bac2369 Wrote:Hazard was originally in the district before Pikeville and Phelps complained. So now that hazard wins the appeal they are the cry babies because they wanted to keep the original lay out..Phelps had a legitimate complaint based on travel time. Now, to lay it out for people here, a compilation of responses to the survey of schools on the proposed alignments was put together. It appears all schools were given a chance to voice if they agreed to the alignments or not. It appears Hazard chose not to respond yes or no. Phelps responded not in favor primarily due to travel. The Pikeville response was "no, not a fan of 5 team districts and who drafted the proposed alignment?" That was the extent of the "complaint" that I can find. I do not find any more lengthy opposition to the proposal that first had Hazard in the same district. Not exactly crying about it, but I DO wish the person who had responded had been a bit more professional and detailed in their opposition, but it is what it is. If there is a more detailed opposition, I'd certainly like to read it.

I just remember a moderator posting about pikeville and phelps appeal to move hazard.

With Hazard being in district 8 pikeville will benefit even though people think there district district title will be cut in half.

Back to the original proposal. The way it should have been in the first place.

Listen they are lucky to have enought to field a JV. Doing the best they can. They really don't have a lot to go by. Shouldn't hate them over that. It's Jenkins we are talking about.

That was a really good Jenkins middle school team. They didn't need him. It was the dishonesty that upset a lot of people. Apparently they had done it to a few other teams as well that season and people cancelled on them because of it. I don't think a lack of success permits that type of behavior. JMO. Like I said, they were a really good team without the player. The whole incident was well documented on the Middle School forum back in the day haha.

It's just middle school. They need some success at high school.

How will the regions work out now? Can someone post a line up of the regions for the new alignment?

I do feel bad for Jenkins. it does seem like the world is against them. they are the underdog if anybody ever was. Go Jenkins Cavaliers :Cheerlead

Will be interesting to see how this changes a schedule that looked pretty fun on paper for 2015.
How so?

The crying began with Pikeville appealing.
Hazard appealed, not Pikeville. Hence the thread title "Hazard wins appeal......"

Worst case scenario, PHS finishes 2nd in district and has to play both like they would have had to before minus home field. And it also gives you two shots at Hazard in that case.

Two good teams who battle it out for in the regular season and get the chance to play each other again in the playoffs most of the time the other team wins.. So this district will be fun.

Think this will be a tough district with the winner possibly contending for a state title each year.
07-16-2014, 08:14 PM
I don't know about the district being that tough.
You have three of the worst teams in the state year in and year out.

You wanted Hazard out of your district because no one could beat them and after you turds whined enough you got your way. Then you trash District 8. Clown.

Home field is HUGE. And it gives Hazard two shots at YOU.

And here is where you said Hazard didn't know the difference between Jenkins, Phelps and South Floyd and your district of Harlan Pineville and Lynn Camp......

LOL not lack of class lack of tolerance for stupidity. You said Hazard didn't see any difference between playing Jenkins, South Floyd and Phelps and playing Harlan, Pineville and Lynn Camp.

Calling people stupid and you didn't know Jenkins was in the 14th Region or that Jenkins wasn't in your football district last year or that District 7 was going to be an entirely new district or that District 8 had changed from the last alignment.
My guess is that Hazard would 3-0 the last five years against either group. You think there would be a big difference?

Nope. No difference between Jenkins and Harlan.

No difference between Phelps and Pineville.

No difference between South Floyd and Lynn Camp.

I knew Jenkins wasn't in the district. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Will be a tougher district, for sure. Pikeville and Hazard match up very well now, compared to the previous 3-5 years. But even in the recent past, Pikeville still played Hazard very tough. 2015-2018 is going to be a heck of a run of good games.
