Hazard was originally in the district before Pikeville and Phelps complained. So now that hazard wins the appeal they are the cry babies because they wanted to keep the original lay out..

Phelps had a legitimate complaint based on travel time. Now, to lay it out for people here, a compilation of responses to the survey of schools on the proposed alignments was put together. It appears all schools were given a chance to voice if they agreed to the alignments or not. It appears Hazard chose not to respond yes or no. Phelps responded not in favor primarily due to travel. The Pikeville response was "no, not a fan of 5 team districts and who drafted the proposed alignment?" That was the extent of the "complaint" that I can find. I do not find any more lengthy opposition to the proposal that first had Hazard in the same district. Not exactly crying about it, but I DO wish the person who had responded had been a bit more professional and detailed in their opposition, but it is what it is. If there is a more detailed opposition, I'd certainly like to read it.

With Hazard being in district 8 pikeville will benefit even though people think there district district title will be cut in half.

Played very well haha.

That was a really good Jenkins middle school team. They didn't need him. It was the dishonesty that upset a lot of people. Apparently they had done it to a few other teams as well that season and people cancelled on them because of it. I don't think a lack of success permits that type of behavior. JMO. Like I said, they were a really good team without the player. The whole incident was well documented on the Middle School forum back in the day haha.

Win the district and the path to BG is much easier than it would have been. Good deal. PHS also owes Jenkins for a stunt they pulled against the will-be seniors in 2015.

Will be interesting to see how this changes a schedule that looked pretty fun on paper for 2015.

Only have to play Williamsburg or Hazard instead of having to play both. Much like the winner of the Raceland/Fairview district would only have to play Pikeville or the 2nd Seed, not both and the 2nd seed has to play both.

Worst case scenario, PHS finishes 2nd in district and has to play both like they would have had to before minus home field. And it also gives you two shots at Hazard in that case.

Two good teams who battle it out for in the regular season and get the chance to play each other again in the playoffs most of the time the other team wins.. So this district will be fun.

Problem is, they lost to Pikeville last year, so your 3-0 record theory is invalid. :-) I kid, I kid.

Will be a tougher district, for sure. Pikeville and Hazard match up very well now, compared to the previous 3-5 years. But even in the recent past, Pikeville still played Hazard very tough. 2015-2018 is going to be a heck of a run of good games.
