Jenkins 71 Belfry 64
#1
I’m tired of all this belfry hype. They are not good and really aren’t top 10 in the region. Heard enough of them lol
#2
When was the last time Jenkins beat a regional team?

Belfry reminds me of Colorado when Deon Prime Time first got there a lot of noise but still a 4-8 football team. Lol
#4
belfry is not good ATALL but i will say that is not your regular jenkins team either they played great basketball tonight and have a lot more talent than used to....... for belfry id say the same thing i would have said to colorado last year since an above poster made that comparison it is not going to be a one year fix to make that program good

i just hope coach perry is in for the long haul and then belfry will be fine......... cant have him run off after this year but i wont be surprised

Jenkins better than I thought. Belfry has no size and can’t rebound. Will kill them all season. Also thought there was too many 3’s for Belfry and not much going to the rack to get fouled. Jenkins honestly could be a top 5 team in the 15th. Think they got some transfers from Letcher.
#6
Good win Coach Lee. I agree belfry wayyy over hyped.
#7
Congrats to Jenkins on a big win.

Belfry shot bad shots instead of running some solid motion and being patient. Rash is a good player. Was surprised to see this team be hyped like they have been. Maybe this new transfer will be the difference maker.

Jenkins looks better than normal but I think it’s insane to think of them as a top five team in the region.

Who’s the new transfer for Belfry?
#9
Dials. He’s not eligible yet according to D&D live stream

It's pretty cool to see how competitive Jenkins has become over the last four years. They went from 1-23 and 2-16 seasons to having back-to-back winning seasons. Obviously, their schedule isn't the hardest but still cool for the community to have a winning team especially with all the issues trying to field a football team.

This wasn’t a regional team. Jenkins moved to the 14th 2 years ago.

Yeah but in my heart Jenkins always be considered a 15th region team.  Was one for way too long not to still count it.

True that. Jenkins moving to the 14th really was pointless and served zero purpose.

This game shows the 15th region might be a little overrated. How can a team who beat a team who beat martin county get beat by Jenkins? Pikeville is the clear favorite and will beat Martin county by 10+

I thought the pirates had the big three. But if a bottom feeder like Jenkins beats you in that sport it may not be for you. Pond creek need to stick to football. Then what do I know if you can’t beat a 5’6 qb then you suck.

Belfry is not a good basketball team. If you had any hope left in Belfry, that hope was stripped away last night. I don’t see Belfry making it to the regional tournament this year. 60th district will be represented by Phelps and Pike Central this year.

Belfry supposedly had a big man transfer in and is not eligible but unless it’s Shaq or Olajuwon it won’t make a difference.

Nice win for the Cavaliers and Coach Lee. Hayes was a big addition to them from LCC.
#22
First time in school history that Jenkins has beat Belfry. Great win for the Cavaliers and Coach Winston Lee.

I thought with the coaching hire that this team was going to be competitive. Boy was I wrong, these belfry boys couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. New coach, new team, doesn’t matter. Belfry losing to Jenkins is all I needed to see to know they have absolutely no chance to do anything good this season. Maybe next year.

With the super region they will still make the regional tournament (everyone does) but it will be a short lived tourney for them I’d say. Belfry is just an average team with a couple above average players. But you’re right, having a 6’6 kid don’t stop your guards from turning the ball over way too much and jacking up 40 three pointers a game. Maybe I’m wrong but, belfry is down towards the bottom with East ridge and Pburg and I don’t see them making any moves to the top this season

Belfry spends to much time taking interviews and pictures than actually practicing, disappointing day in pond creek.

How many of you replying were actually at the game?  Serious question.

Belfry didn’t get beat by a typical Jenkins team. They’ve got about 7 guys that can play, two of which would start on EVERY team in the 15th region. Ask the former coaches that ref’d this game and they’ll tell you the same thing.

I don’t know how good Belfry will be over the course of the season, but I know they’ll be better than last season, guaranteed.  They just had a good win over Perry Central.

Losing to Jenkins “looks” bad, but I assure you this Cavalier team bares no resemblance to any Jenkins team we’ve seen the past 20 years.  If you were there you’d realize this Jenkins team can play with or beat any team in the 15th region, no exaggeration whatsoever.

Hold off on the Belfry/Coach Perry judgment until at least mid-January, and go watch Jenkins play.  You’ll be surprised at the very least.

I forgot about the super region. I agree with you. If a tier list was made Belfry would have to sit at the bottom.

Agree. Let’s see how Belfry is in a month. The Jenkins team I saw last night is very good. The Hayes kid is very good and the guard I have no clue his name was the best player on the floor. Definitely not your typical Jenkins team. They’ve had several transfers a few from Letcher that have made a real difference. I’d say at least 50 of their points come in the paint. Hopefully Belfry can prove some folks wrong on this message board.

Pikeville is the clear favorite right now But I do think this region is very wide open. Jc will get it together Martin will get it together paintsville as well. Lc Betsy Layne pike c and my jags all r dangerous on any given night. History has told us look no further than the 57th district and pikeville and you will eventually find your region champion. I don’t see that changing this year. All of pikeville transfers has fit in nicely so far but it’s early. I think pikeville was undefeated in region all of last season until Martin beat them again in the tournament. Makes for a exciting season
