The fields are pretty equal, both very nice. Belfry's whole stadium package is what makes it better.

I still think belfry has a great field and looks great but there's just somethign abotu Valley's field that makes it so great.

Ive spent many of days over there and I dunno I think the parking is better the just the all around set up of the field is better in my view. I mean I dont like Pikeville's field where they have no away bleachers. Belfrys field I like. Just not the fact the walk just need some better parking. And some better away bleahcers. I also thik the mountains surronding the field and I dunno I just love it!!!!!!!!!!

What I would say makes Valley's field the best in EKY, is that they have two sets of BIG bleachers, one for the home and away, other fields don't have this, yeah Belfry has a bleacher for away, but it isn't that big, and can't hold many people, I don't even remember LCC having away bleachers.

Pikeville don't even have an away bleacher. Unless you count the baseball one and your gonna need binoculars from it.

Yea, you think Pikeville would have a top notch bleacher set up. They would mess up there baseball field I guess if they added bleachers for the away teams.

AS a matter of fact, most visiting teams to Belfry don't bring enough people to fill the away side bleachers with the exception of Sheldon Clark and Prestonsburg and maybe a couple of others.

Come gametime, if the visitors side is not full, our own fans will sit over there. Smile

Also, since everything but the turf was funded by the state, you have to take what they (the state) gives you. Belfry don't have enough seating for their own fans, but the state installs bleachers based on the student body count just like the size of the newer gymnasiums like ER, Belfry and PCC.

Valley has had their bleachers for years and I guarantee if their school was a new school, theirs would be smaller too.

No school is "better" than another school because the size of the bleachers or the fact that they have turf or a video scoreboard. All of this talk reminds me of the classic "mine's better than yours" stuff you said as a kid.

We as parents and fans and community should be proud of our kids that get out there and bust their butts in practice everyday whether or not they play on grass, turf or in the mud and regardless of whether we sit on bleachers or lawn chairs. The kids are the reason why we are there, not the facility.

Belfry has the better looking complex, including turf. SVHS has that track on the perimeter of the field, which put the fans far away from the field. Also the visitors have to walk out of the field, across the parking lot and back in just to get to the concession and restrooms. P.S. Also the visitors have to smell that septic system behind the bleachers.
