Congrats to the rebels. I picked you guys to win this game! I knew you would come through for me!

Let's talk about the running games. Unofficial stats show that CCHS picked up 77 yards on 35 carries. That's 2.2 yards per carry. Boyle rolled up 232 yards on 32 carries (7.3 yards per carry) and Rees broke some big gainers along the way.

The thread leading up to the game made much of Christian's tough schedule and how they put up big rushing numbers on some great teams. Conversely it was said that Boyle padded their stats against weak opponents. Those arguments don't hold much water now though. I wonder what happened?

Based on the above analysis, is it fair to say that this Boyle Defense is the best that anyone has seen in at least SIX years?

I'm coughing up crow feathers now.

Props to you for eating your crow like a man. I really didn't expect to see you on this thread tonight. You have earned my respect.

That's not the first time in my life I've been wrong my friend.

With this win, Boyle County has added to the much earned respect that had from me already.

Good win for the Rebels.

Tandy was a beast last year against Highlands. I heard he was out tonight but was not sure if that was true?

Here's a wrap-up from the Hopkinsville Paper:

http://www.kentuckynewera.com/articles/2...564023.txt

There were three players out for CC.

Don't care for all the "excuse" making from the star Defensive player for CC. :dontthink

But that's hometown journalism for you. :eyeroll:

Very nice win Boyle!

I told you guys Boyle was as good as advertised, and i think the best defensive player on the field was Mr.Dawson, not Mcduffen Lamars only a junior.I think barring major injuries we could see him playing on sundays sometime in the future.

According to their paper, these three were out:

Christian County (6-4), the sixth-ranked team in Class 5-A, was without starting quarterback Alex Davie, who suffered a concussion last weekend. In addition, linebacker John Paul Finley broke his collarbone in an off-field incident last weekend and wide receiver Marcoreyon Tandy was severely dehydrated after last week’s loss to Murfreesboro Oakland and did not play.

I know you aren't saying it but it always gripes me when everyone talks about this injury or that one, particularly in print. Every losing team can pretty much come up with the excuse that if "so and so" had played the game would have been different. I found little sympathy for my teams in the past when star players were out so I doubt I'll shed tears for other teams in the same circumstances.

Great win for the Rebels. Like most of you have said, I was really surprised by the crowd that CC had. I know it was a little cool and rainy, but it is bad when a visiting team (that trailed 3 1/2 hours) has more fans than you do. One of the chain guys said has been that way all year. He said that they don't get much support. I will tell you this ,like I said in a previous thread, CC has one of the best facilities in the state.

We show tonite that we are as good as advertised. The defense is just unbelievable and our running game in one of the best. Good luck to CC in the playoffs and GO REBELS.

Impressive win for Boyle and good luck getting to the semi's. By the way I have to pull for my region not trying to start anything.

“We didn’t come with our game today,” Colonels’ defensive end M****** Mc****** said. “We may have overlooked them. We had a couple of people out and we had a few people who didn’t bring their ‘A’ game.”

How do you overlook the number one team in the state on your home field? That would be like Kentucky overlooking Florida. I know it's just a kid talking but still...

It's a kid who has signed to play Division 1 Football at UK. Might not wash when you go play in the Nation's best conference next year.

Where was the Christian County students last night? Shocked that no one came to cheer on the home team.

Christian County was the best team that we have played this year. This was a very good game for Boyle to get them ready for the playoffs. 21-0 in a constant rain for 4 quarters was very impressive. Great Job Rebs!

3 straight shut outs, 4 for the season, and 6 total for the defense. Johnson Central and Lafayette ran kick offs back for their only score. The defense is peaking at the right time.

I have to disagree on one point. Lex Cath was much better than Christian County especially on the offensive side of the ball. CC never really came close to scoring.

True...they never came close to scoring, but they could have broke one at any moment. I wasn't the least bit scared during the Catholic game as I was last night. The Lex Cath game was not in a constant rain either. If these two play IMO CC would win because Lex Cath would not be able to stop their runnning game like we did.

We had better stop turning the ballover. Starting yo really concern me.

I just don't see it brother. I think that Lex Cath is a MUCH more complete team. Oh well...

I agree 100%. I've been saying the same thing all season long. The deeper we go in the playoffs the more likely turnovers will kill us. Think back to the 14th game of last season.

Losing 3 players due to injuries did hurt Christian County, but I don't think it would have affected the outcome. Your offense is not the problem when the opponent is averaging 7.3 yards a carry. That's your defense.

As for the quote from from McDuffin, you have to give the kid credit for speaking the truth and admitting the team's mistake if they "overlooked" Boyle County.

That being said, Boyle is due to make another deep run in the playoffs. Christian County has played a tough schedule, but I don't see a Central-like turnaround in the playoffs.

Credit is given then.

However, when he goes to UK will he overlook Miss. State as well? :eyeroll:

I agree I think Hatz is being a little hard on the kid. He did not have a great game, his team lost and he has to answer because he's their best defender. Hard spot for a kid.
