I'll take the Tomcats in this one, just don't think that 2 years without a home loss will get a win against Ashland. I'm hearing that the Bulldogs are having a little size issue but are otherwise very sound. Ashland is supposed to be returning alot, but from a team that didn't quite live up to it's potential, I think Leon Hart will see that they fix that this year. I feel Ashland can be beaten, but I just think it won't happen in the 1st game. Let's hope that I'm wrong here, but my gut just says the 2 year home winning streak is giving flase confidence and would be best not mention in front of the Bulldogs, they will need to believe in themselves, not something that has no real bearing on the task at hand. Good luck to both teams.

Not sure but didn't they pad the schedule during the last few years? If that's true I'd say that two year win streak at home could be alittle misleading?

Ashland Paul Blazer by 2 td's.

I know we allhave our own oppinions, but even though my gut says Tomcats win,2 or 3 td margin is a bit much for anyone in the 1st game of the season, espeacially on the road against a quality team.Make no mistake about it,the Bulldogs are a quality team.If Ashland thinks any thing less then I will be wrong.

LC hasn't lost at home in 2 years. Lc- 21 Ashland 14

This group is on a mission, I've watched them since winter workouts in January all the way up to dead period an you would've thought they were preparing for a game on the next Friday an it was first of March in the Weightroom. They averaged about 45 kids through the off season lifting an conditioning 3 days a week 3 hrs a day. I know that other teams probably do things like this as well, but Ill say this there's not going to be anybody out there that worked any harder or in better shape than These boys they are Hungry! Should be a fun year.

i believe with the o line coach this year the dawgs got nothing to worry about cause john caudill is the best o line coach in lawerence county

Well so far the craziest thing I have heard is L.C. has the game over by halftime. Not saying L.C can't win but with Ashland returning most key players a 4 yr starter at qb and the same offensive and defensive systems. While the dawgs have some questions and a new coaching staff I'd bet on a tomcat blowout before a L.C. one.

Always_A_Lion I think your absolutely right. IMO the tomcats will win this one but it won't be easy. The dawgs will imo battle them to the wire. The one thing I think the bulldogs have going for them is the cats seem to be a team that starts slow and gets better and better as the season goes. I know that the years we beat the cats. I was happy we played them early in the season and not later. The cats are very experienced. Seasoned!! But so are alot of the dawgs players! Both have good and experienced QB's. Both have very good skilled players. IMO the cats will have just enough speed to eek out the win. But after the loss I think the dawgs go on a big winning streak. If these teams stay HEALTHY both will have great seasons! Good luck to both!! I will be at this game. We get to play both these teams this season. Tomcats 28 Dawgs 26.

The Tomcats better bring the A game in to Louisa! They got the team imo to beat the dawgs. But it will be a battle!! Two very good teams...

Lc does a different head coach but he isnt new. He is loyal to lc just what we needed. There are a few new guy but then there some that have been here which makes for a really good staff. I hear all this talk that ashland returns alot well so do the bulldogs especially on the defensive side. Dawgs are tough at home especially in opener
#74
I'm going to say Ashland wins this. I agree with the weak scheduling. Lawrence Co has played weaker teams at home no doubt, I mean if they are as good as they talk then why would they get blew out both years against Bell in the playoffs? Maybe the new coach will fix that and start scheduling better throughout, rather than waiting until the playoffs. Ashland by atleast 2 TD's.
#75
Have you seen Bell county play in person? Lol a lot of teams would have got blown out including Ashland last year.

I wasn't trying to sound smartellic so I apologize if I came across that way. I'm just saying that Bell County has a football program not just a team. That team the past two years would have dominated any team in this area. As much as I would like to ses someone beat Bell, I can admit they are a football powerhouse because everyone down there buys into what they are doing. Ashland was just an example, and no one on here can say that Ashland could have beaten Bell last year.
#78
Ashland has always had a tough team, I just honestly belive it's going to be a tough game for both teams in the opener. Could be high-scoring one or could have a lot of mistakes and blown assignments and turnovers.

Question is who wants it more?
#79
I think that Ashland will win this one by a TD.

Who will be taking the majority of the handoffs in the backfield now that Hunter James is gone?

LC wins this one hands down!!! I've said it over and over in this thread and i'm sticking to my word, game over at half time, the players are as disciplined as ever from the great guidance that the new staff has instilled. This is the best Coaching staff ever at LC and the best players to come through the school! Even better than the team with mike west about a decade ago!! Go Dawgs!!!

Well Ill just go ahead an get word to Coach Hart to not even bother making the trip. Since this ragtag bunch from Ashland can't stay on the field with lawerence co.

And to say the tomcats aren't as disciplined is just rediculous. they also have one of the best coaches in Ashlands history and ive said it before and will say it again HE WILL Win a state championship before he leaves.

The Dawgs Have been Impressive the Last two years But there best victory in said two years is a victory over Sheldon Clark So they havent exactly been World Beaters. Also Ashland Has A Thing For Ending Home Winning Streaks Just Ask The Russell Red Devils I believe They were over 20 Games and almost 3 years when Leon Hart and the Tomcats ended That streak.

And as most people would agree the Dawgs Have More Questions Than The Tomcats going into the season as well as they graduated there best offensive player.

So i believe L.C can Win but the game will not be over by halftime from either side:Thumbs:

Good Idea I mean you would think that if the green bay packers were to go play a game in louisa they would lose so why should we even waist the gas? lol

When has Lawrence ever been disciplined? Some of you bulldog fans are just kidding yourself if you think you can beat us. Coach Hart has forgot more football that what your staff knows.Every year we are the cream of the crop in the area and it's not going to change this year. I can't wait until the A-train comes to Louisa and party's at the dog pound!

I dont know who that kid is but let me say this, there is no way LC beats Ashland by half-time. I am a Bulldog fan but at the same time I know this will be a tough game for both squads. Alot of mistakes and turnovers could plague both. To even think that this staff and team is better then my graduating class with Dontae Wright and Michael West by the way a team that went undefeated regular season and only lost to Bell County 8-0 is freaking ridiculous lol. Your a idiot and everyone on here knows it. Ashland does have a great coah in Leon Hart and a butt load of talent but are they going to stomp LC in the season opener, doubtful.. Can they win, i'm sure they can but will they? I dont know and nobody does that's why they play.
#86
LC has had many disciplined teams in the past under Chuke Williams and Billy Goldsmith. To say that LC hasn't is stupid. Ashland doesn't always show the most class either, just ask any team they have played. Lawrence County's defense will be put to the test as Ashland does spread you out, but can Ashland's defense stop the Dawg's offense????
#87
Should be a hard hitting very exciting season opener for both. I think LC needs to prove themselves a little bit this year in sense that if they can beat or compete with a school like Ashland this year that the season should be pretty good including district play.
#88
Do they still have a scrimmage this saturday?

yes sir at Huntington High at 10:00
