Id say Brent wanted all the hype for his team and his first team and he sure isn’t living up to it. All I hear all summer “ Belfry front runner to win the region “ well they couldn’t pike county middle school championship right now. I seen countless d&d or Daryl post on Facebook twitter and now I just laugh about it. All the hype for nothing. Jenkins is a mediocre team and to lose is embarrassing for belfry.

No one ever said that Belfry was a front runner for region. They were the worst team in the region last year. I still think they are a lot better than last year. Jenkins will surprise some people in the 14th region this year. Belfry plays all the top 15th region teams this year so we will get a look at how they match up before the season is over. They lost to Pike Central by 68 last year

Agree with this, David & Darryl put way too much hype on this team, but don’t get me wrong they are still a very decent team.

it was a task to get excitement around the program that has been in the dumpster for several years...... he cant help it that darrel put unfair expectations on them i never saw anyone affiliated with the program call them a front runner for the region that is ridiculous

Agree with that. I was surprised how good Jenkins was when watching them. I’d probably pick them against any 15th region team other than Martin and Pikeville if they played tonight. This may be the best Jenkins team ever.

Pump the brakes on the best Jenkins team. Jenkins has a good team. The team of Brian Johnson, Johnny Ray Williams and Dixon would handle them. They have the possibility of being the 4th or 5th best team in the 14th Region and winning the 53rd District.

Belfry needs a lot of work to become better. Needs an inside game.

Albeit to take up for d and d because they severely underestimated us but did I miss something did they actually say belfry was a front runner, if so that was crazy with a new coach taking over last place team in region. Only thing I seen them do as far as rankings had belfry 8 or 9 . I don’t think belfry is region champs cause we will be but I do think they have a good ball team, Jenkins is one of the best 5 teams in 14th and they lost by 6 I think. Enough talk bout teams behind us, come watch us hand one to Floyd Central tonight, Pente has been playing great and so has Carter

6’6 forward Ethan Diles was ruled eligible by the KHSAA today, he is a 2025 talent out of North Central, South Carolina. Diles can play multiple positions on the floor, he will be a big help to the Pirates on both ends!!

Agreed about Winston Lee. Awesome person and coach. I was sad to see Jenkins leave the 15th Region, but glad they went back to the 14th where they wanted to be.
