Oh. Well you know that kid lowered his sholder when he sat up the pick. You don't think they were going to let Crum get off easy for switching did you?? Someone needs to start a new thread. Lol:Clap:

IDK, I wasn't at that game. And I'm sure the players weren't gonna let him get off easy, but I doubt very seriously that coach Hammonds told his players to hurt him.

Well, from what i've herd, i wouldn't put it past him... you know he probably didnât directly say hurt him... but i can imagine what he did say in the huddle it being a close game and loud with excitement. "When you go to set that pick, pick him hard! Make him regret his decision that he made."
Oh yeah, not to mention when the clock timer didnât start until 3 seconds after SC had the ball, trying to score at the end of the game when it was with short range of points.

IMO once you've given up or walked out on your team (coach or player) you should'nt be given a second chance because I've always been taught, "You always don't get a second chance in life."

Why didn't one of the players inform Jaryd that the pick was coming? Danny Hinkle plays a physical style of ball but i KNOW he wouldnt try to hurt anyone on purpose, especially Jaryd Crum. The students at Sc are still good friends with him and we understand that he did what he thought was best for his basketball career.
Back on topic I think Meeks will make a positive impact on his team heading into the postseason. What's it gonna hurt?

It's hard to really give an opinion unless you know the circumstances first hand. I mean who really knows what happened except for the people involved? Is it wrong to give a kid a second chance or should he be taught that if you screw up you will never get a second chance in life? As for Starns not many people thought he was a bad coach last year.

I personally don't know what went on with Jesse or Starns.
I just don't understand why come back and finish the season when there's only 5 games or so in the season and take the minutes away from those players that have went through the practices and games? Don't think Jesse is going to save them this season. Didn't seem to work much at Magoffin last Friday night anyway. Now, there looking at the 4 and 5 seed being a play in game and needing a win. May be a win, but then they would have Paintsville to beat at Paintsville to get to the regional tournament.
As for Coach Starns situation, I don't think being down 15 at Magoffin on Friday night at the half and then go into the locker room to get the team fired up and ready to come out in the third. What's the players going to do yes sir, let's go out and get em guys.
Don't think that would really work considering he had supposedly quit or resigned during the season.

Well did Hammonds say that? He may teach his players to play like that, but Starns doesn't teach that at JC.

Where was Les Trimble's second chance? I'm pretty sure he had a better record than 7-15 every year that he was expected to finish in the top 5 in the region.

I'm sure most of us know more about basketball than you. We have heard that story multiple times, you act like he quit because of personal problems or somethin, had that have been the case Starnes would have let him back on the team a long time ago. He's a quitter, he quit because he didn't wanna go by Starnes' rules, he was gonna get disciplined for his actions on the court so he quit.

What was your Cardinals record last year? I don't think they even won 7 games did they?

Sheldon Clark had IMO one of the best teams in the 15th last season. They had Johnson Central on the ropes and just let it slip away. That was without the kid from Mexico.

The Cards won 10 games last year!! Their record was 10-16 not very impressing to say the least.

What does that have anything to do with getting a second chance? That dosn't even make sense. Is there something wrong with you?

EYES ON YOU Wrote:Jesse Meeks is back!! He was at JC today practicing while their Freshman Big man was busy watching!!! What a big bunch of bullcrap this is turning out to become.I like Jesse, but once you have been gone for this long what is the point of returning? Are the Eagles this desperate that they welcome him back after he was dismissed after picking up techinal fouls in 3 out their first 5 games?I just don't think his presence will make a difference now!!! Imagine how the whole team must feel to know that he has been welcomed back at the end of what has turned out to be such a disappointing season. They have played through the ups and downs and have suffered with heartbreaking loss after heartbreaking loss. It's nothing more than a BIG SLAP IN THE FACE for all the players who have endured everything that has transpired this year!!I will still pick my Eagles to win 3 out their next 5 and surprise some people when they head into Regional play, but I will not Support Jesse Meeks return to the team!!!Shame on the Johnson County school board and coaching staff for letting this happen!!!
Just so you know...it was not the Johnson Co. School Board or the Coaching Staff...it was the team. The boys on the team voted and it was decided unanimously to bring Jesse back. I think it is a great move.
Welcome Back, Jesse....we really missed you!
