After seeing our game against raceland, I can tell we have a lot of things we need to get corrected, but I think we'll have a much better showing this week. I know that this is a very powerful Belfry team and it will take a huge effort to pull out a win, but I feel that coach Hart will do a much better job of getting the team prepared this week. That being said, I still think that it will take a few weeks to straighten this team out, but the game is being played at Putnam, and strange things are known to happen there. I'll pick my Tomcats in this one.

Thats more like the Ashland people that I'm use to hearing. And your right Coach Hart will make sure they play a better ball game I would bet on it .

I was mainly talking about the Ashland fans here . I would exspect you all to be confident in your team I just can't believe how quick the Ashland people are loseing faith in thier team Just a few weeks ago when Ashland came here in the passing league Coach Hart was telling Goldsmith that this just might be the best team he has had sence he's been at ashland from top to bottom . Come on Tomcats get behind your coach and just believe in the program you all are the top cats untill somebody takes it away from you . I don't know why I said that I really don't even like them . But I do respect them :notworthy

I feel that Ashland will improve but not enough to pull it out this week. Belfry will be ready to go come Friday night. Good luck to both team's.

Its not loosing faith in our time. Its askin the reason how can your top three starters be injured either in weights or in offseason practice. I mean the coaches will do something to spark the flame in their players come friday. But something tells me that they are just up against a good program.

If i'm not mistaken that was the play chapman scored his TD on.. against NCC. and if i remember correctly that play killed most teams belfry played last year..

Should be a good game.. But i think belfry's D will just be too overwhelming, for many teams this year..

Here's my take on the game.

Ashland: They got a suprise Loss against a team they should have hosed by 3 TD's. They may not be as strong as in the past, but the game is at Putnam Stadium and anything can happen.

Belfry: The Pirates beat the defending Class A State Champion. It wasn't a pretty game, but I can't think of anything in football being pretty. The Pirates D is young, but they will hit you hard. I think the Belfry Defense along with the backfield two headed monster of Dustin May and Corey Chapman will sink the Cats.

My prediction:

Belfry - 35
Ashland -21

Ashland will come out with their heads on ready to knock someones off after opening up with a loss. Belfry's "O" as is the norm, still working out kinks but not bad to be young, Belfry's "D" looked great to be so young. A couple of soph's really stepped it up Friday night I understand. It may be a good game to start, but if Ashland get's down early they may fall into the "we're beat again" mode and the game's over. And Belfry may get a little over confident (I can't see Coach Haywood letting it happen but) and not come out with the fire they need too.
