The Dragons looked pretty good for a 1A ballclub in the SEKC panorama against Bell Co. Friday night. Their passing game was strong and their rushing game was not to shabby. Pikeville had a slow start last season. If that happens this year I think that Harlan could get'em. I'll predict the Dragons in a low scoring and physical affair 14-7. What are your predictions?

Im not sure if it will happen, but It wouldnt surprise me if Harlan beats Pikeville. The way they looked in passing league and how well they played against Bell. They really could upset Pikeville.

I think that this game will go a long way in determining what type of season that the Dragons have in store for themselves. This will be a great measuring stick in which to go by.

If the Dragon's go into Pikeville with the same intensity level they were on at the Bell panorama then Pikeville will have their hands full. But that level of intensity or greater is a must. Anything else is a loss for the green team. I do not care to give a prediction any further than that. Pikeville is a very good football team.

I can't wait for this game, perfect way to start off the season!

Would it not be an upset Thunder? The Panthers are ranked pre-season and the Dragons are not.

No doubt this will be a good game, but I must take the Panthers in a close one 21-17

Mountain pride 10 Wrote:Would it not be an upset Thunder? The Panthers are ranked pre-season and the Dragons are not.Harlan is not a bad football team. Both teams have something to prove and Week 1 will be a great opportunity to do so. Pikeville should be favored, IMO, but Harlan is certainly capable of winning this game if Pikeville starts out slow like they did in their first game last year.

Is This game at Pikeville or Harlan? I think Pikeville may come out on top but its not going to be an easy task. If Pikeville wins I think it will be 24 to 20.

The Dragon's are much improved this season, but IMO so are the Panther's. This game will go to the team that has their heads screwed on the straightest. If the weather report for Friday holds up we could be in store for a wet one. Wouldn't that change things somewhat? I know the game will be on turf, but it could put a damper on both team's passing game to some degree. I'm not sure who that favors the most. The Dragon's were able to move the ball on the ground fairly good against Bell. I look forward to a hard nosed, injury free game. Good luck to the Dragon's.

Harlan has a RB I can't remember the name of, he was a load last year. Best case scenario, it is a close game that comes down to a 50 yd FG, and we trot out ZBV, Dragonsdad! lol

Harlan did run the ball decent againt Bell, but let us not forget Bell basically has a "re-loaded" defense out there this season with a new headcoach and a new shot caller for the defense. That being said I do think Harlan could possibly shock them, but for now i'm sticking with Pike. 26-13

You shouldn't have said that ,PHS,now i'll dream about it.LOL

I like pikeville big over harlan ind.
08-15-2011, 12:11 PM
You know what,PHS? If ZBV gets that chance and he hits that 50 yarder, then he and the Panther's deserve the win. ZBV is a great high school kicker. You can't take that away from him.

I think the dragons may pull this one out. I will be pulling for them. If they can get better on D then they may have a shot at Hazard this year.
That being said I think this being at Pikeville

Win or lose, that kind of game would be a pleasure to witness. A loss that way would be hard to take. But,being a UK football fan since birth,I've learned to deal with it,somewhat. I still cover my eyes and peek thru my fingers on the last play and maybe not eat or sleep to good for a day or two afterwards. So,if you are there and it comes down to ZBV and a last play, look for the guy in a green tee shirt with his hands over his eyes and you'll know it's me.LOL

Dragons make a statement, and leave Pattonville with a 27-17 win, as ZBV hits a 48 yard FG to end the first half.
