What's the overall series record between the two schools? I am NOT saying Harlan isn't up and coming, nor am I saying they can't win, I'm saying I don't believe they will.I was just correcting you because you said that Harlan hadn't beaten Pikeville, I agree that a rivalry could be started if Harlan can pull out the win tomorrow cause that would mean that we had taken 2 out of the last 3 games.

It was the first time Harlan has ever gone to Pikeville and won, I know this for certain cause I played for that Harlan team. Also the Seniors and Juniors were on that team so they remember how good it felt to finally get the monkey off our back.
Also at Dragonsdad I was at the field earlier this week and they had the stats up for the game, and harlan failed to get over a 100 yards rushing, for you to say they ran the ball well and for them not to eclipse the century mark tells me that this team is gonna have a hard time running.
We were able to move the ball 3 to 4 yards at a time on the ground. We were able to pick up first downs on short yardage plays between the tackles without being stopped in the backfield. I don't remember being hit for a loss other than one sack in the first half. What running we did do was against Bell's veteran line who was in noway to be compared with any d-line we will see by any of the 1A d-lines we will see all year. So yes, I would say that we had a positive night on the ground against Bell. We will not see the kind of depth on defense that Bell had this year. The run is not our bread and butter like it was two years ago. Now we run to set up the pass. Which is something we did very little of two years ago. I think we will be able to move the ball on the ground well against pikeville.

Dungy Wrote:Curious as to where the biggest threat to my Hazard Bulldogs will come from in the East...from in district with Harlan or out of district with Pikeville or Williamsburg or another team. From reading this thread, I have no idea. Sounds like it could be 30 points either way or decided in overtime by a field goal.
Pikeville or Williamsburg or Harlan or Fairview (District 7).

Pikeville could have scored 100 vs. Harlan last year. They will score 35-42 this year but will it be enough? I don't have a prediction.

I think you and I will be closer to right than anyone. It wouldn't surprise me if Harlan didn't win 7-0 or 7-3. I think it will be close like that. A defensive struggle. GO DRAGONS!!!

It looks like the poll has come out pretty even for this game. I'm calling it a toss up as far as who wins this game. It will come down to who wants it the most and who shows the most heart and determination. When you come to the game better bring an umbrella or a rain coat. Looks like a storm coming in from the west. I hope it moves through before the game starts. If it happens during the game who knows how the game will come out. Good luck to both teams as far as injuries go. Good luck to the Dragons as far as the win goes.
