Who are legit contenders for Mr. Football this year?

I need winning lotto tickets for tomorrow night. Hook me up Mr. McCracken ...

Next years Mr. Football will be this years best player in the state. No one is even close to Damien Harris.

You have lost your mind if you think anyone in the junior class is any better than a qb that has already had a face to face with Nick Saban.

You do realize Harris is possibly the best rb in the country for the 15 class and has an actual offer from almost every major program in the nation.

Here's someone to think about...

Devin Hayes from Bowling Green

Hayes is the best drop back pocket passer in the state. He won't win because Fant gets all the publicity, but he is a National Merit Finalist and scored a 36 on his ACT. Every Ivy League team wants him, but I think he will stay close to home and attend Centre in Danville. FANT WILL WIN MR. FOOTBALL. Mark it down.
#37
^ and not to take anything away from Fant, I know he gets the publicity. But I think Hayes is more deserving of Mr. Football. I think Barker needed to get to the regional finals to make a stronger case, and if BG wins state, Fant will win Mr. Football

Tyler Guffey from wayne county should get some serious looks

IMO Barker or Kuntz will win it...

He wont though. This is a popularity contest and Tyler is the quiet girl that wears glasses that no one talks about. Maybe Wayne can get another win and Tyler can play on the big stage for all to see. If he played in Lexington or Northern Ky, people couldnt get enough of him but he plays in a media blackhole not covered by WKYT, WYMT or Bowling Green. It's really a shame.

add Owensboro to that media black hole in the state. Hartz from OCath led 2A and the state in passing before last weekend (I challenge you Purple on that best pocket passer claim) but no one will give him a look due to location and being 2A.

If Barker gets it just caused she signed with UK then the media is nuts..
Heck, lawson Page from Collins is 167/272 (61%) 2,873 yards 34 TD'S to only 3 INt"S and rushed for around 400 yards.
For Carrer he has something like 32 wins under his belt to only 10 losses maybe...just not sure of 3 year numbers but he has led the Titans to 3 regional championships with one state runner up under his belt and hopeuflly another shot at Highlands. He is 469/849 (55%) with 7,338 yards 93 td's and 21 int's. rushed for 1,822 yards.
His counter part Dre Farris will finish his carrer with over 2,000 yards rushing 2,000 receiving and numerous all purpose yards....
Neither will win it but just wanted to throw these names our for having such an outstanding HS carrer.

I have been watching Mr. Hartz all season. I think he doesn't get much notice because Owensboro Catholic had a down year, by their standards and he plays for a 2A school. I'm not saying it's right, but that's the way it is in Kentucky. Devon Hayes is in a similar boat. Fant gets all the attention and one of the best QB's in state goes unnoticed. He is just now getting any recognition. Here's the state leaders in passing. Bear in mind that Hayes has played one less game than most because of a cancellation against Bryan Station.

72% completion percentage is pretty outstanding !

It's the best of this list…Congrats to all of these QBs on very good seasons and continued success in the future!

One more thing about Hayes. His completion rate is 72.2% for the season. If the season ended right now, he would be the all time leader in Kentucky history, surpassing the record of 71.3%. Not too shabby.

This is not correct.
Four other Quarterbacks have better completion percentages for a season...

Jon Combs (Hazard) 175-240 72.9 %
Corey Robinson (Lone Oak) 383-520 73.7 %
Cameron Smith (Trinity) 220-294 74.8%

And finally...
Tim Couch (Leslie Co.) 244/325 75.1% 3, 651 Yds. 48 Tds. in 1994
