Shelby Valley 91 - David School 6
#31
I could see the first game being this lopsided but as it was previously stated the 2nd game should have been played by young kids with no experience. They knew going in that this game was just a mismatch so why even dress your top 7 or 8 players?

Go to the khsaa website and check out some scores for David this season. East Ridge beat them earlier in the season by 84 points. Sometimes things like this are hard to avoid. I'm sure Coach Booher didn't sit in the locker room and tell his team that they needed to win by more than 84 in case seeding comes down to a point differential tiebreaker. Gimme a break people...

I have talked to some of the players about the first time they played and they couldn't believe Booher still played man to man full court.

Because Booher is classless... Alfus i understand what your saying about not just letting David score, but Valley didnt have to play man to man full court...

I guess Booher knows he wont beat anyone else bad this year, so he made up for it with this game. I know David has been lost almost every game this year by a big margin, but come on, full court man to man against them.... I bet Rodney wouldnt have done that. That is the difference in class and no class. If he Booher was wanting to practice his full court man to man, why didnt he schedule Belfry for his practice? This is the weakest schedule SV has had in many years and they are still losing games. Rebuilding year? How many rebuildign years did Coach Rowe have during his time there? None. He showed the players respect and they would play there butts off for him. Booher, he cant even keep players on his team.

Rodney never had to face the likes of Piarst or David School while he was there....And Rodney loved beating people badly...Here's two good examples that I found...
2000
Shelby Valley 95 - Elkhorn City 34
2001
Shelby Valley 84 - Souh Floyd 26

Plus tons of 30+ point wins over teams....

Plus why do you care so much about Belfry and Shelby Valley all of the sudden? I'm sure he didn't care to play Belfry but Belfry would have been over the games limit with all the tournaments they have been in.

Don't act like you know the Shelby Valley program because by saying that Rowe didn't have any rebuilding years is a huge joke. He had several terrible years leading up to his nice run starting in 99'....Coach Rowe had nothing but rebuilding years up until that season....Rowe even quit the team twice he had some many problems with his players....And don't talk about keeping players on teams, because if you really knew the Shelby Valley program you'd know how many people quit on Rodney Rowe over the years or just flat out didn't play at all....

Let me tell you people something, I do not cheer for Shelby Valley in no way, but it is inevitable for David to get beat, and get beat badly. They did theirself in by jumping straight into the KHSAA. Good move by the AD.

I don't care how you slice it, when you blow a team out like this your coach and your team has NO CLASS whatsoever. All this accomplishes is boosting ppg averages and other averages and it totally embarrasses the other team. NO CLASS SV NO CLASS

Then I guess East Ridge doesn't have any class either for beating like that earlier in the season....Buckhorn doesn't have much class either because they thrashed em' pretty badly too...Rose Hill pounded them by 80, so no class...

"BelfryPride" Wrote:Like I said in another thread...I am glad that Belfry did not schedule them.

No but Belfry really HAD to schedule big bad Piarist didn't they?
#41
6 points is pretty bad to score in one game....who had the 6 points anyways?
#42
Thats so sad. Uncalled for.

I Agree

You said one thing right alfus, up untill the 99 season. Then SV was the dominate team around here till the parents got rid of him just like they are going to do with Booher. It is bad when the players are bigger than what is supposed to be the top dog program in the area. If the rumor mill is correct, and Booher steps down then I know the players are bigger than the program. I know you will say I dont know what I am talking about. But I was told by a very high official at SV that Booher is "a aggressive young coach and he will be here for a very long time". That most likely wont be the case because school people have been told that if he is there next year, there two hold backs because they are not mature enough for high school this year wouldnt play there next year. The funny part about it is. They are not mature enough for high school classes or something, because they are playing high school ball now.

In a way i can kind of see Alfus' point here.. Granted they could have let up their D just a little. but if a team can't score more than 6 points then they don't need to be playin..

The peewee leage teams can at least get to 12..
#46
i still find it an unbelieveable score.....
#47
sv should not do that to david, they already know they are going to win so just play everyone and try to keep it a little closer......unlike 91-6
#48
If your a coach how do you just tell your players not slack up? You cant, because you always want them to play hard. Just put the players that dont get to play much in, thats all you can do.
#49
Of course you never want your players to slack up. In a game that matters.. But what would it matter in a game like this?
#50

yea i agree with you ace if your a coach you want your players to play hard everytime they step out on the court it doesnt matter who you are playing if you are telling your players to slack up your being a bad coach.

"alfus21" Wrote:I think David School does a fine job of making themselves look bad..Other teams don't have to try...

can u show just a lil respect, i mean come on, at least these boys dont quit, and they keep goin even if they get beat that bad, so just hush man
#52
yeah, they got 6 players? i mean have you ever played on a team with 6 players? i played on a team at Ball camp that had 6 players and its rough. So they get out there and bust there butts to play basketball. And to me Valley should have put there Freshman out there, sounds like the coach has no respect for any other team, no sportsmanship.
#53
i've played on a team with 6 players.. I know how hard it is. It was middle school ball though.. But still...
#54
yeah it is rough, and plus with this the first year ever playin ball, they got to get used to all the tough teams in the 15th region. Where is David Exactly Located? maybe next year they can get some more players to come out for the team.
#55
six players or 14 players they still should have scored more than 6 points
#56
i mean come on they have Blake Stumbo who is averagin about 20 per game
#57
yeah i agree with that, there bad but there still tryin and not giving up. But my point is that it isnt like they got all the energy in the world. And Somone said They pressed all First period. Thats goin to wear you down, And They cant be in the best physical Shape ever either?

Tongue . Yeah they should have had atleast 26 points? :O
#58
"alfus21" Wrote:No but Belfry really HAD to schedule big bad Piarist didn't they?

Yes, for district seeding purposes.
#59
Nice class Booher, cant wait till someone beats Valley like this
#60
is this seriously the final score??? if so thats kinda unbelieveable.... i hope Valley had their jv/freshmen team playing the game after the first quarter cause if not then they need a touch of sportsmanship and class.
