On pace to break Tim Couch's season Completion record as a Senior
Not sure what your Top 5 is?
Why is Sindelair in this, isn't he just a junior? Also if West Jess got blanked by Garrard Co., I think that takes Taylor out of the running.

I have them numbered by this season...
Put your 5 up then? Mr. Ky is the best individual performer. If it was based on team West Jess wouldn't be in the conversation.

And I thought Sindelar was a senior, I thought he got some snaps in 2010. My bad but obviously will be a front runner next season will a career like that.
Just wasn't sure if you were talking about your Top 5 performers regardless of class this season, or candidates for Mr. Football. Personally, I'd go with Nacarius Fant, but I assume Barker will get it because of who he is. My dark horse would be Scott Daniel at Scott Co., with a 6A Title I could see him winning it.

I agree and I would of put him in before he was injured last week. He will fall into the same spot as Charles Walker. Can a player who missed 3 + games really be justified to earn the award.
I would add in Zach Harris Highlands running back he is a stud. Kuntz should be the front runner.
I think there are several that deserve consideration like Kuntz, Taylor, Daniel, and Harris.

But IMO this is a race between Barker and Fant
Wander what the voting criteria is? If it's career numbers it would be hard to go against Fant. He hasn't lost a game, with 2 going on 3 titles. If you go on ratings and the UK "good ole boy" system, it's Barker's to loose. If you go on how far a player has come and how successful a senior year a player has had, Kuntz is in the running. For him to win Simon Kenton would have to have a deep playoff run. I think injuries keep Walker from X and the young man from Scott Co. on the outside looking in. The QB from Highlands should be in the running as well.
Everybody knows I'm a homer, but the Fant kid has the best hands I've ever seen on a high school player. His best games have come against top ranked opponents, while being double and triple teamed. NO ONE has shut him down in his career. Plus, as a bonus, he's one of the best kick returner specialists in the state. Not many teams kick it to him more than once. He's also a great kid and role model around town. He even read books to kindergarten classes. WKU is getting a good one.

Houlliston is reported to play this Friday which should get him right back into the mix.
If its based on Senior season as I'm told it is then its hard IMO for it to not be between Fant & Kuntz with Barker still in the mix. These playoffs will determine alot especially if Kuntz can take SK all the way to State & Win. I don't see Conner making it past the 3rd round for sure and possibly even the second round.

It's easy to be a homer when one of these studs plays on your hometown team. You watch every game and see how amazing these young men play the game. I wish all the guys mentioned the best of luck in the playoffs and in there future as a student athlete.
:rockon:What if Kuntz & Fant decided to play in the Kentucky Vs Tennessee game :bounce::bounce:

I'm sure they both probably won't to avoid injury, but still What IF?

4, 5 Tds?
Houston Hartz - OWensboro Catholic
2014 - 2873 tds, 35 total tds, 6 ints, 257-431
career - 5576, 67 tds, 14 ints, 501/825
career record is 19-3 as a starter

Ocath won't win state this year, but Hartz is one of the best QBs in KY. His numbers back it up.
Id like to see Kuntz win it, stellar season so far.
I think you cant decide yet.. It comes down to who performs in the playoffs.. When it really counts..
I really wish the courier journal would look at players that were the true key to success for there teams and not just because there some D-1 prospect. That shouldn't give them bonus points.

Peyton Manning doesn't get the MVP because he is 6'5. He gets it based on the success he helps his team achieve.

Kids below 4a aren't even looked at seriously half the time.
Barker will get this and he SHOULD NOT! There are 4 to 5 kids more deserving of this than Barker. But as we all know, if you are going to the pitiful Kentucky Wildcats you are likely to win Mr. Football. This award is a joke.
Damien Harris is the best player in the state and it is not even really close in my opinion. He's only a junior though and will not win it this year. Should be a lock for next year.
This year it should be kuntz.

Next year, Harris. Not even a possibility he loses unless hes hurt the entire year, and he may even win it then.
Harris starts next year with a huge lead on the field.

TIM COUCH LESLIE COUNTY WAS :Cheerlead
I watched Tim Couch at Leslie County. he was the best highschool quarterback I've ever seen.

If Kuntz goes with Petrino to WKU will that I've him enough publicity to deal the deal :yum:
I'm sorry, but mr. Football should have some similar requirements like the heisman winner. Helping your team to a winning record. Rb from west jessamine, while great numbers, is on a 4-6 team. How about adding the rb from desalles? With what kuntz has done and what he means to his team, he should absolutely win.

What does the Courier Journal have to do with Mr. Football?
I don't know about this year. Next year it will be Sindelar from Caldwell Co. The year after it will be Hughes from McCracken. The year after that Bright from Mayfield will be in the running just like his dad was.
