Only rule KHSAA has is you cannot play 2 years in the same grade......meaning if your a holdback you can play your first year in that grade and not the 2nd.

Have to turn 15 after August 1st of your 8th grade year.
Have to turn 19 after August 1st of your senior year.

If you get heldback, you can play in middle school in that 2nd year, but you are not allowed to play any high school sports in that 2nd year.

The KHSAA governs high school participation, meaning once you enter the 9th grade, you have 4 yrs. to do whatever in athletics.
