I have been bragging on Belfry for being the King of the Mountains. Well maybe over the the last decade Belfry, but I give credit where credit is due. With Belfry getting beat and Bell beating HC tonight, Bell is the the best and well deserving of that title this year. Congrats to Bell. No more bragging on Belfry this year. Good luck Bell and HC in the playoffs. Bell actually probably has a tougher road in the playoffs than HC.

NothingTrivial Wrote:Great 2nd half adjustments from the coaching staff. those 3 big plays hurt, as did getting stopped in the red zone once, maybe twice....was the drive before the oslonian td in the red zone or just shy?
I think it was just outside the 20, but not by much.

Congrats to Bell, holding HC on the two 4th downs broke their back! I think both were close to the 20 yard line. Bell scored both timed too. Bears ran a lot between the tackles but had more success getting outside. Another personal foul really hurt too, didn't see the play all the fans said it was on us no complaining about the refs just a bad play that took the bears from inside the 10 to outside the 20. That could have lead to a TD that would have put HC up 9 in the 4th quarter could have been different, but it wasn't!
I'm a Cubs fan (no pun) so there's always next year! And yes Amped I will be here next talking my trash! That's what this site is for until the nuts muck it up.
It's on to the playoffs. Go Black Bears! Take care of business!
Poor sport or not I just can't cheer for Bell in the playoffs! Like I can't cheer for TN just because they are an SEC team. Thats just how I am!

It was closer then bell thought and more then what we HC fans thought, but a loss is a loss, Were not Perry Central no moral victories here!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but this game probably came down to one play!
With seconds left in the third quarter, the Black Bears had the ball 1st and goal at the three-yard line. Instead of punching it in, and taking a 21-12 lead in the fourth, a senseless, irresponsible, atrocious personal foul penalty on the HC tight end, gave the Bears a 1st and 10 from the 21.
Give Bell the credit for holding HC on four downs, but I really think the Black Bears would have won the game if not for that penalty. It was a good call, as the tight end threw the player to the ground after the whistle. I don't think the HC player was being dirty, just a little too careless.
Great game by both teams. I hope they both go on to win the title in their respective classes!

I thought the rain would work in Harlan County's favor tonight but it looks like Bell grinded it out.
This rain should have leveled the playing field in a lot of games.
Perry and Somerset punched each other in the mouth for 4 quarters lol

Tarps rolled up on the sidelines so I'm assuming they had it covered. I've never seen a high school field covered but that's to their advantage to keep it dry with their speed.

Congatulations to Bell for the hard fought win. The 3 big plays were the difference but as a previou poster stated this game really was decided on the one play in my honest opinion. Changed the complexion of the game and absolutely killed HC's momentum. Hopefully something was learned for this....
Hail the the Kings........... Best of Luck in the playoffs.

Something caught my eye in this game, I'm not complaining, made it more enjoyable to me. There was a group of HC men standing in the back of the endzone on the scoreboard side jawing Bell players all night..after the Oslonian run, anyone notice him run up to the group of them and jaw right back at them?
