Somerset vs. Paducah Tilghman (3A State Championship) 12/5

I feel that it's Somerset's year and I believe there O-Line will be the difference maker in the game. Somerset wins by 1 td.

That is bold UCFB, we shall see!

You can call them mountain all you want but I've never seen anyone outside of the Mountains call Somerset a Mountain team. If it makes you feel good at night, that's fine but look at that map again and tell me just where does that line end, Lincoln County? :eyeroll:
#37
I don't consider somerset mountain but I'm pulling for them since the state put them in the east.
#38
I would like to extend a great big Thank You to all of the people that are supporting the Briar Jumpers! I hope that these boys can bring home the trophy back to Somerset. It is Very long past due!
As for the arguement that Somerset is not a Mountain team, I think it can go both ways. Eastern Pulaski County has a few elevations up to 1,800 feet with several being +1,300. My take is that just out of the Somerset east limits is the gateway to the Appalachian Mountains from South Central KY.

They may not be dead in the center of the mountains but they are in the WYMT viewing area and are part of the "Mountain Top 10" that's good enough for me. I'm not that concerned with it anyway, I don't care which region gets credit for Somerset--I'd just love for them to bring a championship back to Somerset for the Briar Jumper fans.

This thread reminds me of the '07 game central vs. belfry. the poll was 9-40 or so that belfry would win, and we all know how that turned out. sometset might be fine and dandy against mediocre competition, but i dont believe they will even compete with tilghman, if somerset proves me wrong, ill congratulate them, there is just no way, after the revambing of the tilghman team that somerset will previal in this game.

Who was PT six losses to. So its no secret that I am a Cardinal fan. I was so excited that this year would have been there year to bring it home. When LC handed them their first loss my husband told me it would be near impossible for a defeated team to bring the state title home. With that being said. Briar Jumpers...you so far have proved my husband right. Your undefeated status makes you the favorite. Find the weakness in the PT team and get the job done just like you did with SC. Bring it on back to the East, South, Mountains or wherever...You have a lot of Cardinal Support.

Somerset in a close battle.

Good luck Somerset. Actually, we are not practicing this week at all. The Tilghman football community instead is busy raising funds to buy 30" Esinem chrome spinners for our bus.

Somerset wins!

Now that would be a cool looking bus, but I'm not buying it--lol. Hopefully it will be a safe, competitive game. See you Saturday.

If PT is so good why even play this game just give them the
trophy.

somerset has not seen a team the likes of tilghman all year, and they simply have something else coming. from watching both play, in all honesty somerset is lucky to be playing in this game.

Really!? Which game(s) of Somerset's did you watch this year? Just wondering which game you saw that made you think we didn't deserve to be here.

Good to hear CP! The Jumpers are proud to be representing the Mountains (East for anyone who takes offense to Somerset being called a mountain team).

Seriously though, does this guy have family in Paducah and Somerset or something? No offense but I'm not buying it. I just don't see why anyone would have watched Somerset and PT in person this year. They are only about 5 hours away from each other. Perhaps you mistakenly watched Highlands or St. X or something because those are the only teams I could see handing Somerset a loss like that. And if you had watched Somerset play you wouldn't be saying they are lucky to be in this game because I have seen all of their games and they were head and shoulders above everyone else they've played in 3A.

It is easy to scout a team. Much more difficult to define and scout a movement.

Conj: to Somerset. Super year. The Fans in Raider Country wish you good Luck, bring back the Large Trophy.

Ok, well everyone i hear considers then a mountain team because they're in the WYMT coverage area!! But, ok then i guess there are no mountain teams going to Bowling Green! I'm so sorry that i don't know the difference. Please excuse my incompetence?

there is alot of talking going on wonder if the posters on here will be big enough to give the winning team the credit at the end of the day.

I don't think you're hearing any talk from the Somerset fans. There may be some talk from some people that are picking Somerset but we know that we'll have to have our best effort yet to have a chance to win. Hopefully thats what we'll get and we'll be right there with a chance to win at the end. Its been a team effort for our group all year and they know that they aren't talented enough to just show up and roll over anyone at this point in the season.

Actually alot of Cardinal support will be supporting PT while we warmup for our game. No idea what Cardinal you are but the Cardinals there will firmly be behind PT.

Calling Somerset a mountain team is like saying Paducah is a ocean front town. The argument that some radio station in God knows where is in their coverage area is like saying that Somerset is a TN town. I'm sure there are TN stations that can be picked up in TN.

Somerset will win this game in PT plays like it did early on (they did go into this way of play early in the Central game) B U T if they play to their potential they will be a hard out. This team has loads of talent but they have a tendency to play without disapline at times with boat loads of turnovers and penalities. Which one shows up will be interesting and I hope it is the PT that has been winning in the playoffs

We here in McCreary don't care where Somerset is from, all we know they are the next County Over. Good Luck.
