I was at a tournament the other day and a crew from the 15th was officiating.
The game was winding down and all-but secured. It was a three-possession game, around 20 seconds to go and neither team had timeouts. It was virtually over, but I've seen
What happened next was a first for me and it blew my mind - The ref (who I won't name because I'm a classy guy ) actually told the team trying to come from behind not to foul.
I've seen a lot of questionable calls, watched games where I would guarantee someone was shaving points and I gave reffing a shot myself - but never have I seen a ref get in the middle of the outcome like that.
Like I said, the game was pretty much in hand, but that was a little too much for me.
