Whitley County 78 South Laurel 69

ky playmaker Wrote:I never said a word about the first game. boy you whitley guys get in a tussle easy. I was just stating what I say last nite. south played just as hard as whitley co did. I never said anything about over 20 turnovers cause whitley forced alot of those to happen they play hard. Whitley did not force south into shooting 13-34 from the line though..lol

BBfan 20 was talking about the 1st game. We get in a tussle and you are the one getting on here saying Whitley didn't really win South just gave it to them,
I personally felt like Whitley played great free throw line defense which NO DOUBT contributed to South's poor FF shooting.

Beat 'me with the big man,or the other big man not fouled out of the game football fever!
Then you have valid bragging rights (AKA an excuse to run your mouth).
P.S. When you have done that,we will acknowledge you have the better, harder playing team!
But,not until then football fever. Comprende?

I've watched Whitley several times this year and I can guarantee you that they are not in the top 4 or 5 talented teams in this region. But one thing I can guarantee is that they play harder than any team I've seen in the whole state. They play with grit and heart and never quit. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

It is possible that Whitley did help cause SL to miss so many FT's. You don't shoot as well when your legs go, and it's quite likely that WC is in better shape than SL due to the fact they do play so hard and were able to tire them out.

What part of 1 big man not playing(injured in last game),and 1 big man fouled out in the last qtr. do you not understand SEKYFAN? If either or had been in this dubiously biased contest in said final qtr. all south's missed free throws, voluminous turnovers, and tired legs(as you stupidly suggested)would have been a nonfactor. We would rolled over your so called "hard playing" colonels like a steam roller over a buncha empty pepsi cans! As bballfan20 pointed out before,"district will settle it all"and we will find out then who will tire out,or which team is in "better shape"! LOL!
But,here is sad dose of reality for you SEKYFAN, Mr. Caleb Taylor will be back next time we meet, and you wont have your "home cookin''refs to bail you out then! And that is the bottom line!

9-9.....have the big men sat out 9 games????

15-4.....ONLY 4 teams had big men as good as South? Hmmm a kid over at Boyle County might have something to say about that. (that is just one example)

Actually he has been out for 4 and 1/2 of the 9 losses. 3 games at the tourney in McCreary Co. for the flu. The 1/2 game was at Knox when he left early 3rd qtr with injury. When Taylor left that game he had 19 points 11 rebs and South was leading by 4. Think its safe to say that he does make a huge difference.
#39
Taylor was also playing sick with a viral infection when they played at Corbin. He is a complete, and total beast when he is feeling good! Great kid too! Parents are good folks as well.

Ok so I get the reason and excuses why South Laurel lost to Whitley, I think they are the same or very similar to the same that was posted on the other SL losses.

Not excuses top notch, just facts, don't like to hear it anymore, don't read it anymore! South played a lot of tougher teams than Whitley, and usually with just as bad roody poo refs! We will find out who is top notch come district time, and it sure ain't gonna be Whitley! And that's the bottom line cause stone cold said so!

Probably is not going to be South Laurel either.......

Lost to Corbin......
Lost to Williamsburg......
Lost to Whitley...........

Plus South is 2-6 in the region........

Willimsburg 12-0 in the region......
Corbin 6-5 in the region.......
Whitley 8-1 in the region........

Your two victories in the region....North and Whitley.....

Not the best resume to be imply that you are going to win.......

Pimp On Bro!!!!

I'll say this I would try and get the ball to Jared Grubb more even when the Bigs are healthy and playing. He is a fantastic player.

From the sounds of it, he wont be playing anyways Confusednicker:

All you have to do is check stats to see what a difference he makes. Whitley played great, but outcome may have been much different had he played.

Williamsburg 12-0 record includes:

2 great wins over Redbird( one of the top 5 worst teams in the state)

2 wins over Pineville

wins over Harlan Ind., Middlesboro, and Bell County.

No one and I repeat NO ONE from williamsburg should ever say anything about someones schedule or wins and loss record in region. Williamsburg Schedule is in the top 20 weakest in the state. I know for a Fact that 2 of the Regional Powers tried to schedule them this year and their Coach said NO.

I'm sorry Taylor was hurt. I'm sorry you had 1 foul out. I'm sorry you missed 21 FF and I'm sorry you turned the ball over 25 times. I'm sorry your feeling are hurt.
I'm really not sure what "bragging rights" "AKA an excuse to run your mouth" you really have but I will acknowledge you "Stone Cold" are the winner of the run your mouth award. Cause Fever said so. I will say Taylor playing would have made a difference in the game. May have even changed the outcome. The 19 point SL win the 1st game I still contribute poor shooting on Whitleys part more so than Taylor.

As north has already proved one player don't win games, and certainly don't win tournaments diietpepsidrinker,I would expect a Whitley countians with such obviously vast basketball knowledge to already know that though. C'mon man!!!! If ssouth gets healthy, and stays as such, come back on here after tournament play and let's talk about team W L records then.LOL! South is capable of smashing every team you mentioned in tourney play, and you know it! If healthy, South will roll! And that's the bottom line! Cause stone cold says so!

Never understand fans saying we would have won if he wouldn't have fouled out. Don't foul if you don't want to foul out. Get in position and don't reach. Every one of his fouls were earned. Fouls are part of the game.
#50
Ain't nobody's feelings hurt. Yet.
Ain't nobody's mouth running. Yet..
Ain't nobody making excuses. Yet....
Ain't nobody got bragging rights. Yet....
To be continued....cause stone cold said so!

whitley has never won anything just look at their last 4 years in district. they are 15-4 but played every team without the other teams best player. south no taylor corbin no taylor knox no marcee tates creek no fucci and their big and still lost boyle is only good win and they dont beat boyle but 1-100 wayne got killed

I couldn't agree more with this.
#53
I agree on the reaching in e's army, but if you watched as many games as I think you have, depending on the gym,it might get called on one team,it might not get called on another. I agree that some of souths fouls were earned. I also believe some were not, just like I believe some of Whitney's were called, some were not. And I agree it's all a part of high school basketball. Players are not perfect. Coaches are not perfect. None of the either teams fans in the stands are perfect. Not one of us posting replies are perfect. And certainly,no high school referee anywhere,is perfect. And that is certainly the bottom line!
#54
I will agree that whitley gets the most out of what they got. coach does a hell of a job at that but whitley dont have a kid that plays beyond high school. some coaches try and get kids to the next level. whitley dont have any next level kids. whitley will be one and done just like last 4 years
#55
and if whitley plays south again if any you whitley homers want to bet i got 500 for any and all that want to take it

EVERY player on Whitleys team will go to the next level. They will ALL be college students and college graduates. Less than 4% of graduating senior basketball players will go on and play college basketball.

ConfusedingleparConfusedinglepar:rockon: Congrats to those Whitley kids for going onto the next level for educational purposes……….but I do think playmaker is talking about playing basketball at the next level.

You think. This HS basketball must be the highlight to some of your life's!! Every team in the 13th region will end their season the same way, with a loss!!!

Yes, you are right Leonard L. He was referring to playing basketball at the next level. And I also want to commend, or congratulate any student, from any school ,who completes,or even tries to pursue any collegiate academic,or athletic career,or military career for that matter. But what I really want to know is footballfever ready to put up,or shut up about that 500 smacker bet playmaker is talking about for a south/whitley rematch? Cause I will add 500 smackers to that, making it 1,000 dollar pot, if any of you whitley smack talkers wanna try to wager that south wont open up a can,or lay the smack down on whitley next time!!
And that's the bottom line! Cause stone cold said so!!!

I'll bet you a cold beer at Ruby Tuesday's after the game if any you guys old enough to have one😄
