3-4 positions on the field are available for white kids. RB isn’t one of them. If that bothers you, so be it. Keep being a humble compliant of woke ideology and say nothing.
But hey, the GPA requirement for participation is now down to 2.0 because of diversity, equity, equality or some other made up bullshit. If that isn’t enough, just change genders and dominate women’s sports. The world is yours if you’re sick enough to stomach it.

However, there is a difference in holding your kid back while they're in high school vs holding them back in grade school. The extra year of high school football experience and weightlifting would be the most noticeable differences. You're not experiencing that when you're in grade school. But again, don't take this as a dig on Dixon I'm glad he won I thought he was just as deserving as everyone else.
I can agree on the extra year of weight lifting and football experience, and I could even see the argument even more if this was the lone year Dixon was a candidate for Mr Football but unless I’m wrong this is the 3rd year in a row, that’s pretty dang gone impressive.

He’s a kid that is absolutely no kin to me whatsoever and he has been wronged because of his skin color. I don’t like it, I don’t think it’s fair at all to him and other kids in his situation no more than I think bigots are right in saying black kids can’t be Quarterbacks.

There's a lot of discussion on here that I didn't read through, so, I apologize if this has already been discussed. However, I believe a lot these kids that may be borderline D1 prospects are being affected by the transfer portal. Most schools are sitting on scholarships waiting to see who's going to enter the portal, especially, after spring practice. Used to they would take a chance on a good hs prospect, now, they're waiting on proven, experienced college prospects that could make an immediate impact (i.e. Wandale Robinson).

I normally would agree Dougie, but it’s become so prevalent now if you don’t hold your kid back for athletics then it becomes hard for a normal kid of average athleticism to compete and get playing time in any sport. I also graduated at 17 and definitely wasn’t ready for the real world looking back it lead to a lot of immature decisions because of that.

A lot of people have made this thread into something it shouldn’t, but it’s as simple as this… Dixon is good enough to play at the next level. I have family members that played against recent EKU recruits and UK recruits on the line and in the backfield, everyone of them says Dixon is the greatest athlete they have seen. Ask any player who lined up against him, they say the same. No matter his race or what the situation is, he worked himself to a position to get to be on a roster at the D1 level and no other person can say different. 4.4 speed, probably in pads, and power and the ability to break tackles more than anyone i’ve ever seen. The system is broken if he isn’t on a roster. I’m not saying bama or kentucky, but mid major D1 programs should be kissing the ground he walks on. Best back in the state since damien harris, who was on a different tier.
03-21-2022, 01:26 PM
Just a question.. does Dixon want to play D1 ball? He's not going to make it to the NFL, so is his college goal to go walk on and be on the sidelines for D1 ball? Or is he more interested in going somewhere where he can play now and make an impact immediately.

When I took my son there for his final visit before he decided where he would go, they asked him about that very thing and said they were kinda hesitant to offer anyone from Belfry anything because they weren't sure if they'd stay. So I would say it was atleast considered when they made Dixon an offer, IMO.

Their were atleast three players from Belfry who went to EKU from the same class one year and none of them finished. Two of the three would have played out all four years if it wasn't for unfortunate circumstances, I believe, but them leaving still wasn't a good look. The other one just quit from what I was told.(03-21-2022, 05:00 PM)OutlawJoseyWales Wrote:IDK id this is true but I heard the reason that EKU didn't offer him.a full scholly was cause of the Belfry guys that have went there in recent years that ended up leaving. He's not going to make it to the NFL, so is his college goal to go walk on and be on the sidelines for D1 ball? Or is he more interested in going somewhere where he can play now and make an impact immediately.
I think he would welcome the opportunity to play D1....as a scholly athlete. Financially....that is probably the only way.
When I took my son there for his final visit before he decided where he would go, they asked him about that very thing and said they were kinda hesitant to offer anyone from Belfry anything because they weren't sure if they'd stay. So I would say it was atleast considered when they made Dixon an offer, IMO.

One was shot, one tore his pec (destroyed it) and the other did quit and just went to school. Sooooo really just 1 of them left on their own without outside circumstance.(03-21-2022, 08:12 PM)pirateforlife Wrote:I'd just about guarantee that played a part in it. No matter what the circumstances were or how unfortunate they were, just by them leaving could still make coaches from that program hesitant about making offers to kids from that school/area. Just the way it works sometimes. I wasn't talking bad about those young men, I know their situation well.

Dixon was the best rb in the state of ky. Won Mr. Football. Shame on coach stoops at uk not giving this kid a scholarship. If David Jones vould play at uk this kid sure could play there. A ky Mr. Football winner should automatically get a full scholarship from an instate school of his choice. I telling everybody this kid can play at UK!!!!
Who is this real badman clown on here? He has no clue. Just sounds like a jealous fan from a rival school. If this person is an adult? Grow up and give this Dixon kid a break. I watched him play his entire high school career and I was at state championships whe ran all over bell County to win a state championship and I was there this year when he ran all over Paducah Tilghman to win a state championship. So if you are an adult put your jealousy aside. Has your school ever had a MR. FOOTBALL?

Interesting this pops back up, considering one of EKU's coaches answered the question of why they didn't offer him when asked by one of the HS coaches at the clinic Friday. The EKU coach praised him as a great player but.......... and that but was enough for them not to offer. I would be willing to bet if that "but" was enough for EKU to not offer, it is definitely enough for UK not to offer.
No im not stating what the but is either so dont ask. (its not a bad but, just enough of a but for high level programs not to offer)
