Ashland @ Rowan County
#61
RAMBAIT Wrote:I'm with you. No matter how good Ashland is they eventually run into a team called Highlands. Thats why we all say that Ashland is the new Raceland because they are in that northern ky. Region. Just like the Rams back in the day. No matter how good we were we eventually ran into a little team called Beechwood.

Umm.... Ok now were the new Raceland?? :lmao::hilarious:

3 2 point conversion = 6 points
1 XP for good measure just to proce they can = 1 point

Total of 43

LOL

They have to try an PAT eventually just to prove that they can.

Has Ashland gone for two all year?
#63
Unless Rowan County suddenly learned how to play defense I don't think they can beat Ashland. I'll take the Tomcats 49-28.

Yes an the previous 3 yrs or so. There in the neighborhood of 80 % making them over the last couple yrs. I do understand where it could be a problem, in a close one, but there pretty confident in it.
#65
80% on 2pt Conversions is pretty impressive! That puts a great deal of pressure on opponents to make a decision when they score whether to go for 2 or kick.

Trust me. You will see. as long as Highlands is in your region you will go nowhere. You will have a great season....then you will get to Ft. thomas Highlands and......:flush: End of seaon for the Kitty cats.

Tomcats by 10 in a high scoring game.

Diogenes Wrote:If that mission is to win Ashland a district championship and lose in Putnam to Cov Cath in the second round of the district, I'd say it's entirely realistic, and what I honestly expect to happen.

Now this is a realistic post. It is realistic to believe that Ashland could win the district which is, after all, a mediocre district. Depending on the matchup, Ashland might beat the #4 team from the Covington/Newport area. And, it is realistic to assume that Covington Catholic would be next and even Putnam Stadium wouldn't likely bring an Ashland win. And, finally, that would be best because a meeting with Fort Highland Highlands would, in all probability, be humiliating for Ashland.

But, then, the only Commonwealth team capable of beating FTH is Louisville Trinity and they did so by a large margin in a scrimmage.

Still, a district title would be nice for Ashland.

You never know.

I take Ashland 44 Rowan 28.
#71
If Ashland loses another game this year it will be in November. It is what it is

Wow, thanks for insight about northern Ky football! I had no idea those guys up there were so scary!! I'll just pass the word on to coach hart an company they should just go ahead an wrap up this season right now cuz the Cats arent going to get past first round of playoffs. Man what an enlightenment! It's reassuring to know that all of this great football (an prolly all kinds of other stuff) knowledge is just a short drive down 23!? But what puzzles me is why you guys even bother suiting up? I mean With your playoff record? Guess it speaks for it's self.... Mmmmm Confusednicker:

From watching Ashland as a lc fan there offense and defense is as good if not better than anyones around.my only concern is why do they not have a feild goal kicker.if they had one gw goes home with a Loss.imo

I think only a couple starters play both ways but the rest are offensive specialists.

Most amusing post by BADCAT74. RAMBAIT is obviously correct and I would hope that Hart is smart enough to realize it, too. Fans like BADCAT74 have unwaivering blind loyalty and, regardless of what the record books state, they never learn reality. The overall difference between football in Northern Kentucky and football in Eastern Kentucky is like the difference between the SEC and the OVC.

That's a pretty massive difference, are you referring to the top teams or just in general? I'm pretty sure no EKY team would beat Highlands (actually i'm positive they wouldn't) but I sure think Bell County and Harlan County could definitely give some of those NKY teams quite a game, if not beat them.
#80
You take a few big plays away and Rowan's defense is one of the best in the state, look at their stats. Lets also look at their offense which is a rolling tank with or without their injured players, look at what their backups have done. I also believe that every is totally under estimating Rowan. The coaching staff and players at Rowan will be ready.

My final statement is that Ashland better be ready, because I'm sure Rowan will have something for them.

I should have been more geographically exact. I should have excluded the southern portion of Eastern Kentucky. Bell County and Harlan County have fine teams.

You are a realist in that you readily admit that neither Bell County nor Harlan County could beat Highlands. BADCAT74, like a number of his compatriots, lives in a dream world.

You guys are amazing, I guessing this is the attitude your respective teams have as well? An I would guess you have the same results, blind loyalty has nothing to do with it I've been around for awhile an fully know Fort Thomas highlands reputation... There's always somebody out there bigger an badder but you gotta line em up an play the game! While i no the odds would not be on our sided. But if it's ok with you guys, if it comes to pass I think the TOMCATS will take the field an give'em all they got!! An just for the record Ashland vs Bell co is dead even at 3-3. :1:

"ironton has a better winning tradition and... has a better winning tradition and better coaching. Ashland has a shot because they are playing at Ashland. Still, Ironton is superior."

28-6. Pretty convincing to me.
Should've been a shut out if it weren't for a busted play late in the 4th. I think u may be jealous I have no idea what school u hail from but it's ok we get this all the time!
Yea your a frigging genius think Ill keep believing in Ashland!

I'm looking at the predictions and think the Tomcat's D is being under rated here. As we all know Rowan's offense is having a great year, but I doubt it's better than GW's or Ironton's, neither of which could score 20 points against Ashland. I have been wrong a time or 2 in my life but I just don't think the Vikings are looking at the big picture here, but optomism is a good thing I suppose. Ashland is not another Mason Co. In fact Russell is probably as good as anyone the vikings have faced yet, GW and Ironton are both far better. I know this all means nothing come game time friday, but just a little reality check. Rowan has nothing to bring to the table that the Tomcats haven't already faced.

They play Johnson Central October 21. I think Ashland goes down in October and then November!

Will be a close game and could go down to who has the ball last.

That is one of the funniest posts I have read in awhile! Rowan's D is giving up better than 35 points a game average; I think it is more than a "few big plays".:biglmao:
