Danville @ Frankfort 10/26
#31
As much as this pains me to say this. Danville may be banged up a little. Frankfort is really strong offensively. Gonna go with Frankfort 24 to 17. I have gone back and forth with some Frankfort fans mostly due to one dude running his mouth about my team when i was trying to defend frankfort when another fan accused them of running up the score. However Frankfort is strong offensively and you dont drop over 40 on Lex Christian without being able to score. Danville is a traditional power with a great coach but the game is at Frankfort and Danville is not going to be full strength.

Frankfort has a real shot at winning the region this year. The timing was near perfect for Frankfort, they return a lot, Beechwood loses a lot. Frankfort would love to go into the playoffs on fire and a win over Danville would do that. Danville can do some damage in 2A, but they're a little banged up and it might be in Harp's best interest in keeping his team healthy for the playoffs.

Don't think Frankfort can handle Danville yet. But should be a good game. Good Luck

Danville, Frank lacks quality coaching every year and I'm sure this year will be no different. all that talent, not a single trophy in the case. Sad

I have been around high school football a long time. I am willing to bet Joe Morris can't do any better at Frankfort. Not always about X & O's!

I have been around hs ball for a very long time too and they usually underachieve. No idea how Joe would do but certain that we wont be finding out if he could do better. So what issues cause this underachievement?

Actually, I believe the coaching staff has actually over achieved in the case of Frankfort football as a whole. Two things to consider; first, very small school maybe 140 boy count, which lends to small rosters( 30 players) and limited choices at certain positions. Secondly, it takes years to create an environment that develops the Mayfield, Beechwood traditions. Foley has created an environment, that is one of the reasons that everyone around the program was aware of what the talent level of this team, across the board would be. This also is not a one year team. All classes on this team are very strong, and there are only 6-7 seniors on this team. This team has a very good o-line this year and certainly has the depth at skill kids that was initially was a concern. Leading Receiver(all classes)1000+ #10 Jacckson, Top 10 on the passing list(all classes) 2054yrds 23 td's #22 Hawkins. One of the most prolific Sophomores in KY. (rec and rushing, returns) 1300+ #7 Washington. And a supporting cast that has some very good young players on it. There are potentially 2 D1/D1AA players in this senior class and a few behind them. This is what will help the coaching staff to ACHIEVE at the level expected for the present and future. Mayfield and Beechwood had their first title too. I am sure that there was a time, these teams appeared to be under achievers as well.

Coach don't take no crap. Why do you get to stand up for yourself but I can't for our boys?

Actually, I think he is taking up for the Frankfort staff on this one. WPK. What he is saying is that not to many would do any better than the staff has. Mayfield Cardinal may need your attention.LOL

I agree with most of what you have said, but coach Foley has already stated in a different thread if he had a good Oline he would run the ball. So why did you guys start passing?

When the coaches attack the fans don't expect your fans to be loyal.

Well good to to the Panthers in establishing a great program. My statement comes from seeing a high talent kid or 2 it seems like almost every year but Frankfort not getting to BG. Of course having to get by Beechwood is tough. Good luck, I hope they take out Beechwood this year and save me some driving if the Cards can get past the rest of the west. As for Friday, I still think the Ads will be a little to much but it does give Frankfort a good end to the regular season that will tell all a little more about where they are heading into the playoffs

Not sure that Foley writes post on here. Coach Foley makes light of that and if you asked him now, he would say he is happy. As far as the passing. we are 1500 rushing and 2000 passing and a whole lot of yards on defense and returns. I think the balance is what has made the difference. Foley i am sure liked a rushing offense, but understands that a more spread approach is better for this particular roster. He has a thrower, and he has some catchers, and some runners. Might as well use them all. A rushing only game makes one predictable and limited. If you have watched, and i am sure you have, the pass protection has been exceptional this year and passing has got us out of some holes.

I doubt that is a varsity coach on here and even if it is would you really want him lashing out? As fans we can say whatever and hide behind the screen but if a known coach is on here then he has to have a different standard . My jab was at fans like you not at a coach anyway.

I have heard that Danville may be without Alcorn at QB on Friday. If so, that makes Frankfort a heavy favorite in my eyes.

I am no coach of any team. I am a Frankfort transplant of 20 years. I never coached a day in my life here in this state. I have been an official and enjoy watching FHS, FCHS, and WHHS. I also travel weekly if there is a better quality high school game. Been doing this for 10 years.

I was defending any Coach. More so to defend that I think Frankfort is a tough place to win baased on other things.

I have made friends with all 3 coaching staffs in the county and talk to them all not because I want inside info, just a fan of the kids of Frankfort.

I apologize to you if you think I have wronged you or your team!

You're basing your opinion on the Franklin Co. game, worst game of his career. Maybe Franklin Co. defense shut him down but I don't think very many people on here are going to buy that. He flat out didn't show up against you guys. He is a very good receiver.
#58
Whitekittything, I hear that crap all the time. Well he didn't show up that game. Well the reason I have seen in most games where one did not show up was because the opposing defense put something or someone in to shut that player down. Plain and simple. Last year, there was alot of talk that Jonathan Jackson didn't do so well against Hazard. It wasn't Jonathan Jackson so much as it was the Hazard d line was ready, bigger and much stronger in that game. They shut that down and we didn't answer in other areas like we should have. That thing of not showing up could simply be stated by saying the other defense took that away. I think you can expect that this week and starting in about week 3 of the playoffs. I have coached before and I know that in looking at film of them kids from the capital, that is what I would do. I'm not near the coach they will be facing in either Bwood or Mayfield, so be ready.

Hey your Jackson is great. But our Jackson is getting ready to be named all state for the 3rd time. He puts up numbers on both sides of the ball. All time leading Rusher at Mayfield all time touchdown leader Mayfield all time tackles leader Mayfield. Now to put this into perspective alot of the guys he passed in the record books played d1 football and at least one played in the league. Some of the rushers he passed played when almost Mayfield did is run the ball now we have a pretty even split pass vs run., the kid from Beechwood is the same even passes the ball some. The kid from frankfort is a great player but honestly the 2 best overall are from Mayfield and Beechwood. That being said i dont know many kids period regardless of class that contribute on both sides of the ball at the level of those 2.

He is good I agree even very good, but not third in KY, Maybe not third in the city, we covered him with a freshman that is 5'9 all night. I love the kid great size and speed.
