15th Regional Tournament
#31
No they don't..I grew up in East Point, the Floyd co side but close to Johnson county..It always seemed that they hated each other worse than any other school hated anyone..
Its usually the fans though, even that big fight between Prestonsburg and Paintsville started in the bleachers.
#32
Johnson Central if they slow it down and play physical and hammer those Lawrence county kids when they penetrate the lane old school hard fouls the Dalton boys will get mad and probably get thrown out they have bad attitudes. Centrals needs a little football in there play they play 10 kids Lawrence only has 5 kids no bench. Make your fouls count they will destruct old school.
#33
Paintsville would be just fine on their own if Bill Mike would retire.

Also -- whoever said Johnson Co didn't benefit from the consolidation of four high schools, you're crazy. Did you see the numbers from a previous post about how many region titles JC accounts for? Okay.

They consolidated in the late 60's and it was close to 20 yrs until they won anything.

Anyone who has coached both really small schools and large schools will tell you that putting together a talented team is much easier when you have 1200 students to choose from opposed to 250.

JC was formed 1968 from Meade Memorial, Flat Gap, Oil Springs & Van Lear.

JC has won the region in 1972, 1975, 1984.... then 2000, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015.

I would have to disagree, Paintsville has always been a small school and it seems like they have always put good teams on the floor and fields for yrs.

Kids down there transfer back and forth between schools

JC should win the region every year with their enrollment size. So, they have underachieved in my opinion until the last 4 yrs. They should have been doing this long before now.

Can't believe I'm reading this. You are actually saying that someone should "take out" a high school player? Really? You are a joke. There's no room in a sporting environment for someone like you. I hope you don't have any children. And if you do, I hope they listen to their mother.

Sure they have the biggest school in the region now days, but years ago when the schools were consolidated to form Johnson Central, JC wasn't that much bigger than some of the schools in the 15th region. But I agree they should have been more competitive than they were in the 90's!

However, winning every year is not that easy to do! After all, Johnson Central has WON (9) 15th Region Titles since the school was formed in 1968-69 and that is more than any other school in the region has in their trophy case in that time frame!

Nowhere in the post did he say intentionally hurt someone. He said make your fouls count and play mind games with them. You are the most defensive poster on BGR.
#43
He actually did say "hammer those Lawrence co. kids" and "they have bad attitudes". No dog in this fight, but pretty sad post imo.
#44
Whole bunch of Hillary supporters above me. Don't be soft, fellers.
#45
Sorry you don't like the word Hammer, but there's nothing wrong with a hard foul. If i was Johnson Central i would show them the video of the BAD BOYS and say who is going to be my RODMAN, MAHORN, LAIMBEER in the paint!! If we play like this we will win our 5th regional championship in a row.
#46
This is not football an LC starting 5 played Football JC only has 1 starter that played Football maybe the Dawgs will watch that Bad Boys Video.
These DAWGS are on a mission. Go Dawgs!!!!
#47
Go's back to attitude, think one has been suspended last year from team couldn't get along with coach been kicked out of football games think even suspended. They can't get to physical or they will be sitting on the bench as i said 5 players. All about the win buddy!! Plus heard it threw grape vine Timmy will probably be at JCS next year definitely not a Dawgs That's ATTITUDE!!

Confusednicker: Keep crying about your player leaving the game because of 5 fouls....or 4 fouls.....or 6 fouls.......whatever. Robert Dalton fouled out, too, I believe...and was limited with foul trouble and only had 9 points. So, I'll give you your big guy and take a Robert Dalton with no foul trouble because you could almost assuredly double those 9 points.

But, keep holding on to those moral victories. You beat us in that scenario.....Confusednicker:

I have experience dealing with few LC special fans (crybabies). What he was trying to say that in a game of basketball each player gets 5 fouls. Once you commit your 5th foul as Robert Dalton did you have foul out of the game. That means you must not play anymore in the game that night. However, in case of Tyler Pack he only got 4 fouls and was made to leave the game and due to and error of the LC bookkeeper. This error was either a mistake or intention that we do not know but it did happen. So do you understand the difference between a player who only gets 4 fouls and a player how only gets 5 fouls. That was what the point of the topic was about. Not saying if Tyler Pack had gotten to continue to play that JC would have for sure won but it would have increased their chances. I understand that few LC fans have a hard time understand complex situation due to the water they drink. However, it seems to me if I was a LC fan instead of joking, insulting, and generally being an ass I would have been apologizing to JC and it fans for the incident. But we must remember that it is LC. Thanks for the memories.

The only ones that don't get along are the adults, decision makers! The kids/players are all pretty good friends! Several play summer ball together and get along great! It's the traditionalist, old timers, adults that make it seem like they hate each other!!!

You have some serious freaking issues as you continue to harp on that game a month ago and the 4th foul or 5th foul drama. Get over it!

And there are no more "good" hard fouls anymore. If you think that the only shot that JC has to beat LC is by fouling "hard", then your team will get beat before they face LC. Just saying.
#52
There are no more "good" touch fouls either anymore! You don't get it they can't play a finesse game with them and run up and down the court with them or they will lose. They need to play physical and slow the ball up and if Lawrence comes to the hole make sure they know it. Yes hard-hammer or what ever word you like better. Someone said Lawrence needs to get Physical i hope they do as i said they only have 5 and the Dalton boys can't be replaced with there bench. JCS needs to get in there head from the get go. JCS WINS TONIGHT even thou Grace, Blair and Vance were sick.

Nice Job” LCHSbulldogsalum” it only took you one post to respond to a personal attack. You must be one of the “high achievers “or drink bottle water from LC. However, I thought my post was going to be too complex for you so I will dummy it down for you some. I was talking about character and class of a fan base / program. If an incident or mistake happens that my effect the outcome of game and the program does not address the incident it creates the appearance of poor sportsmanship (out of control fans / programs). In little over a year the LC football team & LC baseball team had been sanction by KHSAA and add in the “foul” incident and it appears LC has a pattern of poor sportsmanship and is in serious ethical trouble. This can be seen in how you belittle and support the negative behavior. I do believe LC is the team to beat in the 15th but at what cost?

Lawrence County sanction by KHSAA in football and baseball?

I'm not sure about the football incident that he is referring to. But as for baseball, it was because the LC player decided to allow his head to get sucker punched by a Pike Central player standing on 2B and the KHSAA refused to look at the video that proved what happened. Instead, to be "fair", they decided that both schools should forfeit a game on their schedule and both be sanctioned. Ridiculous.

Poor Me everyone treats LC unfairly, come on. Go back and read the post talking about how LC players was showing poor sportsmanship prior to the incident you you listed above. That is not excusing the PC players poor behavior. That why KHSAA sanction LC for their players poor sportsmanship and LC coach for lack of control. The football team had several players suspended for fighting in the Montgomery & Breathitt County games. You did got something right when you used RIDICULOUS but it should be toward the excuses made by you to defend poor actions. That was the point of my first post. :1:

Teams don't get sanctioned for "trash talking". And were you there? Or were you going by second-hand information? Yeah, precisely. Trash talking goes on more on the basketball court and football field than baseball. The PCC kid did what he did because of THEIR "lack of control". The only poor sportsmanship on the LC part was the fact that our player was knocked unconscious and beaten up on the field and our players were not allowed to defend him.

The fact that the KHSAA sanctioned the LC baseball team last year was ridiculous. Evidence was there and not looked at. Visual evidence that in a court of law would have been enough. But the dictatorship of the KHSAA refused it.

I guess it must suck for JC. You aren't the favorite this year in basketball. Baseball underachieved AGAIN, like the past 10 years since LC has been in the region. Confusednicker:

The best excuse that you can come up with LCHSbulldogsalum is to attack JC and blame the KHSAA for LC poor sportsmanship. Yes I saw the video and the kid from PCC was wrong. But LC players and coaches were wrong in their behavior also and that was why the KHSAA sanctioned LC. What is so difficult to understand LC has a history of poor behavior! Look I am not a KHSAA fan I think they are only a political hack for the most part. But with LC you are not taking about one incident you are talking about 4 serious incidents in the past 18 months involving three sports and four different opponents. The only common denominator is LC. I guess it is too much to expect for you LCHSbulldogsalum to understand. Bob seems to be right with his saying “it’s the water”.
I cannot speak for the past 10 years but I can speak for the past three which my son has been involved with playing LC in baseball. During the past three years JC is 6-1 against LC, with LC only win coming last year in the regional finals. I believe that is a about a 86 % winning %.
Keep up defending poor behavior and it will continue and you can continue to blame everyone else for LC poor actions. Seems to be like a concern person would want to have LC to accept responsibility for their actions and be accountable but that no you. SAD

Let's see, when it matters:

2006: JC win region in baseball??? Nope.
2007: Yep....congrats
2008: Nope....LC did!!!!!!
2009: Nope....LC did!!!!!
2010: Nope....Pikeville did
2011: Nope...LC did!!!!!!
2012: Nope....Pikeville did
2013: Nope....P-Burg did (JC didn't get out of district)
2014: Yep...congrats
2015: Nope....LC did!!!!!!

So, you can have your 6-1 record. I think the LC fans will take the above results when all is said and done. Confusednicker:

I still fail to see the "serious" incidents you refer to. First off, if you consider trash talking "serious", then you must be 80 years old. Secondly, if the "trash talking" was so severe, then why were there no warnings by the umpires doing the game? And the two umpires were baseball guys, with one of them being a very veteran home plate umpire. Thirdly, the ONLY reason that LC got sanctioned was because the KHSAA wouldn't look at the film because they didn't think that was "fair".

As for the Dalton brothers, they are players. Your jealousy because they can play a little is upsetting. I thought people in the region would be happy that there are players that have the abilities they do. Do they have an attitude? Sure. But I've never met many really good players that didn't have some sort of attitude. I bet if you go back, the JR Vanhoose's and Justice's of the 15th region did their fair share of talking and "attitude" as well. But, they didn't wear the LC gear, so that's OK.

Anyways, it's been fun. Good luck in the semifinals. I really do have a LOT of respect for JC. Hoping for a JC-LC final. And maybe on the baseball field for year 3 in a row??????
