after faking to the backs, pitched to the wideout and he ran behide the backs for a big play...
