Tim Parks would be a good choice, played at Clay County, had a few real good teams at June Buchanan, and has been assistant to Al Hollan at Hazard the last 3 years. Kids and parents both would like him, if anyone could get both sides to like him it would be Tim. I know he has turned down a couple jobs in the past, but always wanted to coach in the 13th region.

Steve is a heck of a coach, with that said I don't see him applying for the job.

Tony Patterson is a name I'm hearing also. Which makes since his name was out there last year when everyone thought Evans would be gone.

I don't see Patterson getting the job, there was an incident at a grade school game a few years ago, and there still is a lot of bad blood over it. I hope they keep politics out of it. If not they will load Dinky up, there is a tremendous amount of talent up there already, and more on the way.

Parents would love Tim Parks...TheRealDeal....I am seriously :truestory:

Rich Prewitt was one of the finest coaches around back in the day and an even better person. I know he's retired now but I would have loved to seen him coach a team for a long time had he not taken the Principal job at WCMS.

Are you too young to remember the late 80s?
He was a real good player for KC, but those teams couldn't get past Corbin.

tony should have graduated in 1990

Yes, I think so.
All but two-plus months of his high school career were in the 80s.
I don't remember where he went to college.

He went to ETSU and then played overseas for a couple years. He been coaching grade school ball for the last few years.

He played for Prewitt when he coached at Knox.

Knox had several good teams in that era but that was the Richie and Bobby era. they won about 9 regions in a row.

Actually, yes, yes I am nicker:
I was 6 years old in 90 if that tells you how much I remember of the 80's. Ive learned a lot threw research and stories from friends, but eye witness accounts of anything pre 1990 is something I cannot claim to have. Its like what you could say about the 30's nicker:
But as you said, no teams could beat Corbin and Clay in this region then (and maybe now with the way its looking). Teams like Knox could have an awesome team, and meet Corbin or Clay in the region and get smoked.

Believe it or not, I don't know everything like HDE says I do lol.
Thanks for info. I always enjoy learning new stuff. That truly was one I was stumped on

This is poor timing. Like many districts now, Knox is struggling financially and is considering laying off teachers. Since Brian didn't resign his teaching position, it's unlikely a position will open up. Look for the replacement to be someone who already teaches in the system, most likely Patterson or current assistant Kyle Stacy.

^^
One thing will before sure. No way will kyle Stacey ever be the head coach!!! He could coach a little league baseball team much less a high school basketball team... Just the thought of someone thing that this guy could ever be a coach is just so funny!!!! The only reason he is even a assistant coach is because they need someone to keep stats.. That's about all he is good for.
Trust me no way he will ever be the head coach!!!!

That's the very reason why I would hire a coach like Tim Parks.Don't need a teaching job. This guy has so many connections to college coaches. Knox Central player would get notices believe me.64SUR :truestory:

Yes I think Tim Parks would make them a great coach and they won't have to give him much money to do it so that would work out great for the both of them.....Tim is the man for the Job

I think they return some great players, sounds like a Spurlock situation to me. He steps into some good conditions usually.

It is quiet b/c the Bargers are reviewing the applicants. They have ran the last 2 coaches off for the most part.
06-03-2014, 08:45 PM
Let me ask you something munney mouth who ran EVANS out of whitley, cummberland college and union college i can tell you he ran himself off he cant coach bottom line and elam was on his way out when the older Barger got there so dont hide behind your fake name and run your mouth about something you dont know about .Elam was fired polliticaly and Evans was hired polliticaly the parents nor the players or fans wanted Evans.I agree with 64sur Tim Parks would be a great hire for KC.:lame:

Man you really have no clue about KC basketball do you?? Badgers had nothing to do with Elam getting fired!!! He coach with a lot more heart than Evans has ever thought of having. He got fired cause he would show any favoritism to a certain player who after it was all said and done run across town to play for barbourville cause he knew he had lost all the respect of his team mates. As far a Evans goes he should have stayed fired last year but some of the higher ups wanted him to stay on when none of the players really cared for him anyway. You need to get your facts straight before you start talking crap about people first!!!!

Some of those Knox teams could have been deadly had they had a couple of Bville players with them. Can you imagine that 02 or 03 team that had Mills, Bargo, etc, with the Vance kid and that other big Bville kid?
That's a team that could have made it big time. Some of the best basketball years the tri county area has seen since 30 years ago. That 95-03 era produced a lot of really good high school basketball players in the area with the Sears of the world and such.
